  1. Thanks for all the inputs guys.

I had finally removed the sticker but there are still lots of sticky things left. I will remove them soon.

I used a blade, hopefully I didn't scratch the glass. I tried the hair dryer, it works fine, however, I had to keep blowing to the spot for the sticker to stick in one piece, which make my finger d@mn hot. So, I ended up using the blade itself, and do it bit by bit. :P

  2. I use a a little soapwater and only finger nails and it's out....

kelvin33, did you do it when your car was NEW ????

My car is 1 year old already, I got it in March 2004. I tried what you said when I was doing a car wash, but failed to remove it. :(

  3. Anyone has any idea of how to remove the stupid dealer sticker on my rear glass :( This had been annoyed me since I got the car from day 1. I just didn't have the time to get rid of it. It sticks as a rock on the glass.

Any suggestion on tools to remove it without scatching the glass? I tried with my fingernail, doesn't really work. :(

Btw, I got my car from Chatswood Toyota, Sydney.

  4. hi bill, i am having the post face lift. Got it 2 weeks ago.... the rattling only comes on when you drive pass bumpy roads, but it is perfectly fine on smooth roads...if you get what I mean....

Anyway, cheers!! you guys are fast in response :)

I got the same problem, too. :( when driving on bumpy roads. The noises are from somewhere behind the audio, some bolts maybe.

    Anyone got it fixed??

  5. In NSW i think they are illegal as i think the official wording is "they will be distracting to other drivers" can someone in NSW confirm ?????

Not sure about the law, but the "BLUE" light will definately attract the coppers. As we stated before, the blue is representing the emergency vehicle.

So, they will definately pull you over with such a big and bright blue light. A friend of mine got a Neon Honda badge "H"......on his boot. The copper followed his car for 5 mins, then pull him over :(

  6. Super Cheap Auto sells simular bulbs for 30 bux.

Other drivers around you will see a blinding white light with blue tinge  Behind the wheel, you don't see much.  I find the white light does not show as much detail as a yellow light like the standard globes or the Narva plus 50 range of globes.

HID are not those 30 bux light bulbs.......they are bright and clear :)

  7. Just curious, do you guys know when will the EVOIX will arrive in Australia?

xTiGeRx, have you thought of holding your purchase and get the EVOIX instead of a EVOVI??

The beast, has got MIVEC as well as Turbo.

Which is "Lift" + Turbo :blink:

    Can't imagine........

The car was so impressed in most of the test drives by the professinals.

    Wanna get one......... :P

  8. another question

sorry for posting such a stupid question but i have very little idea on how many of these parts work

any gain if i get the new spark plug?????

what do u say Danz

    cheers

I'm not DANZ, but I still wanna answer this, CAN I?? :o

New sparks like silver or iridium, they would give you better ignition and engine response. If you get new sparks with sparks leads, of coz they will do the work but I'm not sure they will give you much noticable power gain as much the CAI and CES.

Yeah, as XOOM said, clutch and flywheel are something to look into. But I guess, for the moment suspension upgrade is more important.

    Just my 1 cents :P :)

  9. Hahaha i wanna turn up too but i feel bad coz my cars probably the slowest car in

the group unless there are other Conquest and Accents are turning up......

    So are we welcomed???

I guess all fellow members are welcomed, :)

We are there to cruise, it doesn't really matter if you got the slowest car. The only problem maybe you found yourself left behind and you lost the group. :D :D :P :P

  10. Hi everyone, finally I got my car from Toyota after a long long waiting period.

But I found out there are some water drop indside the front head light ( the plastic, I hope u know what i am talkign) second day, then I talked to one of the manager in Nunamading Toyota (where I bought this car), he told me this could happen when it is new. A little trick which the sales told him when he bought a BMW with the same thing happend to him, turn the head light on and this would fix the problem, seal the gap of head light.

If this could fix the problem, I still wonder will they change the head light for me? Because I found the is some water mark inside the light already after the water dry out.

Then I rang the salesperson, he told me clam warranty.

So what should i do then? If that doens't happen again, but the mark stay inside. :(  :( .

How quick toyota will get the warranty done for this instance, I though just change the head light.

    Thanks for your listening.

There are some minor problems with the car as well, but I think I can only report to them when doing the first 1000km service.  :o  :o

NO , you should bring it back without hesistation <_<

Your one is a BRAND NEW one........just make sure you are happy.......just keep calling them.......or just bring the car in. And ask them to have a look. Remember, your car cost you alof of $$$$$$$

  11. so guys we CAN do the adjustments i have been told. if you have any problems, speak with the service manager.

if this is the story, then congrats to you guys.

But didn't westerntoyotatechnician just say they CAN do them on cars not purchased from them?

But anyway it doesn't matter cuz i am getting my local mechanic here to do it for me, labour is close to nothing and even a full clutch/flywheel install will only cost $250.  I rang Wollongong Toyota today they quoted me $700!!!!!!  Then i thought i will ring the Illawarra Business of the Year - Tory Toyota and they quoted me $610!!!!!!

WTF is wrong with them!!!! They will probably charge you $200 to get the clutch adjusted!!!

WTF??? yeah, right, it is highly possible that they are gonna charge $200 for those shxt.

Well, Zee.....give us some updates on your new clutch and flywheels man. ;)

Tells us how it feels ~

  12. It wasn't my intention in opening a can of worms by posting this item on this forum. I purchased my Stivo exactly two years ago in June 2003 and basically I've lived with certain issue for long enough and want them rectified without any hassles. It is now apparent to me that there are alot of upset and frustrated Toyota customers like me who just want what they paid for. I'm looking forward to hearing feedback from people who have had their car's fixed so that I can make an assessment for myself in finding a dealer that cares.

Well, man.....sorry to hear about what the dealers said. I understand how it feels, I was worried and upset before I got the problem fixed, as well as I felt frustrated by the quality of the car that my money were paid for.

Luckily, I got my problem fixed before those "shxxt" dealers made those "shxxt" decisions that they are not going to fix the problem for those who purchased their elsewhere.

Well, I have a thinking. Those dealers that refused to fix cars purchased else where was because the Toyota Australia was not paying them for this. What if we pay for the fixes? What I mean is, get a quote from the dealer on how much they gonna cost for those fixes. Then if you guys are up for it, maybe organise a group fixes and negotiate the price a bit ????

If the price is reasonable, I guess it worths to give it a go. That really makes you fall in love with your car again. .

    Just an idea........hope that helps.

  13. At 800ks i took my car to Mt. Keira and gave it good flooring to about 7800rpm.. i think that will be my run-in route for my next car if not i will atack Macquarie pass and its 2 dozen hairpins :D

Anyway, the thump is due to the clutch i think and your driving method..  The clutch in most Stivos are very abrupt (which i think has something to do with the shifting woes..), "thump-and-lurk" as described by some.

    Z

I had a look at the map, the Macquaire Pass looks cool .... :D

Anyone knows if there are some nice twisties(mountain road) near in Sydney area?? :D

  14. ok  :(  i talked to ali today from sydney city toyota,

he didn't appear to know what i was talking about with clutch master cylinder adjustments.

basically all he said was bring the car in and they would have a test drive, i'm worried they won't even fault the problem because its mainly in lift it happens, and if they even rev the car that hard they will say "its not under normal driving conditions"

can anybody give me the details of somebody i can talk to who knows the exact problem and fix for it or can even give me the details of the adjustment needed to the master cylinder so it can be done myself ?

    cheers,

      Andrew

Well, Ali is the one who actually get my problems fixed~~

I didn't specify the clutch master cylinder adjustment, I just told him what gear shift problem I have, and he said he will bring the car in and have a check for me.

Finally, he got the gear selector cable and knob replaced, clutch height adjusted , etc.....

  15. I have had problems changing gears at both low and high RPM pretty much from new. I had the Stivo serviced the other week and had the clutch adjusted as it was notchy. Since I've had the car back I can't feel any improvement, if fact it feels worse. Can any Sydney-siders who have had theres fixed suggest a good dealer to have my car serviced properly ? Thanks.

Sydney City Toyota ~~~ :) I had replying the same messages for a few times.

Nevermind, give ZeeRolla and Blue_Stivo a shout. I had talked about this with before. Haven't got any updates from them lately. Wanna see how they go with it, or if they still haven't contacted the Sydney City Toyota, maybe you guys can organise a Group FIX. :D :D :P
