hello everyone,
my friend's in hong kong at the moment and hes picking up a new bodykit for his echo ( hehe )
and i want him to get me some stuff from hong kong, TRD grille and new rear bar and front lip,
does the hk version of our sportivo ( runx? ) have the same front lip as ours? and with the rear bar which one do you recommend that fits our stivo skirts and the lip? can i get a different lip from the sportivo one?
thanks!
yes HK has the runX. i've seen quite a few. most are auto and are the pre-facelift tho, haven't seen the facelifted versions yet. quite a rare car in HK. some of them have different headlights. still the same shape as the prefacelift stivo, but running the H4 bulbs without the bulb cap. i know TRD HK still has the CF TRD front grille in stock (1 or 2). not sure about the bumpers. the other thing is. with the rear bumpers, most of them have the muffler cutout at the wrong side of the car, that's if u get JDM rear skirt/bumper with the cutouts. obviously u could mod your exhaust to exit the passenger side if u wanted. if u want rear skirts/bumpers with the muffler cutout on the correct side, u might have to try the europeans.
Toyota Hong Kong does not sell the RUNX offically. The ones you saw were imported ones.

My thoughts on oil ....
1) The Toyota oil is made by ALMC (a combination BP and Caltex) of which is in Brisbane , they make a lot of oils to specification like Valvoline, BP, Caltex...... most oils are made there to the manufacturing specs. :)
2) using non Toyota oil could void your warranty. Honda uses this trick, they can test it for spectrum in a lab. There are many S2000 owners with blown up engines (5-6 in Brisbane due to a H issue. None of them seem to be replaced on warranty, any excuse, a track day, wrong oil ...... :(
just my thoughts.... B)
Dude, I don't agree with you.
It's stated in the car manual, (Corrolla manual, not sure it would be different in a Camry) , as long as we use the oil that follow the spec as specified in the manual, we will not have problem with the warranty.
As I remember it should be in the "Do it yourself maintainence" section of the manual.

i dont know what the exact colour of 6000k bulbs look like...
but the road rules only allow yellow or white coloured bulbs, they dont want blue.
if they see that they are obviously blue, you risk getting a fine
if brightness is what you are after, dont bother with these 'white/blue' bulbs...
they arent going to be any brighter, they might even be less bright than stock...
one option is to increase the wattage, but this isnt recommended as you may melt your wires.
ive got Narva Plus50s in my car, they arent 'White', but they are much brighter than stock :)
6000k is in WHITE, I got 7000k, a little bit in blue.

We have too many old players I think. We need some more young ones to step up into the National team. Notice how the other teams have a mixture of both young and old... we're mostly old although i think our Under 21 team is doing pretty well at International level. Good signs for the future.
It's a joy to see Australia in the world cup finally, especially after those dissapointing results in the previous qualifiers. It'll be an even better to joy to see them compete against the best in the world, whether they win or lose. I'll be waiting eagerly to see how the groups are formed. Let's hope we don't get put amongst the likes of Brazil, Germany, Italy, Spain, England, etc. But they'd be great matches to watch anyway.
One thing for sure though, is that our defence needs work on to stand a chance against any of these guys.
You can't reallye scape from the BIG names coz they will be SEED teams, so they are allocated to each group.
Yeah, BigBum. The defence definately needs some work. They are too old and bloody slow ~~

I doubt the information in the newspaper is correct. As in Hong Kong, the petrol price is no where near $1.32c per litre.
It costs AUD$2.20 per litre at all stations. I guess the 90 cents difference is the tax for the government.
Still, I think Aust's petrol price is not THAT high.
