  1. There's a tool most mechanical workshops carry that may help your situation. It's a cooling system pressure tester. What it does is connect to your cooling system (usually in place of your radiatior cap) and the system can then be pressurised. Once it's pressurised there's a gauge on the unit that can be monitored to see if it's losing any pressure. Whilst this is happening you may also be able to see if there's any water leaking out (if it's an external leak). I'd certainly be going down that path before doing any viscous fan etc. type work if it was me. Good luck.
  2. Good luck, looks like it's certainly in the right category! Sounds like a blast!!
  3. Hi Peter, on mine, one end of the rubber inserts has a slightly wider rubber section that holds them in place in a similar type of fashion to the old stainless steel clip you mentioned. If you grab that end carefully with some pliers you should be able to remove the insert, steel & all, & slide them all the way out. You can actually remove the blade head from the arm by way of a plastic clip/catch set up & slide back down towards the mounting point of the arm if you want to remove the whole head to make it a bit easier than bending over the bonnet. Good luck G.
  4. Hi all, Newbie doing a quick intro. Love your site, info & posts. Very informative & good to see so many people getting involved & trying to help each other out. Lots of info here that would be near on impossible to get out of any mechanical shop or dealership. I'm an ex Toyota mechanic & service advisor here in Adel & Brissy too (15-20 years ago). I'm based in Adelaide at the moment with a '07 Kluger Grande for wifey & a recently acquired '08 200 series Sahara for me. Just sold my '05 Hilux due to not enough seats for #4 that's on her way. Got plenty of little queries which I'll post on the correct areas. Looking forward to hearing from any of you if I can be of assistance (plenty of years since I last replaced any SV21 transmission lever bushes or the like though) & hopefully you guys could send me in the right direction with your experience and knowledge if I'm chasing any info. Not on the computer every day but if I'm around I'll be sure to get back in touch. Gerard.
