  1. One of the girls at my work bought herself a new car recently. She was going to get silver but when she saw the same model in black she fell in love with it.

Just a 2 months later she took it back and traded it in on the silver one, and lost a few thousand dollars in the deal. All because she hated how dirty it always looked, even though she washed it each weekend.

The Aurion comes in that magnificent gold - personally I would go for that colour over black if you were getting the Sportivo.

all of my previous cars have been black and ive loved every single one of them. the thing about em is that they show dirt very easily and needs a wash once a week if its a daily car. the scratches, if they are not deep can be removed. i bought a non black car for the first time in my life and i realised that it stays cleaner for longer than a black car bviously, but if you take care of black, youll love it. Nothing beats black imo but i hated black on the urion. not all cars look good in black. btw even though my car is gold i still wash it once a week so if you get black, wash baby wash lol. get the color that appeals the most to you. gold is awesome ill tell you that much.

  2. After some work with paintshop and consulting with my wife (the minister of finance & entertainment) I think we have found the wheels for us.

    post-5511-1191399195_thumb.jpg

looks awesome. 20 inch looks great. do you guys think chrome would look good on gold??? im thinking it would. just wanted to get your ideas?

  3. oh mighty keyboard warriors get back to ur neutral corners ....... guys this is the internet ....everyone talk S.h.i.t ..... get over it ......

i think they might b wrong mate as im sure ive seen 2 on da road and im guessing there would be more than 3 sold via the other states

maybe the article was old. maybe they did sell more than 5 by now. i saw 2 as well brother . one in silver on a semi trailer near spencer st and a red sl version near doncaster. red impressed me the most.

  4. where are the pics??? btw did you guys know till this time only 5 aurion trds have been sold out of 150. i find that hard to believe.

Did your dad tell you that?

Because he's wrong, they've already sold 11 to the QLD coppers.

whats with your attitude? no, one of the car news websites wrote it. + thats the coppers. im talking about general customers here. which makes you wrong.

  5. You can turn off trac control by following the steps below. I posted this up a while ago in another thread.

THe method below works. But you need to do each time you start the car if you want the TC off. By default it turns back on each time you start the car.

    1. Make sure the car is in Park and the parking brake is disengaged before you start the car.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Engage the parking brake.

    4. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.

    5. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.

    6. Disengage the parking brake.

    7. Fully depress and hold down the brake pedal.

    8. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal).

    9. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal).

    10. Release the brake pedal.

    11. Engage the parking brake.

    12. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.

    13. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.

Its a bit convoluted, but i tried it and i works.

    Totally changes the driving experience.

looks like the ECU looks at the hand brake and foot brake signal for the right combination before it disengages the TC. I'm sure someone could come up with a device that sends the same signal by splicing into the two signal wires. You'd have to figure out how to turn it back on without turning off the car. that would be cool.

Boy... it sounds like ur opening a safe...

couldnt they have made it a little simplier?

    button on button off...

    Just a thought...

does the abs still work if u do that...

or is there another way of turning the abs off for a little more fun :spiteful:

where are the pics??? btw did you guys know till this time only 5 aurion trds have been sold out of 150. i find that hard to believe.

  6. we should make up an aurion website. dont you guys think??? someone do a poll and if its well picked up one of us with web design abilities should make it. that way it will be more organised. aurion meets etc. would be nice.

You're not suggesting that you set up a totally separate website from "au.toyotaownersclub.com", are you??

This forum is a fairly organised forum, even with the meets!

yeh, a seperate website. i love this website as you said its very organised but i want to it to be just based on aurion. it would be more individual.

  7. Should check the 1/4 mile database...........and are those figures correct before the ecu fix (apparantly we were missing about 20kw)??

It also comes down to how you drive it.......keep in lift and expect a low 15......miss it and it will be a high 15

I can do 0-100km/h in about 7.5s with another passenger

the ecu issue.....good point, b4 the ecu recall was done on my car, i was equal to 1zz rolla in lift!! and it wasnt bout driver skill too, at start i was loosing abit and when lift kicked in we both pulled the same speed

believe me ive dragged holdens in my mates corolla 1.8 and ripped em from take off. corolla is heaps lighter and front wheel drive. when you add lightweight and front wheel drive together they are amazing. holdens are slow. you wouldnt have a problem taking them on unless they are a v8 :)

  8. Can anyone help me? I've just discovered my Presara has a flat battery (after my having left the map light on for a few days between using the car) and so I chose to disconnect the battery in order to charge it off another car before reconnecting it; which I did in order to elliminate the risk of a voltage surge frying the computer etc.

Now I have a car that beeps 5x short discrete beeps from the left hand rear speaker every time I start or stop the engine. Has anyone else had this happen to them and if so what is the car trying to tell me? I cannot find anything in the owners manual about this...

    Cheers

just recharge or get a new battery. problem solved :) i guess its a safety thing that it lets you know when your on low battery.

  9. Link didn't seem to work, try this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-AURION-DOOR-...1QQcmdZViewItem

It doesn't matter what colour your car is, it says "LETTERS are punched so the colour of your car will show through"

SO if your car is blue, they appear blue etc (not red if youre car is not red)

I know for a fact this will void all warrenty unless Toyota fit them.

I was told by a TRD tech that they will be releasing the super charger to bolt onto normal aurions but it will come at a price..

    Around $10,000 inc install

i would just trade it in for the trd version than spendn 10 grand on a supercharger kit.

  10. Howdy all, I've seen people in various posts discuss how they'd like to have DVD and/or Sat Nav in their Aurion. Well I stumbled on an aftermarket solution that looks factory.

  11. No problems. I am happy to pay for the domain name and set things up but customising is a job for a web designer.

If anyone has any name suggestions put them forward. The site will require an Admin to manage it all however.

I just finished a course in basic web design, and am quite good with that sort of stuff. Definantly better out there, that is for sure. I scored fairly high marks, but it was only based on simple HTML, and not much flash. And when its comes to complicated scripts; im out!

As for managing it, that would be fairly simple.

Goodluck with it, will be interesting to see how it turns out (if it happens). :toast:

ive got 2 names at the moment but will not reveal till i decide if i will do it or not. if someone is going to start designing it soon, pm me for some good domain names :)

  12. we should make up an aurion website. dont you guys think??? someone do a poll and if its well picked up one of us with web design abilities should make it. that way it will be more organised. aurion meets etc. would be nice.

I would be interested in hosting it for free for a while (i own a web hosting business) if someone is prepared to design the site and manage it.

my close friend also owns a web/graphic business and he probably could design it for me but managing i dont know much about. ım sure it would be easy once i learn how its done. ill see what he can do about it.

  13. as for the hard shifting it will only force you to shift hard from just say p to r when the car is parked on a down angle road or parked on a steep hill with the hand brake not in use.

I think you missunderstand what Im saying - it seems to shift harder when driving in D - most likely due to the cold shift strategy ie holding a few more revs when cold. Odd really, I would think it would short shift when cold...

As for the flaring being a "feature", that is the sort of cr@p that some service people roll out to deflect car owners form the truth. Flaring 1000rpm between any gear in any driving mode is not a feature, its an error.

When I booked the car in I asked of they would expect to see an error code relating to this sort of behaviour or have to see the baviour. Initially they said they would have to see it, but I told them they would'nt as I'd already driven to the dealership and it would have warmed up and they wouldnt see it. They then admitted they would look for a fault code.

    Features dont produce fault codes.

Its booked for tomorrow, I'll let you know how I go.

    The Pig

my bad i understood wrong. if its shifting hard up and down on D then most likely it is a fault. i hope it gets fixed.

  14. I read the new TRD Aurion is supposed to be speed limited to 250kmh!

Thats proabably a hint that all are or the standard Aurion wont hit 250kmh with stock gearing which is likely enough.

find a way to remove the speed limiter and it would be easy to hit 250kmh.

  15. i have noticed in my ZR6 is that when the transmisson is cold it takes longer for it to shift to differnt gears.

for example when its in first and im driving the revs are like 2200 and changes to second after a delay of 5 or more seconds.

this is in D by the way

that doesnt sound rıght. myne never did or does that.

  16. Hi All

I am a bit concerned at the behaviour of my ZR6 transmission when cold.

Firstly, it shifts a bit harder when cold - is that normal? I expect so but am not certain.

Tha main issue is this - changing from 3rd to 4th when cold the transmission "misses", or hesitates to select 4th, resulting in a moment or two in between gears, ie in neutral. Once the gap was big enough for me to get two stabs on the accelerator before finding 4th. My wife - who is not car savvy shall we say - said "thats not good..."

This is a problem - has anyone else experienced this?

I am setting up my first visit back to the dealer this week (about 4k on the clock). Naturally I will ask them to look at it. Does anyone know if I should expect a fault code on the computer if they plug in the diagnostics? I have a feeling they will take it 'round the block and say "Nup, we couldnt find it" but if there's a code to read then no argument (hopefully).

    Any advice welcomed,

    Cheers

    The Pig

as for your transmissions safety. i do not recommend you to use sport mode very often before 10000kms. as for the hard shifting it will only force you to shift hard from just say p to r when the car is parked on a down angle road or parked on a steep hill with the hand brake not in use. when the car is not level on the road, parked, i recommend you to engage your hand brake to the max so that when you get ın the car agaın and u want to shift, you will shift smooth and then let go of the handbrake. that way it will not make u shift from p to r with big force. so when your parked on a level road just say at the shops or somethıng. you wouldnt need to use the hand brake and when you get ın the car agaın, you should be able to shift softly. if it still shifts hard on a level road, then you got a problem. Hope my advice helped. dont forget to not use sport when the car ıs cold.

  17. Normally you look at the tacho and shift when the needle is near redline Just make sure you don't focus on it so closely that you block everything else out and crash

hahah true. no noise at redline to change gears. just gotta look and change at the right time.
