  1. My cargo mat is genuine and is now a year old and I have had no issues with it so far. I also don't treat it with kid gloves and the Kluger is my vehicle of choice when I want to go for a dive. All my diving gear fits neatly in the back and makes gearing up a pleasure, especially if it's raining!

    Filling up

I suppose I'll try another servo when the time comes to fill up again. It happened occasionally with my Tarago too but those times were few and far between. Hopefully this won't be the norm as I know the cheese n kisses won't be impressed. Actually this might work out alright. If it's a pain to fill maybe she won't want to drive it!! I should be so lucky..

    Filling up

I put my first tank of fuel in today and what a pain that was! I had to hold the nozzle trigger just open otherwise it would auto-shutoff. I even tried rotating the nozzle to get a better angle-of-the-dangle as it were but to no avail. Has anybody else experienced this? It was a Mobil servo..

    Keys and watersports?

I wouldn't take anything down with me when diving unless it's rated 100m water resistant minimum. Had a watch rated to 50m which imploded at 20m (the extra pressure caused by the resistance of moving my arm through the water was enough to push it over the limit of the seals). Marine environments are pretty corrosive as well, so unless you're going to rinse it thoroughly, it's probably not worth it. I've seen small water proof key/phone holders sold in dive shops so you can take them with you into the surf. Well I'm mainly thinking about diving so water resistance at depth is the biggest consideration.. I was speaking to another guy in my diving club who drives a Kluger and his solution was to get a blank cut which would unlock the doors and have the master key hidden in the back. Although I'm not sure I like the idea of leaving a key "hidden" inside the car..

    KX-R Front Brakes

Delete reference. I've checked out a few other Klugers and confirmed they're all like this. Looks to me like the brake pad retention spring clips.. My KX-R is the same..
  6. Kids growing up? I replaced our ageing Tarago with a 1 year old KX-R AWD 7 seater about 12 months ago. The difference is just amazing. We now find it a pleasure to drive places, we appreciate the quietness and additional power, and the fuel consumption is nearly as good as the Tarago around the city, and better on highways. The only drawback is less luggage space compared to the Tarago, but a luggage box on top gets us by for those long trips (and I'm talking about 4 grown kids ages 16+). Ken. Yes the kids are growing up! The Tarago was very versatile and we will miss the extra cargo space but it's nice to have a car that just works! As far as the fuel consumption goes our Tarago was heavy on the juice as we do most of our driving in the city so I don't expect the Kluger to be any worse. We went for the AWD 7 seater as well..
  7. Only ever having owned cars that had "normal" keys and not having to worry about getting keys wet when I went for a dive or a surf I'm just wondering what others do in these situations? Do I need to get a blank key cut or are the master keys sufficiently waterproof to not have to worry? Cheers. Flo
  8. My wife and I decided to go with the Silver Pearl as we didn't want a "dark" colour but had I been the only one making the decision the Tidal Blue would have been my first choice. It's funny how when you are on the lookout for a particular colour on a car you never see it and when you aren't looking they're everywhere.. So if you were the driver of a Crystal Pearl Kluger driving around Rosebery a couple of weekends ago and thought you were being followed by a white Tarago.. well you were!! We really wanted to see how the colour looked in daylight and after seeing just about every colour but white, I finally spotted one (it just so happened that the subject vehicle was travelling in a different direction to us!) and so began a keystone cops-esque "chase" through the back streets of Rosebery. My kids still laugh when they see a white Kluger!!
  9. Hey I just took delivery of my new baby just this afternoon.. A silver KX-R AWD. Love that new car smell! And mine came with a full tank to boot!! Looks like the Tarago is moving on to another home!

    Aircon noise

Hi all. Our TCR10 Tarago ('94 model) has developed a rather loud and annoying high pitched metallic squeal when the aircon is switched on. It typically lasts for a few seconds before disappearing. The AC system hasn't been regassed for ages. I'm suspecting that the compressor might be on the way out but thought I'd seek confirmation. The lack of suitable info detailing the operation and troubleshooting procedures for the AC system is a little frustrating. I am also aware of the refrigerant handling issues. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Flo
