  1. where are you located Southern Sydney. I called Toyota and they quoted me $285 - sounds a bit too cheap for one whole alloy! I've further inspected the wheel and it appears that only the paint layers has cracked/chipped/flaked off. I imagine this can be repaired? Seeing as a new wheel supposedly costs $285, it may just be cheaper to buy a new one.
  2. Hi, I have a 2010 Aurion ZR6. I have a wheel which is most likely beyond repair, and was just wondering if anyone knew how much a replacement wheel would cost? The wheel has developed a crack on the outside - probably due to a bad scraped or pothole. If anyone could also provide me with the wheels model name or number too, that would be great. Cheers.
  3. Haha! My bad! No will be kept stock standard and sold again in 2 or 3 years. I didn't quite like them either, but it's starting to grow on me. I wish it was an actual HSV E2 :) And to be honest I think the rear sunshade is a bit of a gimmick but I'll wait and see.
  4. Hi there, Just took delivery of a new ZR6 Aurion in White (build Jan 2010). Very happy with it so far, hasn't got over 20km on it yet! Just thought I'd post up a few noticed changes etc. I have only driven it home from the dealers but have already noticed many changes. So I had 2006 Wildfire Aurion ZR6 with sunroof (30,000km). Traded it in on a 2010 White ZR6 (series 2) Aurion. The wildfire Aurion had a few niggling issues, mainly rattles. The whole dash and the sunroof made creaks and rattles. Nothing too bad, however still quite annoying. It did go in twice to have the rattles fixed, and some were fixed. This time round I decided to steer clear of the sunroof as I never used it and it just made noises, however it did look good on the outside. So a few observations so far: - No more/less dash noises. There is one slight one but it is not constant and i'm 99% sure is due to heat. I'm not worried about it at all. Build quality of the dash appears better, and put together well. -There are stacks of new features. Bloody good value compared to the old money. Just a few - aux, bluetooth, rear sunshade, memory seats/mirror, electric chromatic rear vision mirror, heated side mirror, rain sensing wipers, reverse camera. That's just naming a few things. -The new head unit is great. Doesn't look the best but the functionality is much better. It charges my iphone from the usb port and can also stream music from iphones and ipod touches(and phone and the like) over bluetooth, not just calls. -The reverse camera is okay however the picture quality is rather average - but still does the job. -The rear seats have a slightly different part where the belt goes through (it use to get caught when I used it in the old one, the new one doesn't seem to). However the "bits" that come from a side pocket on both sides of the rear seats are no longer there. These "bits" attach to the belt and pull it away from the person sitting. Not why these were in it either, never used them. -The "netting" on the rear of the front seats has gone. The new one has these plastic parts that pull out, these are attached by elastic. I see the elastic failing eventually, don't know if this was a wise choice. -New cluster lights. Appears to be a nicer, less intensive blue. And the little screen might be slightly bigger too, not quite sure however. Overall I do prefer it though. Overall more than pleased with the changeover. If anyone has any questions about it (nothing mechanical please) just post here. Cheers Here's a photo - sorry about the quality, took it in a rush on my phone.
  5. You really can't go wrong with any of those cars. The Aurion is a powerful car, the others less so. But the aurion does have flaw, especially build quality. Resale should be ok, but with the economy like it is, and fuel on the up, resale is suffering (in all markets). The 6 is a beautiful car, so much so that im seriously considering it as a next car. I have heard they are slighlty underpowered though (a big difference compared to the aurion!!) I personally think the build quality is much better though. The Honda accord is a nice car, I myself have not driven one but the reviews for them are great. Servicing and parts arn't cheap though. Answers: 1) Toyota resale is and has always been good. But with the economy at the moment (and no clear future), and petrol on the up, resale is suffering. 2) Let's say Toyota have produced much better cars in the past. They rattle, they squeak and they take time to be fixed. But this is occuring a lot in the newer cars as more brittle plastic are being used. 3) Having a Toyota serviced is cheap. As are the parts. They have special service plans (I did not take it up, I have a mechanic who I have been using for over 15 years and he does it for me...at a greatttttt price...and his not some dodgy kid on an apprentieship) which end up quite cheap. Have you considered the new falcon? I don't exactly like ford, but the new falcon appears to be quite impressive.
  6. SOLD for AU $1,575.00 ...anyone here get it?
  7. Wow, there is a TRD Aurion at the NSW Government auctions. No idea which department it has come from, maybe policing (I know the QLD police bought some) Reasonable price too, I think. Link: http://governmentauctions.com.au/vehicle.aspx?number=2490580 Auction is this coming Tuesday. On another note, check this out: http://governmentauctions.com.au/vehicle.aspx?number=2491185 Look at the price and the amout of kilometres it's done!! And where the hell did a government department get that from, it's an import isn't it?
  8. Owner has now found the code! Thanks for the tips guys - that's one to remeber for sure!
  9. Hi, We use to own an 05' camry sportivo but have now sold it. The new owner wants to know where or what the secuirty code is. Does anyeone know where it would be? We bought the car new from a dealership...maybe it's in the service books? I had a look at our service books for our 07' Corolla but I can't find it in there....there are a few codes however under foreign names, eg "Katashiki" or something like that. How many digits is the code usually? Can anyone help? We have never set or changed the raido code...so obviously it's the one from the factory. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks... :D
  10. They no longer produce the ZR6 or SX6 in Wildfire Red either!!I think this may be because they sell it on the TRD Aurion (it was stopped around the time of the release of the TRD). That new inferno colour is *****!!!So is the new dark grey colour - it's *****!!! (They were the replacement colours) I like green, and it still puzzles me why they discontinued it. I've seen plenty in that colour on the road!
  11. Just yesterday I recieved a letter from Toyota. States that my Corolla conquest (Sept 07) may need the front left drive shaft replaced as it is not up to spec and may lack durability long term (said something along the lines of that anyway). But this has not been listed on http://www.recalls.gov.au/ . So is it a proper recall or what? My car has to be inspected (30 mins work) and then IF it needs replacing it will take 3 hours (but has to be done on a seperate day!). Was a bit of a suprise to me, I thought the recall would have been for the Aurion! Anyone else recieve this letter?
  12. $400 for a genuine side mirror? Try $800-900 for a genuine Lexus side mirror. <_<
  13. No idea what that could be. Maybe take it to Toyota for a look?
  14. I normally steer clear of leather, cause it normally looks crap after a year or so with creases etc. But these seem to hold up well, whilst they arn't perfect, they look a lot better then some cars of similar age(I thinks it might be because of the cross-hatch pattern used). I never use any products on them.
  15. I have an 06' build. Have a few dash rattles (nothing major, only happend on larger bumps) and the sunroof "creeks" which is something to do with the body twisting with the seals (i think). Goes away when oiled, but has to be done fairly frequently. Have no centre console rattles though.... Visited the Government aucitons today to have a look around (not for me, for someone else). Had a seat in a SS, Calais V Series and a WM Statesman. Boy, was I horrified. The plastics and build quality was horrid. The Aurion is much, much better(not to say its great). Should be interesting to see what the build quality is like in the FG falcon. Also note, a series 2 aurion should be due out late this year. Hopefully this will contain a few fixes etc. Im currently eyeing off the new Mazda 6 (pitty it's only a 4cyl). The reviews are great and they look awsome.
  16. I'd be in the same boat as you. I hate the crap woodgrain look. If the Presara didn't have it, I'd buy one hands down.
  17. Thanks for letting us know how your going with the car... Hopefully the end outcome is a good one. All new cars from every brand are strating to develop these annoying rattles. It must be something to do with the amount of plastics they use now. Good to hear the dealer is doing the right thing by you!! No matter what brand of car, there are bad dealers. Just watching the news tonight, some car (sweedish I think) which is the fastest car in the world with a $2m price tag, will send out there mechanics within 24hrs of your problem occuring (and thats anywhere in the world...thats some service!!!) The Yaris is a good car, but the new Mazda 2 I reckon is even better!! So many colours to chose from as well!!!! At least it's not summer, you wouldn't want something like this stopping you from heading off to the ramp!! Overall though, I'd prefer a rattle to rust. Pitty the Territory does rust in those areas, I mean it's a descent car (does over do the plastic trim inside it though). By the way, im from Fishnet as well Aurion, PM me on Fishnet who you are on that site, as you can tell I kept my same ID within here. I'm "GarryM" on the Oz forum travel/4X4 site. Thats if your happy too I've picked up the beast today and it appears to all be rectified during the short trip home. The Service Mgr and the mechanics did the Toyota jump/thumbs up today in the belief that they corrected the prob. Whilst internally e-mailing Toyota of the prob and fix for other dealers to be alert to. Whilst I heard no (absolute zero) noise at all on the way home tonight, I will reserve my Toyota jump until Monday. But just quietly I'm having a crownie or two just as an entree of celebration at this time. If all is Ok by Monday, I'll post the cause as explained to me. Sounds a minor thing, but constant loud noises does p**s you off more than a days work at times in a quality car. Again, if my local dealer tunes in here at times. Thanks guys and girls for your true committed to customer care, it's greatly appreciated. Well, that's great news!! And hopefully it stays that way! Those rattles and noises are bloody annoying, yet there so simple. They ruin a prefectly good car to Once again, great to hear about a good dealer. Shows that some dealers arn't just "all talk". Will PM you on fishnet!
  18. No air bags have gone off just heavy rear end damage. Apparently it is going to be towed to Riverwood (NSW) assessment centre. Where is that? It's in Sydney, actually it's not far from where I live....

  20. Cant this thread be locked or deleted now. It's just flame wars.....and all was well in here untill this thread was created...
  21. Haha, this reminds me of when I went to thredbo a few months ago when we hired a Kulger. The road in at night at early morning was like a zoo. We left around 5 in the morning, and had to dodge heaps of animals. We ended up running over 1 rabbit (which was its fault, it actually ran out infront of us) Thats one less though...which is good... We also had a close call with a wombat (Thats on thing i'd rather not hit). I was waiting for a roo next....lukily we made it out of there alive. Sad to see an Aurion like that Hopefully a good repair job is done
  22. Hmmm...just tried that...and it's not my problem!! My problem is a bit better after applying the silicon spray. I think I might try another type of spray on it soon.
  23. The NRMA member magazine has criticized Ford's new falcon. With Ford in trouble, they needed to prodce something that would impress. The FG is said not to be it. Ford are also confident that it will get a 5 star ANCAP rating. Although curtain airbags (Standard on EVERY aurion) are only standard on the premium models. It is also said to be the last fully australian built falcon. And its not even Wheels (Holdens mag) claiming that!! Also, anyone seen there new ute? Some people here thought the VE ute looked a shocker, this one looks half american...which isn't suprising.. More at: http://www.mynrma.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/mynr...d_fg_falcon.htm
