  1. Toyota , finaly changed my dash today, as a gesture of good will , that I am grateful for , but also need to thank my dealer for all their help in replacing it . keep up your persistance friends , you never know what will happen if you keep asking .
  2. I have a sticky dash too , car only done 50,000k in 6 vears , had touble also with intermediate steering shaft , Toyota's response the same out of warranty, and parts in australia made different than overseas . Talk about the artful dodger ! Dont hold your breath , best solution is to tell all your friends to email toyota and tell them you will never buy their product again. pass the word people, facebook friends , all you can muster, only way for results is to spread the word about their after sales service , ring around your dealers to . Toyota , Oh what a feeling.
  3. I have this problem also , sticky dashboard and also had intermediate gear shaft problems , my car is 2008 Aurion built , purchase in 2009 , you are absolutely right ,talking to Toyota head office is a complete waste of time , they are not interested , my car has only done 49,000 k , have looked after it , but because it is 6 years old , they say it is out of warranty.
  4. Hi everyone , true to form Toyota sent me a standard email re int shaft , saying Aussie Aurions are not made the same as overseas ones and therefore there is no recall in australia, so their sticking to there warranty 3 years and at their discretion, I say to you people all who are having problems with the intermediate steering shaft, email toyota customer service let them know you have problems with it , If we dont tell them they have a problem, then they wont act. Their is nothing like people power. Do us all a favour , send them an email , regards Paul
  5. Re int shaft , I just had done ,car out waranty , done only 47,000 k from new. still in contact with toyota australia arguing for refund. interesting to note on 9/02/2015 they issued a recall on the new fj cruiser for intermediate shaft problem. their is definitely a fault in manufacture, and i beleve it should be compensated in or out of warranty if the vechicle has had fair wear and tare .you would expect more from Toyota , who should be honest enough to admit they have a faulty batch, let you all know how I get on.
  6. Thanks, Aiden for your info , will investigate ,further. was a toyota dealer.
  7. they charged $452.90 for part,$472.50 for labour and they said they had to do a wheel alignment to which cost$121.50 ( 4 Wheels) Do you think this was excessive?
  8. I have just had to have my intermediate shaft spline replaced in my Aurion, at a cost of $1000 . only done 47,000ks as this was a known fault i reckon toyota should at least pay for the part $495 even though out of warranty now , anyone have the same problem
