  1. If you're having trouble locating a brand one, you could always get an exhaust shop to do a custom CAI which will likely end up being the same price or even less and you can have it how you want. Just be sure to keep the intake size either 2.75" all round or if you use 3", have a 2.75" reducer at the MAF sensor so it doesn't cause issues.

  12. Not much to add this update. Don't get much time these days to work on the car as much as I used to or I'd like but I'm sure I'll eventually have more time. Used the long weekend effectively and got myself some new parker LEDs since the el cheapo eBay ones were absolute garbage and would stop working after maybe a month or two. Pretty much looks the same as the eBay ones, maybe a tad bit brighter but still not intrusive as if I'd have them as my driving lights. Also took the opportunity with the great weather to wash the car after it had sat in the rain for the last few weeks. Before the clean, it had a nice noticeable layer of dirt all over it from the rain. The snow foam quickly got rid of most of it before I washed it and eventually applied another quick spray coating over the car for good measure. Also managed to squeeze in an oil change as it was due for one and I was pretty excited to get into it been the first time doing one at my new place. All went well as expected unlike that time last year. I couldn't use the entire garage yet as my partner and I have quite a few house projects and working towards getting more storage so the first quarter or so was enough to get the car in, jacked up and on stands. Other than that, still have a few things I need to do when I get time so I'll be sure to keep the thread updated. Stay tuned.
  13. Yes a 6 speed from a Sportivo will work on a 1zz. As far as I remember it should be a direct bolt on but unsure if there maybe slightly different sensors etc.
  14. The irony of it being on April 1. Imagine if Toyota pulled the greatest April fools prank on us all 😆
  15. Yeah I got my extra 2 bottles, couldn't say no to 2 6L bottles for $80. Think I've definitely got enough spares for now, maybe not as much as you Tony by the sounds of it 😆
  16. Had a productive day last week. Had a day off work and managed to re-seal both the headlights along with replacing my flickering LED parker and cabin filter. I've since come to find that one of the headlights seems to still get condensation in it but even after rain overnight, it surprisingly didn't have any today when I checked which I found very strange. I'll keep and eye on it since I was pretty confident I re-sealed all the spots I found which had gaps or looked suspect. Finally went back through Nasho after a while, first time from my new place and the drive wasn't that much longer compared to where I used to live despite being almost 15kms longer. Got to catch up with some good mates I haven't seen for a while and cruise through since the recent weather had caused a fair amount of rubbish to go all over the place. That weekend I got some free time to wash the car along with re-applying some HydrO2 sealant given that the weather would be clear enough for a few days. I definitely need to do a decon wash fairly soon since I've found a few odd spots here and there that I'm not quite happy with so hopefully when I have another day to myself I can get it done. Anyway, here are some standard wash photos. Stay tuned.

  18. Not much to update. Weather has been super rubbish lately along with adjusting to home ownership hasn't left me with too much time to clean or work on the car. I did however complete a recent trip up to the Hunter not long ago and had no major issues what so ever having done roughly 300kms or so within 2 days which has been the most I've done in a long time. With all the recent rain, both of the headlights have once again started to show signs that the seal is split so I've got the sealant ready to go this weekend if the weather holds off to take the lights out again and check for any gaps. The drivers side is currently the worst and seems to be long the entire bottom edge and the left hand side of the light and the passenger side seems to be fine but I have seen some condensation appearing in small spots. Oddly enough it's been fine through a heap of the rain earlier in the year but I guess with this much rain it cried enough so I'll get it fixed asap to make sure the lenses remain in the best condition. Here are some photos that pretty much sum up the last few weeks. Stay tuned.

  20. Thanks a lot Tony! We feel we got a pretty good deal all things considered. It is an older place but it's in really great shape and doesn't need any major structural work or anything and has heap of great features that we fell in love with. Ah nice! I managed to secure one of our spare rooms as my hobby room/man cave so I was more than happy with that. It's in a horrid state at the moment but hopefully over the next few weeks it'll be all nicely setup. Yeap I was pretty chuffed too seeing as I'd had a busy weekend already and the weather cleared for long enough and at the right time to squeeze it in. I've never thought to use the wheel cleaner there but I'll definitely give it a go next time I give it a wash.
  21. Long time no updates but here we are now, first update of 2022. Nothing new in terms of modifications yet. I do have some mods in mind, mostly just replacement parts for worn down items that I've never had the chance to replace before. I've been super busy with work and life lately especially starting a new job last year and buying a home and moving out left me with not a lot of time to do all too much with the Sportivo. All of this couple with rubbish weather meant the car was in a pretty dirty state for most of January and most of this month too until yesterday when I managed to get a nice bit of clear weather and a free 2 hours to give the car a good clean. Used some wheel cleaner which I don't use every wash and got a pretty good reaction on the front wheels. The rear wheels not so much so I saved it just for the tyres on the rear really. First time snow foaming at the new house. I think I did get a few odd looks here and there from people driving in and out of the street 😂 And the final product! Was really pleased to see the HydrO2 coating still going strong, not so much on the rear bumper but the rest of the car still had a nice strong beading effect albeit, it may not be as smooth as it would normally be. I'm hoping this year I'll be able to steam clean and coat my Recaro seats along with doing a decomtamination wash to really cleanse the paint. Other than that, stay tuned.
  22. The only other things I could think of is that it could be power steering but the best way would be to get underneath and have a look in all honesty. I'd definitely say it's highly likely something to do with the timing case or another part within there causing it if you've never replaced the gasket before unfortunately.
  23. When you say running over something, does it also make quite a loud clunk noise when doing so? If it still drives it could be a differential issue which may explain the gearbox not allowing reverse as well.
  24. Well that's 2021 wrapping up. Managed to get a wash done a day or so ago since I have some time off work after another busy Christmas. Decided to apply the HydrO2 coating once again since I felt it was starting to get a bit weak but it was actually still holding on quite well as I noticed it beaded rather well during the rain. From memory I last applied it in October so it lasted well over 2 months and it still seemed to bead but I am doubtful of the 6 months they advertised on the packaging. Pretty happy with how it turned it considering how dirty it ended up from all the on and off rain we've had. Also managed to get some black grub screws so I'll be installing one to hold my gauge in instead of the oversized bolt I have currently. Hope you all have a great New Year and I'll update the thread in 2022.
  25. Great review Rob. What's the rough estimate of how long it will last before you'd need to reply? Would be very curious.
