  1. Hey guys after some help. I have a 2002 Toyota Hilux LN167R 5 speed manual. I had it in 4x4 the other day and when trying to take out of low 4 when trying to select h4 or h2 , it would not go in if you released the clutch you would hear the gears grind not go into gear properly.does anybody know any fix which does not require a new transfer case. Regards Leshby

  6. Hello I have a ln167r toyota hilux 3.0 5le turbo diesel. Has just been rebuilt with recon turbo new bottom and brand new head and new injection pump. Everythinh is fixed and new and i cannot get it over 100km/ph. Would always get over it before the motor blew. Now as you take off it feels like someone has hooked a semi behind it so it is pulling it. Just seams gutless. I don't know whats going on. Its driving me crazy
  7. Found fault was fuel heater broken wire. Have pulled the pump and is being tested. Am ripping the head and having it check out by a different engine builder as i have bubbles in radiator. The block is fine. Bought hed from another company in mackay and have had most of the dramas since then. Am really heartbroken about this whole expensive experience. It has also made me hate second hand cars and dodgy people who bandaid the problems.
  8. The head gasket failed caus of dodgy work including cracked head. I bought a lemon. Person who owned it previously did so much dodgy work on everything. Im fixing past issues. I have redone the motor properly including new injectors i havnt touched the pump at all. It had the turbo installed poorly. Got a chip behind glovebox. Had to take 10 thou off the head ad pistons. I have it at a shop to put on dyno and run diognostics. Hope all goes good. And cheap. I have already renamed it BOAT = Bring Out Another Thousand.
  9. Hello. I have a 2002 hilux ln167r 3.0 5leturbo diesel. It blew head gasket so we stripped it down for rebuild new pistons rings bearings everything new motor. Also the turbo was stuffed and rebuilt Now back in car i have a check engine light and about half the power ( i think limp home mode). Worked fine b4 rebuild now?
  10. Hey manxman. Is the rev range correct. I presumed it would b lower. Is the tire sizes ok. Is there anything i can do to reduce the fuel consumption. I am having the turbo housing and exhaust manafold ant part of exhaust to next joint ceramic coated to cut down heat.
  11. Hello I had a toyota hilux ln167r 4x4 dual cab diesel 3.0 5l with turbo fitted. My fuel economy is really bad. I have only had this vehicle for 6 months and am learning about diesels. When driving at 100 km/h the engine is reving at 3000 rpm. Which i consider to be high. It sounds like its working to hard. The tyres on the car are 31 x 10.5 r15 lt. The speedo seems to be 5 kms over at 100. So when doing 100 kmh im doing 105 kms . Is there anything i can do or change to bring the revs down and conserve fuel.
