one's I've found most similar (in Aus) so far are ones from an SW20 MR2 and also an ST202 Celica, The Celica has vvti and is much newer, however, but it looks like it's the exact same config as the 3SFE in mine, would there be any potential issues there?

Hello everyone, I have a manual '92 Holden Apollo SL JL that is the same as an SV21 Camry. I'm thinking of starting an engine swap project for it. I was just wondering what would be good swaps for it? Would a 3S-GE bolt in? I understand I'll have to get an ECU and do some wiring, but are there any issues with compatibility with the trans and what have you? What alternatives are there? Cheers!
