I am having the same issue in my Aurion. Thinking of taking it to Singleton Toyota. Anyone previously dealt with these guys? Or are there any other good toyota service centres near Newcastle/Maitland area?

My first post on this forum.

Just picked up a second hand black 06 Aurion sportivo SX6 yesterday. The car is immaculate and is really clean inside out and has new rubber all around.

However, I realised that there is a slight knock while turning the steering at low speeds and take off. I can feel this knock when turning the steering while the car is stationary.

When I read about this, I came across the intermediate steering shaft issue as a manufacturing defect from Toyota. Since the car is out of the manufacturers warranty, I assume it will come out of my pocket? If so, how much does it generally cost to replace the shaft (if this is the problem)?
