Take it easy on those speed humps. Go 10km/h if they have a 20km/h sign. Go 5 km/h if you have to. Screw the cars behind you if they get mad (not literally though). Avoid driving on those damn tram tracks if you're from Melbourne. And take it easy with those bends. My standard shocks lasted me a good 18 months. Just replaced them with KYB shocks last month :D So basically we have to drive really really really slow??? =( Like REAL SLOW...thats not much fun then =( You can still drive like normal but just be a little more careful with rough uneven surface. Going over bumps at 5/10kmph is no issues because you can always accelerate more once you clear the bumps, thus making up for the lost time. Even if your car isnt lowered or anything you should still drive slowly over those bumps.

i was told by a wheel shop dude that you could go more than 2 inches (maybe because of recent change of rules from RTA, ADR or something?) but the tricky part would be to find the right tyres to meet the load rating. Like what Matty said some insurance companies might not insure your car if you go more than 2 in diameter. I personally think 17 is the right size for Corolla especially the 9th gen, heck even 16in looks fine IMO.

neat... now i can find some use for the stock rims. Too bad i cant use the stock tyres though. :( They only done 8000km so far.

Greetings, Anyone knows if Corolla stock rims (15x6 the 6 spokes type) fit onto Echo 03 model currently running on 14x5.5. I've found the suitable tyre profile for the rims, (195x50x15 is about right) but i am not sure about the offset.

Can't help you with the right offset but as for tyre profile, 215x45x17 or 215x40x17? Both profiles should give you 87 load rating or more and should make your replacement tyres comply with the manufacturer's specs. I recently replaced my stock 195/60 R15 with 215/45 R17 (Nexen N3000) and i have no issues with scrubbing (and my car is lowered by about 1 1/2 inch with Eibach springs)

lower it! Yeap that's the only known fix hehehe. The stock ride height is just ridiculously high. i went low on mine and it looks a lot better. Now just need fatter tyres to balance out things. :P

How come everything seems to be cheaper over there in east coast huh. :P Yea i was expecting the whole kit + fitment be a lot less than 1 grand and the quote I got is way out of my league. For $1400 grand price tag i might as well get my wheels done first.

If you are after 9th gen corolla (i doubt u'll find any 10th gen in 2nd market atm :P) I'll suggest u go with the facelift hatch model since it looks heaps better than the pre-facelift and the post facelift sedan/wagon one. I myself picked sedan model largely due to the fact that i been driving echo hatch for the past 3 years and i kinda get bored with hatch and wanted something bigger/longer (but couldnt afford anything in camry class range) Not much was done to the factlift sedan/wagon model apart from new front grill and slightly different front bar. I made a grave mistake when I bought the corolla sedan last year thinking that the sedan would have similar facelift like the hatch. Another thing annoys me is that the sedan model (9th gen) looks a bit too tall and narrow from backside but not so much for hatch.

hello all, i'm interested in getting aftermarket power windows installed on my corolla 06 and i am wondering if anyone here has done similar thing. If so, how much did it cost you? I rang up one of the auto electric shop this morning and was quoted $1,400 for 4 doors. Is that reasonable or just way too much?

Yea i was going to but then realised today is saturday and i wont be able to find out from them until early next week so i might as well check with other forum members to see if anybody else has similiar experience before. I made my deposit for Eibach kit this morning then after i left the shop then i remembered that i havent check with DPI thoroughly regarding the suspension mod matter :o (although i been checking with my insurance provider almost whole week to find out what i can or cant do)

Greetings all, I have a quick non-technical but legal related question: If i lower my ride (corolla ascent sedan 06 model) by just 30mm. Do i need to get approval from DPI (i am from WA) Correct me if im wrong, common sense tells i shouldnt need to seeing that the stock ground clearance is already 160mm and with the lowering will still keep the car well above 100mm yes?
