  1. I'm from melbourne... got my sportivo grille from City Toyota for i think $160 then got it painted from another place for $70 (at that place at BH - forget the name its near cnr of station st and whitehorse rd - on station st) hope that helps... btw this was like in feb this yr
  2. Doh! Same thing happened to me just yesterday. My parker LED fell off into the headlight while i try to put the socket back in - the new one was apparently slightly too big for the socket so didnt sit well. Any of you guys have good ideas of fetching that little bugger out? I tried with a double side tape stuck to the end of the stick - but still could get it out. Right now (coz i drove the car with the LED still inside ) the parker LED seems to be wedged in the pointy bottom corner of the headlight (the pointy part pointing to the grille). I certainly dont wanna go thru what Cooley went thru. ANy clues?
  3. First up - Welcome to the forum :) I want to be straight up but not rude. I think the consensus on this forum and preference of 'older' mbrs is that one utilises the search function before an issue is posted. (re: ur curiosity about rattling gear selector cables) But then again, if your really anxious etc, i can understand y ur not in that mentality. If u have already 'searched' - my apologies for my ignorance. But then again - its always good to post up an already covered topic (one in a while), coz brings the attention to issues/info that might apply to some existing or new mbrs who never really knew that issues/info existed (if that makes sense). Coz i personally dont go searching for old threads purely coz I read the newly posted topics for leisure and to learn new things. But then again, on the other hand, i can also appreciate the frustration from other mbrs who read topics that already been covered. Coz they are torn b/w the desire to help ppl and the frustration of having to re-type information for the millionth time and wasting web space. I think im just going around in circles. SO id stop writing now
  4. To Buddha and Shaohoak, You guys are legends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS FIXED Buddha pointed me in the right and logical direction and Shaohoak, thanks on the tip. I typed 'emanage' in the search engine and found MP81's "How To Remove Your ECU" post, in which showed me how to remove the glovebox. As u said, it was easy. I opened up the fuse box (although me little difficulty at first to open it up - finally i insert my key into two little slits on the side and nudged it open) and located the blown fuse. It was fuse 19 from memory - integral to front fogs, interor lights, back tailights, no. plates among many many other lights. Thankfully to toyota, they had 3 types of spare fuses in the engine bay fuse box. I used type 15 to replace the blown fuse. Not only have i fixed my problem, but ive learnt somehting too. All done, all fixed and all happy. This forum rocks! Its got the people and the info. Now i can sleep peacefully - and in eager anticipation of the delivery of my new eyelids.
  5. The 2nd fuse box seems to be just above hte glove compartment....But i dunno how to take out the glove compartment....any ideas anybody?
  6. Ths for the quick reply. I had a quick read of hte manual. I check the fuse box in the front...they are alright.. But i cant access the fuse box on the inside.... I think i have blown a few fuses...coz the the interior lights (are where a/c button is), tailight, no. plate lights among others including hte beep beep sound when light is on, engine off and door open - all doesnt work. Esp with the rear tail light, its dangerous at night coz doesnt light up when driivng. Any advice on how i can access the 2nd fuse box inside and check? thx heaps
  7. I'm in desp need of help to understand what may have happened. I bought a set of parker lights on ebay (pictured below) and tried to install em on my corolla. Fitted one parker light on to test and it didnt work (but the fog lights and other parker light was still on). I tried turning it around to see whether that helps. Nope. So then i fitted the original parker lights back in and turned the light switch on just to make sure everything was fine. BUT nothing worked!!?!?! Both the fogs and original parker lights didnt even come on! Fortunately, the low beam headlights still work. Just not the fogs and parkers. Does anyone know y? Can the fogs and parkers be non-operational at hte same time? i coudn't have triggered anything by installing one OEM parker in coz they were still oeprational. Any light shed on this will be appreciated. Last resort will have to try and claim this under factory warranty <_<
  8. btw - could it be a showroom car? coz i dun think they need to be registered.
  9. Hey Cooldude, I am afraid that i dont have the answers to your questions as i havent got the knowledge nor experience. However, i did a quick search for info for you and find a link that may be a good starting pt for ur research. http://kiwi.carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/portal...topDefault.aspx HOWEVER, after much searching. i find a much more useful link - you will be happy and it will provide more understanding on the recourse u can take. E.g Motoring Advisory Line on (03) 9790 2190 http://journeys.racv.com.au/RACVM/whichcar/step3.cfm A guide on buying new car can also be downloaded from: http://www.journeys.racv.com.au/racvrt/ima...ying_newcar.pdf p.S unless buying 2nd hand cars from dealers where u get cooling period of 3 business days, buying new cars DO NOT HAVE COOLING OFF PERIOD. I hope that helps - i would like to be ur advocate but no time, gotta study and gotta make some money =) But pls keep us updated on ur progress on this forum. Thanks
  10. In regards to what you can do? The 'trade practices act' may provide legal grounds for action (or threat if you will =)). I will quote 2 sections from the TPA that has wide application : SECTION 53 - FALSE OR MISLEADING REPRESENTATIONS 53 A corporation shall not, in trade or commerce, in connexion with the supply or possible supply of goods or services or in connexion with the promotion by any means of the supply or use of goods or services: (a) falsely represent that goods are of a particular standard, quality, value, grade, composition, style or model or have had a particular history or particular previous use; (aa) falsely represent that services are of a particular standard, quality, value or grade; (B) falsely represent that goods are new; SECTION 52 - MISLEADING OR DECEPTIVE CONDUCT 52(1) [Prohibited conduct] A corporation shall not, in trade or commerce, engage in conduct that is misleading or deceptive or is likely to mislead or deceive. I would, but dpnt have enuff facts or time to apply the law to your case, but i would think its application is quite obvious.
  11. For those interested to know what constitutes 'defamation' pls read on. Although i havent come across the topic of Defamation in my law course(last yr), but I have now have taken an interest in it. THe following is the general principles of defamation and its application to your situation as described above. To prove a case in defamation, a plaintiff(i.e Toyota Dealer) must prove 3 things: 1) defamatory material, 2) relating to that person; and 3) is published. Presuming that point 2) and 3) is obvious in that your 'comments' related to the Toyota Dealer and is/will be published here on the forum. Hence, we move on to deal with point 1). There is no single common law definition of what is meant by ``defamatory''. However, the concept of a man's reputation being impugned, rather than that he has merely been abused, is a central ingredient of most defamation actions. The material 'published' has to affect adversely the reputation of that person in the estimation of ordinary persons. TIn other words, he test of whether material has a defamatory meaning is what the ordinary reader, listener or viewer would understand or infer from it. For example, a statement that “The Minister is crazy to support more pulp mills” – would be unlikely to be found to be defamatory as ordinary people are NOT necessarily likely to form a significantly lower opinion of someone just because they are the subject of such criticism or abuse. NOW --> say that you do 'publish' 'defamatory material' either verbally or written on this forum, there is a defence to it. DEFENCE --> The law of defamation rests on the principle that all defamatory matter is presumed by law to be false. A defendant(i.e you) in a defamation action will have to establish the truth of a defamatory imputation, and at common law (which applies in Victoria) this is a complete defence to the action. GIven your scenario, I am of the opinion that if you simply state the facts and what happend (as long as you proof), this would be the utter truth and hence a complete defence to a defamation case. DISCLAIMER: The above does not constitue legal advice, merely an opinion that should not be relied upon for legal action. It is for information purposes only. I may be wrong. So pls seek qualified legal advice.
  12. Saw the same car today at Glen Waverly Kingsway. Parked near to the entrace to Cinemas. Only reason i noticed was the plate. It was black and i htink with a rear skirt. It was dark and i was just driving by so didnt really see anything else
  13. Hey kcorro! Where is motorware? Have you got their number? I want to know the price of the bomex side skirts. They look unreal!!! B) ← Hey, I know Vincent (owner) of Motorware or Stanely Their address is: 3 Prestige Drive, Clayton South Victoria 3169 But, to my understanding they don't really deal in toyota corolla parts. I am also friends with the owner of another co. called "N1 Distribution" they import parts as well as service performance cars including corollas. Their address is: Unit 8a, 2a Westall Rd Clayton 3168 (its a business park - first on the left once u turn into Westall) Ph no. 03 9543 9330 The owner's name is Stan. Or another guy is Kaleb. When you call, tell them Scott recommended you there. They will be nice to ya! Hope that helps.

  15. the ones from cyber century (melbourne - springvale - just check whitepages) are fake ones...black, unpainted and witout the sticky tape on the back...around $50 the genuine ones are from Toyota Japan (TMC) and they cost around $150 but they are already painted to ur colour and got tape on the back. They are from Typhoon MOtorsport...but i ordered with Typhoon in Jan and they siad it would be in by end of Feb....its now end of March, i got my refund coz it ridiculous how i have wait so long.
  16. It doesnt hurt to have another one's perspective and explanation of the same procedure. Plus, afyfe, your instructions are specific to a sportivo. His one is specific to non-sportivo models. For this reason, I dont think we are doubling up on posts on the same issue. I have the non-sportivo corolla and personally find it helpful to follow instructions based on a model similar to mine. I realise that you may feel that your work and efforts may be superseded by his post, but dont worry, I am sure sportivo owners would prefer to follow your instructions. I am only saying this coz I appreciate what Northy has done. And yours too.
  17. Peekay34 - i think it was you who i saw today at around 4:30pm on blackburn rd. You were waiting at the lights waiting to turn into the monash freeway at the blackburn rd entrace/exit. My window was down and i think u looked over too... Nice ride...
  18. I dont know wat they did... but its done pretty well and clean...it doesnt have any swirls...just a dark and shiny tint on the taillight....they baked it in the car oven. i didnt really ask coz as long as its done well and to the form i like htats all it matters...
  19. alrite...here are the pics...sorry i totally forgot.. its not reallydarkest but in my opinion its perfect. I only have pics of my own car. ive added a pic of unpainted taillight for ocmparison
  20. I will take photos whenever i can. My sister took the digital camera on her trip. back tomorrow.
  21. ADR_roLLA and i had our tailights tinted this saturday morning... its looks awesome...esp on ADR-ROlla's black sportivo - nice and dark but not too dark. happy with the result.
  22. HI ppl + ADR_Rolla I called jr auto in box hill to tint taillight for corolla is $60 - if take off yourself $80 - if they take it off for you ADR rolla..let me know whether u want to do this...coz i am going too..if anyone else is interested pls PM me by thursday COB The above price is just for one. I dont know how much cheaper it will be (if any) if there is more than 1 order. My perspective is that since i will do it in anycase. HOwever, if it will be cheaper from group order, then bonus!
  23. I like the headlight beeoer as then I don't run my battery flat I like the reversing beeper as because it is a ****** place that reverse is ion the gear stem, I know I'm in it I hate the key in beeper - but there is a simple plug inside the trim surrounding the sterring column in behind the ignition - I may be able to get photos if anybody is interested. Doing this particular disconnection voids NO warranty as you are simply unplugging a cable. DO THE MOD AS PER KT_haha IF YOU WISH however messing with the electrinics like that WILL void warranty should something **** up as a result (my way there is nothing that can **** up) gee I got to curb my language!!!!! ← yeah actually...i'm interested in disconnecting the cable for the beep beep sound...BUT ONLY FOR KEY IN BEEPER and nothing else....could u pls post instruction + photos thanks
  24. Is the beep beep beep removed as per above in respect to headlights or open doors?
  25. tHX GUYS... now i know wat to do... i might get a pro to do it....hope its not too expensive
