  1. Not exactly... WRX and Civic Type R are 42k, 3 MPS and Golf Gti are also about that price. Honda doesn't have the Integra anymore, nor does Nissan have a Silvia... The closest 2 things I can see this being marketed against are the Hyundai Genesis Coupe (no idea when and how much) and the MX-5 - which is also 2.0L, RWD.... and well above 40k.
  2. I would encourage all of you feeling the pinch to read the book 'French Women Don't Get Fat'. Although its about weight loss, the principle is the same... discipline without depriving yourself. As SuperDave and others have said above, you will go for a while saving everything... but all that hard work goes down the tube when you eventually justify to yourself that one big splurge. So if you really feel the need for that food/videogame/car part, budget for it and buy something small every couple of pays... Better to have constant minor satisfaction than one massive binge that will only satisfy you until you look at your bank account.
  3. Then why the hell do you need any tinting at all then????????????????????????????????????????????? Epic Fail.
  4. Nice touch putting the toyota centre caps on the wheels.
  5. No, they treat you differently if you have an attitude problem, or drive a vehicle that looks it was built with an attitude problem. You may not think you drive badly, but have you seen what your driving looks like from 2 cars behind you? Did the cop that tailed you for 40 mins actually pull you over for anything? I'm wagering not... and if this is the case, you should be grateful he was just giving you a bit of a scare in the rear view mirror, rather than just pulling you over and doing you for something ludicrous. Reminding you he is there is effective road policing. ...and to reiterate what Hiro/MR22ZZ/DJKOR/Brad! have already said... if your tint is legal, you have nothing to worry about. If you get pulled over and checked with this machine, you will only get booked if it is too dark. Likewise; if you don't drive around showing off the sound of your intake, you are not going to be a target for the blues and twos. Drive within the limits, or quit whinging. Please choose one... (sigh)

    Ugly Cars

    Opel Tigra. Awesome.
  7. I was trying to avoid the everyone posting pics of fav supercars.... there is already an old multi-page thread of that in the club lounge. I was more trying to create an exercise that showed 1. if people thought anything UNMODIFIED was better than the 458, and 2. whether or not people prefer comfort, status, size etc if buying a hugely expensive car. But seeing as I cant get the poll function to work, this thread can now be closed... Sorry for wasting your time everyone.
  8. A couple of weeks back, BKS posted the new 458 Italia from Ferrari - and we all drooled. But I've since seen the new Aston Martin - and I doubt there's anything else on the road I would drool more over... B) Let's see if we cant have a bit of fun and gauge your response to the following... Ferrari 458 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Nissan GT-R BMW M3 Porsche GT-2 Corvette ZR1 Lotus Evora Audi R8 - V10 Lamborghini Gallardo 560-4 And just because someone will whinge if I don't include it... the Bugatti Veyron. (Could one of the moderators add a poll if that feature still exists?)
  9. Hahahaha... oh dear god. And he was such a nice chappie - he looked like he was gonna commit suicide after the show, poor fellow :(
  10. Pop Idol/American Idol is cooler in Europe: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  11. Since the purpose of the 'anti-hoon' is for safety.. I reckon it disregards body-kits. It should measure from the factory ones. so its only the suspension so i can still lower it 5cms according to the law and im still safe sean No no and NO. I posted a link to the exact law at the top of this page, which you clearly haven't read. In the section 'Lowering a Vehicle', it clearly makes reference to GROUND CLEARANCE OF 100mm WITHIN 1 METRE OF AN AXLE. Which means if you have massive side skirts that hang low enough to be under 100mm from the ground, you will get done regardless of your suspension height. Same goes for if you have lowered it 5cms, but you have 5 people in the car pushing it down further. Either way, the law is currently on hold... so you don't have to do anything extra in terms of certificates etc just yet.
  12. Dear god... why would you climb a tree, and then cut off the bit that your rope is attached to!?!?!? And this is just sadistic.... Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  13. Good news guys. B) This bit of rubbish would have kicked in as of today, but has been stalled until further notice.
  14. Gotta love that chav who can spell 'farther'. I did not see that falling cupboard coming either... In the spirit of sexy dances gone wrong, here's another personal fav of mine. The sound of her head hitting the deck kills me every time! Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  15. Well its not like escalator glass is designed to move sideways. Not with 70-100 kgs of man and bike flying through the air onto it anyways.... Just to keep the epic fail vibe happening, try this on for size: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  16. DJKOR - exactly right. No sympathy when that happens... shame someone had to die in the process though. Superdave - Are you saying that they hit the pole at less than 166? I understand how you are explaining the tension pole... but how do you explain the car at a lesser speed? (And is just me, or does anyone else find the nonchalant expression of the young police officer in the middle ever so slightly amusing?)
  17. Yeah would love lighter 16s but i got other things to sort out first ;) Enkei RPF-01 in 16x7. They really dont come much better than that... (*awaits someone to suggest otherwise*)
  18. Alright, I just read this new law -and I suggest you all do the same here: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/dow...7-july-2009.pdf Pay attention to the very last line: For all those that have said it doesn't apply if you had your car modified before the law came into effect, or have only a 30mm drop etc... this is not the case. It is EVERY TIME you get your Blue Slip.
  19. x2 I can then imagine them giving you a big F*** you too with a speeding ticket. the way i meant it was to own a fast car lol not speed :) Haha - spot on there, DJKOR. Why bother owning the fast car then? I know exactly what you are saying, but its this eye for an eye attitude that keeps creating laws like this. Here's a quick roleplay of what that attitude ends up with: Govt = "We're gonna lower the speed limit again for young drivers" P plater = "Yeah, well im just gonna say F*** you when i get a full license and drive whatever speed I want -and I'll mod the hell out of my car to make it fast" (months later) Govt = "Too many people are fanging around on lowered cars. We are gonna limit how much you can lower them" P plater = "Well im just gonna wait until I have my full license and say F*** you with a big fast car" ... What I'm trying to say here is that with that attitude, it wont be long until there are import restrictions on what sort of vehicles actually enter the market.
  20. Funny you should ask. Everyone, including me, thought the financial crisis would kill these off. First of all, the Lexus LF-A has been released. V10 muscle and all that. More relevant to your question, however, the Subaru - Toyota collaboration (known as 086-A, as in AE86 i would imagine) is about to be unveiled in the coming months. One variant from each manufacturer so the press is leading us to believe. http://www.autospies.com/news/Breaking-New...tor-Show-45732/ http://www.examiner.com/x-11005-San-Jose-S...ng-our-way-soon
  21. They have the power of a 1zz, but are about 200kgs lighter. I love them - but RXSeven test drove one not so long ago and found one killer flaw. Apparently they have uber throttle lag. Press the accelerator and not a lot happens for a second or so.
  22. In the garden of eden, honey... don't you know that I'm loving you... (keyboard solo)... haha. (insert chinese characters here) - Sodagreen
  23. Does it really justify the massive price difference over the standard Zonda, though? Lets face it, Zonda in any form isnt exactly a slow car...

    Lap top

I can't remember the proper term for it (along the lines of __ware: eg - nagware, spyware, etc), but HP, Compaq, Dell (and even Sony Vaio to a small extent) always come bundled with a whole heap of unnecessary programs/processes that constantly run and slow the machine down. I'm sure this is either 1. product placement, or 2. an attempt to ensure you have to bring your product directly to them for servicing. Often (as cha54 said) you can get rid of them and live without. Unfortunately, a huge proportion of the time, they are installed through other programs - or are proprietary drivers (or similar, eg power management) - and you will either delete something you wanted, or (worst case scenario) the hardware simply wont run. (PS - mr22zz - Lenovo is the old IBM. IBM now limit their branded activity to business software/security, whilst outsourcing the hardware side of their business to Taiwanese firm Lenovo)
