  1. Hi Dan, hmm so wire attached to the back of the switch. Well if possible I would be trying to follow them and see where they lead too. May be tough but if you can see the colours you may be able too trace their source, if you unplug them does anything change? If you have access to a multi-meter you could see if they are live, if not then I suppose only thing is too try and trace them. I hate mysteries and it would bug me until I knew what that was for.

  2. Hi Mate, Too my eyes it is a window lock, it locks all the windows mostly to stop children putting them up and down. By your post as you said you already have the switches on the drivers door panel it could just be a dummy switch fitted to fill a switch gap. I would remove and see if anything else is attached too it.

  3. Excellent plan mate, I do a 6-7 monthly decon wash and saw that the new TW rapid decon / wheel cleaner is fantastic from all the videos I have seen, but the prices these days is way out there so will be interested in what you end up using for all of your details. I am just about out of the last batch of iron remover so unless Tony has an online order service from his hoard I will have to let the moths loose from my back pocket 😄😄

  4. Thanks mate for the detailed post, I have not tried the ceramic washes at all as I prefer to use a good quality foam wash followed by a hand wash when required. Mostly these days I find my baby just needs a foam wash as I have the Turtle Wax Flex Wax Graphene coating on and any dirt (which is minimal) just washes off with the foam and pressure washer. I can see the benefits of the CarPro HydrO2 Foam as it is fast and gives some protection between washes so keep us updated as too how you have found it.

  5. Hi Arie I am sure many have read your previous post but in my opinion I would now be seeking an auto electrician as it does sound like a issue with relays not liking each other or the wiring harness so that is my suggestion try contacting an auto electrician yes will cost a bit but that is the price we have to pay for expert help at times.

  6. TY mate, yes she is still mint and I love keeping her that way. The head unit was pretty much my only alteration as the standard unit though good just didn't cut it map updates so expensive and I am a true lover of good sound quality as I cruise with my beloved. I still have the original unit and map DVD don't know why as I have no intention of selling Faye.

Thanks for the ego boost mate 😄😄

I do love to spend the time and OCD side of myself keeping Faye beautiful and in return she behaves herself each and every trip.

  7. TY Tony, Yes she still looks like it rolled out of Toyota all those years ago and now again glows. I was very surprised that after so long of no wash and windy cold days there was very little dirt on her except very low on the rockers and inner guards as the previous coating of Flex wax did its job and she washed very easy. Well considering yours is a daily driver mate she still looks wonderful so pat on the back too you Tony.

Ours is not out every day but my beloved and I do try to have a date day out once a week if possible so a short trip to a outdoor restaurant or coffee shop. Hope you manage to get the polish and coating done, always helps to have another pair of hands to speed up the process as it took me 2 days to give Faye a nice polish but that included sit down times for a coffee and looking at her start to glow again. The Flex Wax coating only took me about 2 hours in total slowly applying and buffing off.

The inside was easy as my wonderful lady cleaned the back seat area while I did the front, then I did all the leather and plastics cleaning as I love that part sitting and slowly detailing.

  8. Hi All, Well after months of rain freezing cold and plain laziness on my part, I finally got around to giving our "Faye" the TLC she had been missing, a excellent wash dry wheel clean and ended with a nice coating of Turtle Wax Graphene Flex Wax. She has her lovely glow back and I was very surprised when washing her just how much slickness there still was from a pervious detail with the Flex Wax. We had to go out so took some pic's to show how she came up and also some interior shots as well. For a lady now 13 years old our Presara "Faye" is still PERFECT in every way.

    Enjoy

  9. Hi Steve, Not many options that are really cheap that will fit perfect, I noticed there are many sales on at places like Supercheap Auto-barn and Repco so try some online searches for those places, another place too look is fitmycar.com who always have perfect fit floor mats but if I recall right they are pretty close in price to genuine. Good Luck with the hunt for a cheap set mate, as I remember my wonderful wife cutting up some carpet and edging them for a previous car we had so it is always an option.

  11. Tony I am sure you probably have 3 coolant funnels LOL knowing your massive hoard of all things bright and shiny mate. Yes same procedure for me will watch a few videos first make loads of notes and line up all I need then just pace myself doing everything in order. I am sure it will go fine but I am a fussy guy these days, so as with anything I do lately there will be coffee breaks sit and ponder breaks and then cleaning everything in sight breaks LOL

Hope all goes smooth and simple for you mate

  12. Yes guys he is wealth of information, and thinkgs like long life coolant is excellent advise as I never considered it an issue so will be doing my own replacement this weekend (as it probably will be raining heavy they say) so rather than sit on my butt inside I will replace the coolant. Bought 2 large bottles of the Toyota Red about a year ago so time to get busy.

  13. Tony I am in the same position having not washed Faye in months, mostly due to it being bloody cold or pouring rain about. So she is overdue for a wash and check over. I do however have the Flex wax coating on her so she doesn't look dirty just very light dirt on the wheel's lower body so should be fairly easy. I also when drying her open the bonnet to wipe off the water and she gets a good look over then for anything odd.

Looking forward to your Pic's of the wash and Ceramic Coating applied she will glow well for sure mate.

  14. Hi Michael yes the cost in rebuilding an engine is too scary to think about especially these days and as he said buying a used one from a wrecker is a toss of the dice to get something even reasonable. So yes the oil and filter cost is the way too go. I had a laugh being asked do you want a new filter as well, and hmm a hatchback Camry wow they sneaked that model under the radar😄😄

Let us know how things go mate
