  1. I have a unichip in my car which was put in by the previous owner. I did intake, headers and exhaust first and then did the unichip. this was done years ago before there were other viable options for replacement ECUs. I think I have scans of dyno runs before and after the ECU change and there is a small power gain, but a much smoother curve. If I find them, I will try to post it up
  2. I got the Xtreme chromoly flywheel a few years ago when i needed to get my clutch changed. the car felt a little bit more responsive, fuel consumption seemed to go up very very slightly, but was probably me enjoying the lightweight flywheel. my fuel consumption is now back to where it used to be (maybe me driving more sedate). From memory it was about $400 back then for the chromoly, but i didnt even look at getting an aluminium and shipping was 2 days from adelaide.
  3. reconditioning starter Pro: price, environment (not throwing away something that could be repaired) cons: ?? are there any
  4. Cause mine is dying... Its at the mechanics from this afternoon and they had a quick look and it is definately the starter motor, they are looking further into it in the morning and i am just finding out some details for then. Basically the symptom is the key is turned the starter motor sounds like its just free spinning and not turning the engine over...and if i stop and turn the key a few times, eventually it will turn over the engine.
  5. I will be needing a new starter motor for my Corolla Sportivo, are Manual 1zz starters the same as manual 2zz starter?? Thanks Guys
  6. It can only load as fast as the data can get pulled off of the HDD. Even though you now have a SATA drive which the cable supports faster bandwidth, the boot time may be limited by the data coming off the platters
  7. I am currently at 135,000kms still without any gearbox problems, but the clutch was swapped out for exedy HD very early on and thats all its been running since. I know it copped a beating by Danthuyer before I bought it, but I also know he took care of it.
  8. When I bought my car from Danthuyer, I am pretty sure he said that if you hold the gear knob in the reverse position it doesn't pop out (as you are preventing it) and it does go into lift.
  9. More importantly, he will beat Virgin into space with the Kebab-ship
  10. Having "road work ahead" signs and parked police cars and 40kph signs for like a kilometre and by the time you get to the supposed road works, there is only a parked truck on the side of the road, not even within metres of the shoulder and no workers to be found. No wonder road works take weeks to complete and the state budgets are tight. The council should fire all mangers and supervisors and get whip crackers in...and upper management for letting it get this way to start with.
  11. From memory the facia is about $280 to buy from Toyota, I know someone who works in Servicing and I am pretty sure their buy price was around $190ex.
  12. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/...mborghinis.html "One of only two Italian police Lamborghinis has been written off following an accident. The £150,000 Gallardo super car which was just a year old and complete in blue and white police colours, was involved in a smash..."
  13. *** LWX White Corolla Sportivo with wing tips and looked like CES Exhaust turning onto Gympie Rd towards city from Beams Rd about 10 mins ago
  14. I quick drive around Mt Nebo can have a few decent shots along the way. Shopping centre car parks at night are usually well lit, there are some train racks and shipping containers stacked up just off kingsford smith dr.
  15. If I buy me a place in it and cannot attend can i sell my position to someone else? I am really interested in the driver training course. If this one sells out will more be available, seeing as it was popular? Do i need an AASA license and how is one obtained?
  16. I had a 1988 Nissan Laurel. I bought it from a mates older brother who got a company car with his new job. Paid $1000, I owned it for a little over a year before deciding to upgrade to something newer. I sold it to my mate (the one whos brother I bought it from). I spent a bit of money getting it fixed up. RB20E engine, auto, Silver 2 tone with maroon velour interior. piller-less windows (no B piller), Power stearing, central locking, climate control, auto headlights, auto wipers. the car had lots of technology for an eighties car. I absolutely loved that car and wonder how it would have been if i spent $20K doing it up instead of buying a newer car...quick looked a lot like this car but much darker colour, more chrome, no B pillers, and a Laurel stick up emblem on the bonnet. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...1984_silver.jpg
  17. http://www.redchairsoftware.com/anapod/ is an alternative that i have played with once. Seemed good, but I only update once in a blue moon so I just deal with itunes
  18. I am pretty sure he grabbed the covers that get used on the lower model Corollas that don't get the fog lights and modified them to make them easy removal and insertion.
  19. Danthuyer (who I bought my car off) used to leave his fog light out to allow better flow to the CAI, but also had a cover for the hole for when it rained, which I am pretty sure was just a clip in peice.
  20. Is the the door that is broken or the whole facia that the door attaches to? Mine died a while ago and it is the facia that is broken so the reason for the high cost is that it is basically a replacement for the whole centre console moudling. If it is the plastic tab on the facia that is broken, you should be able to glue it back into place and pop the door back on, but you will need the spring to keep the door moving the way it should.
  21. belt tensioner should be making a noise only when the engine is under no load as when you put the engine under load it pulls on the belt. next time it is making the noise drive slowly and go on throtle and off throtle a few times and see if disappears when accellerating
  22. He says those members (which there are close to 13,000 members) and you jump to conclusion that it is you and he is a joke for doing it.. Way to play nice on the forums.
  23. I have a unichip in my car. I will see if i can find the before and after dyno runs.
