  1. all i want to say is, ive got more experience compared to p platers because of driving in europe and track experience overseas. i can take a corner at 200 if its suitable for those speeds. just because i wanted my limitor removed, it doesnt mean im trying to be a hero or that im breaking the speed limit everyday and trying to be a bad image for the site and other p platers. im not saying im a pro also. everything got fired up because some people that know nothing about me thinks im a typical p plater that has crashes or gets booked here and there. im not trying to prove anything. all i want is my limitor removed. if it needs to be removed by someone else i wouldnt care. limitor off limitor on, makes no difference to me. the car has ok grunt compared to its class, so it does its job. the best way of driving fast is on the track without getting tickets and putting peoples life at tisk. and i certainly do prefer speeding on the track then on the local streets. some people just need manners and should treat other members nice before they open their mouths because im only 19 and others are over 21 with supposably more experience. peace

  2. Mate last time i checked you needed a full licence to be able to get an international licence. Now you being on your P's, i thought you go from P's to blacks, not the other way around. So tell me how were you driving on those roads? Was it illegally? Or was someone else driving and you were in the passenger seat? There is a big difference and your history on the forum tends to make us not believe that you have driven on these roads and done these courses.

Always comes back to the boy that cried wolf!!! :whistling:

    Haha

    Mmm Licencing...

He's had his track experience, he's done 240km/hr...

What's your CAMS licence number champ? And why do you still drive an Automatic car???

Someone of your skill could surely drive a manual? Or have you got one of those auto-only P-plate licences??

And nobody thinks you're awesome when you do 240km/hr on a public road

i never said i have a cams license. i said i would like to get one. i have 2 licenses. one full turkish license and my australian ps license. my license in turkey is full and its accepted as international. thats how i drove in austria and germany, using my turkish license. kapish?

  3. lol good luck on both accounts for getting it removed and hitting over 240km/h (I expect you would do the sensible thing and taking it to a space shuttle landing strip?), should aim for 300km/h and then you can claim to feel the speed of an F1 driver..... Richard Hammond will be proud of you ;).

it was scary enough hitting 220-230km on a performance vehicle (Skyline R34 with alot of handling mods) I cant imagine on a lumbering family car! (stock)

your so funny that you dont know that stock to stock aurion is more reliable than r34 at high speeds. if you got the balls bring your r34 to the freeway and see the result for yourself.

Wow... I think you just proved how much of a d1ckhead you really are... Congrats. :yahoo:

I think we have a new WOTM

youre very mature. where do you learn these cool jokes? sad.

  4. i wanted it to be removed so that i can see how fast it can really go. ive got experience from germany and turkey autobahns so for those that think i got no experience because im on my ps, your wrong. i have received track driving lessons in austria. i have not took the aurion to the track here yet because of my studies as i got no time for that at the moment. plus im not going to risk over 240 on the eastern freeway. only place is the nt and road trip towards queensland. one slight bump on the road ofcourse at over 240 is critical but those that got nothing to do but give **** to people, dont tell me you guys dont speed. i do think of the loved ones and it does sound crazy for australians because you guys have never seen those speeds but its quite normal in europe. why do you think freeways are 100 kmh limited down here?? because australians have low experience. i just wanted to share somethng with you guys and all i get is hassle. dont think the aurion is not safe at high speeds. it is. its all up in the drivers hands.

  5. hitting 220 in a aurion is nothing.. feels fine.. stearing feels light thats about it..

I have yet to find a speed limiter on the aurion.. 240 is as fast as i have gone in it.. if you want to go faster your crazy..

Yes i did this legally.. NT only put limits on there open road not long ago :)

Your skyline r34 must of been ****.. :P

thought they were speed limited to 180 factory default

r34s are ****. ive youve seen 240 on the aurion it should kick in a bit after that. removing the limiter is the easiest thing. just gotta have spare time to get it done. also need a cam to record and post for the idiots that think limiter removal is hard.

  7. Since the Aurion and Camry are so similar are these problems occuring in the Camry as well??

my passenger seat (zr6 seats) make a funny electric noise when moved forward compared to the driver seat also the middle console sometimes rattles when you rest your left leg when driving the car. everything is well apart from those 2 noises im happy :) no leaf noises from the aircon at all. going for its first service very soon so i should get those checked out. also im going to ask if they can remove my top speed limiter. i havent reached 240kmh and over yet as im going to go for it after the service.

  8. Im pretty sure I saw a video like this a while back but the car was a prius and it was in japan.

    Pretty cool though!

i have to say i am totally amazed. that technology is crazy :S we would definately see that in the future toyotas i believe. one thing im wondering about lexus is that why the hell did they introduce an 8 speed transmission??? wasnt 6 or 7 enough???

  9. sorry to hear about all those problems in such a new car. i guess its a bit of unluckiness. i would skitz it at the dealer if that happened to me. i would give that dealer to current affairs for selling a lemon. so unlucky. ive got a zr6 in gold. luckily its problem free. this is my second toyota and have had no problems till this time. what could be done for you to be satisfied???

  10. Well ofcourse they're gunna use that number lol...

They should be back on the road soon... All getting fixed now...

went to see the trd for real at the dealership near heidelberg and was impressed with the wheels and colour. the interior didnt impress me at all. i liked the back diffuser design however when i focused on the exhaust tips, i saw the actual exhaust tip inside which was like a 2 inch tip and was disgustn for a car like that. not so good for a car that costs that price.

  11. silver prodigy do you mind telln us how much it cost for that setup and installation?? cheers,

After some discussion, I was able to get the job done around $3,300 (gear + install). It will depend on the gear you select, the type of installation you want, etc. If you see them now, you'll find most of the brands would have just released new models, so the price could cary a premium. Keep in mind what you want from the system and they should be able to tailor to your requirements. By the way, they were able to get the install done in a day. Good luck!

thanks for the info share. great stuff. are you going to post any photos of the system??

  12. Shell V-Power Racing will initially be available at selected Coles Express service stations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Canberra.

    ...

Thanks for the info - I will try the one at Tulla one day, just for testing. As mentioned in one of my post before, my Shell card can't pay for V-Power Racing, must come out from my pocket.

    Regards,

    BH

whats the advantages of shell card ? plz explain :D

  13. Talk to the guys at GL Pro Sound (www.glprosound.com.au) who did the stereo upgrade for my prodigy. Very impressed with the results and installation. Did not change the head unit as i wanted to keep the look "factory", but also ensure that I retain the steering wheel controls for the audio. All that was needed was the Rockford Fosate 3Sixty.1 unit to connect the head-unit wit the amps.

Upgraded the front and back speakers with MB Quart Premium splits and speakers. Added 2x 12inch Rockford Fosgate subs. You'll lose about 40% of boot space, but you still have more than enough for your daily use and the bass is huge! The subs and speakers are powered by two Rockford Fosgate amps.

These guys know they're car audio. I got mine upgraded back in April. One of the reasons I selected these guys because they do the Sat-Nav upgrades to the Aurions for a nearby Toyota dealer. So they have the experience with Aurion installs.

The guys at Tower Audio are pretty good too.

  14. My former car was a VY Calais and my wifes car is a current model VW Golf. The horns on these two car's sound like their off a Mack Truck compared to the Aurion.

Maybe I'm all too used to a ballsy car horn but when its needed you want it to be noticed. Not that you have to sit on the horn to get the desired effect before someone changing lanes "without using mirrors" almost side swipes your car (which is what almost happened to me today) .

my new aurion train horn system lawlll :P this is what we need in victoria.

lol i remeber one of my friends at uni telling me they did this and I thought it was BS, but now i see it is possible

i would go around doncaster and start horning around 3am lawl. wat if someone dies from heart attack :S eheheh

  16. i didnt take my car to a complimentary service at 1000kms. i thought that there was no real need to take it as i barely drive it and ive always seen no feedback from 1000kms as ive always done it on my previous cars so no worries for me. the first service sticker on my top right front window says 10000kms so thats what im waiting for. after 10000kms, im going to start opening her up bit by bit. btw a question for all. a friend of mine lost his license by copping 2 fines in one day by the cameras. one of them was at 141kmh, 6 months license suspension and the other fine was on the same place 5 mins later on the way back and he was going at 161kms, he got 12 months for that fine. so 2 fines. one says 6 months and the other says 12 months suspension. so im guessing he lost it for 12 months not 18 right? what happens if he gets caught on the road driving during that 12 month period?? does he get another suspension on top of the original 12 months suspension???

  17. There is some sort of vacuum operated butterfly valve in the air intake. Im assuming that this only opens under heavy acceleration. Was thinking about ditching the butterfly. Some sort of custom made funnel that directs air from behind the grill up to the intake would surely increase flow into the airbox. The size of the air intake is quite small so any way of diverting more air into it would surely be a benefit to the huge bore throttle body.

The stock toyota filter looks pretty restrictive and there is also another filter in the top of the airbox before the throttle body. I think increasing the air flow to the box on the standard set up is the best way to go.

without a supercharger or turbocharger forcing extra air under pressure into the engine increasing the air flow capacity to the engine will do nothing at all. The vac butterfly is for warm air on cold start and works well without causing enough of a restriction to worry about with any non supercharged engine anyway. this whole CAI business is an aftermarket accessory rip off using dubious science and dodgy claims

im calln it quits for now for the intake mod. i dont want to risk it at this moment as car is only on 7000kms and has the 10000km service to go into. the engine is still quite brand new and needs full break in. that will happen after the 10000km service. as i know after it opens up, the sound of the car slightly gets better and ofcourse the car can then reach its potential on high octane fuel. about changing the exhaust system, i dont want a raw sound like honda accords etc. i want it to be quite below high revs and when you pass 4000rpm its gonna start screaming like the bmws do on their 2500cc + motors. all sound around all revs is something that will make the aurion look cheap imo.

  18. Haven't driven a standard Aurion. A mate from toyota brought a TRD home so invited me round to check it out properly without a salesguy in the car ;)

no sales guy = a lot of gunning :P when is that **** gonna have awd. aurion has so much potential. brakes, suspension, power and awd will make it complete. plus they will give fpv and hsv a hard time in sales so i hope they bring it along in a couple of years with awd. lets keep our fingers crossed shall we :)

  19. He's probably too busy doing AWD burnouts in the factory like Buri's dad...

I took one of the TRD's for a spin the other night, they handle suprisingly well and the auto's pretty damn good too in manual mode. Just enough wheelspin off the line etc etc. The seats look good but are a bit of a letdown when driving compared to something like an STI seat.

rollamods dont get my dad involved in this :P jk i want to go and test drive one as well. want to see the difference. i dont think its gonna impress me too much though. did it impress you with its power gain over standard aurion???

  20. fek it. all colors look good. as long as new buyers dont make the wrong choice with color, are happy with the decision and care for the car, thats all that matters i guess. oww by the way this morning, i was getting home from a friends joint and saw a red aurion sportivo couldnt decide if it was sx6 or zr6 but i high beamed to say hello and he high beamed back. it was near templestowe high school. red zr6 anyone? lol

  21. looks awesome. 20 inch looks great. do you guys think chrome would look good on gold??? im thinking it would. just wanted to get your ideas?

I think chrome wheels would look good on a gold Aurion, there is already a small amount of chrome on the aurion so the wheels would compliment the car. After owning and modifying many cars myself I know you can never satisfy all the critics, I guess at the end of the day all that counts is that your happy with the cars looks.

i thought of the exact same thing to be honest. i thought of black 20s but that would look too pimp and would make the car look cheap personally. either chrome or silver would look mint. thanks for the opinion.
