Looking at buying a 1985 land cruiser BJ73 with a 13B engine in it but I'm curious about what engines I could do a swap into it with minimal effort. Heard she's pretty gutless ( expected for her age) but considering how good of a rig she is I'd love to see how she'd be with a stronger heart in her. Thanks guys.

In an ideal world I'd have an AM stereo in and this question would be null and void but ah well. Im looking at sticking in a slim sub and wondering if there is some way i can connect it up to the back of the stock stereo in my 2003 Hilux SR5? Anyone done this yet? Some way of disconnecting the cassette player and connecting that to the sub instead? Thanks in advance.

Hey guys and gals. Had a look yesterday at the new Hilux Rugged. What a beasty looking machine. Had a few questions about it that the salesman couldn't answer. 1.what is the current Hilux's engine model? (Was handed a full 11 page vehicle spec sheet that didn't have the model in it). Does anyone know the current engine used? Trying to do research and see if they have fixed the DPF issue before buying. 2. The sports bar is built into the chassis itself so they can't be fully removed to allow a standard canopy. They were almost disgusted when i pointed out that the top half of it is only bolted on so it can be removed and the lower half can be used as a mounting frame or tie down point in the tray. Question is has anyone fitted a custom or standard canopy to the new Rugged/x?

Hey. Just wondering if anyone has replaced their Auto gear stick. Mines become pretty worn down so I'm looking at replacing it. Ive found a couple of easy swap ones but because mine is the 2003 SR5 Auto it has overdrive. Id like to keep the over drive feature not just because its part of the car but because i use the switch almost daily. Has anyone found a good replacement? I'm happy for a standard one but i might as well look at a slightly flashy one if im looking already.

Hey Folks. I'm brand spankers to this forum/club, so firstly ill take this opportunity to say hello. Also this is my first time owning a Toyota and a Ute and so far im over the moon with what ive chosen. Ill do a more indepth greeting in another post soon but for now i was after advice on exhausts, specifically for the 3.4l V6 petrol. I've called up a couple of local specialists and I've had mixed messages. Ive had 2 tell me not to do it because the motor is incredibly loud with a bigger exhaust on it. Ive also had 2 say they can do 2 1/5" with a big muffler full of lots of glass and it shouldn't be a problem. Im only after the upgraded exhaust to get a some better deeper v6 sound and some more power out of it. Anyone had some experience putting a larger exhaust on these motors? I don't want a rolling fart box. I work night shift so i dont want people waking up sniffing when i leave for work. Thanks for your advice. Scott
