  2. I think I may have finally spotted someone... Jay were you turning off Manning Road onto Ley Street around 9ish saturday night? Well if it wasnt you then I spotted a silver rolla lowered? on black rims.

I recently put King Lows on my AE101R dropped it by 34mm and it runs around on 15 inch rims *the newer rolla factory 6spoke rims* had mine loaded up with 3 people and only the mudflaps scrape going over speed bumps Oh btw I recommend whiteline rear adjustable sway bar + camber kit... it worked a treat on mine, tis like a go-cart

  5. Lol! arent the 2zz heavier than the GZE and 3S anyways? im guessing thatd be an expensive install to... My goal is to put down around 150-200 HP atw, im thinking the 3S is a bit steep prolly could mod a SR20DET in for the same amount :P. Would it take much modding to a 4AGTE to make those figures?

  7. Hi everyone! I have been thinking lately about upgrading the 4A-FE beast in my AE101R rolla and I need some help. This upgrade may have something to do with my mate buying a 2007 focus and it beating my car... which isnt allowed! :P. But the ultimate reason is I love the rolla's shape and how it drives *after the suspension upgrade* but the AFE just isnt doing it for me. I have been doing a LOT of forum searching and have narrowed down some possibilities for the rolla. Keeping in mind im on a bit of a budget. Im tossing up between the almighty 20V Blacktop and the 4AGZE maybe later turning it into a 4AGTE or maybe even a 3S-GTE (but I don't know about that one). Now I've read the way to go is getting a halfcut and then transplanting the engine and tranny. Question time! 1) Approx how much would each engine cost as halfcut or by itself? 2) Which is easiest and cheapest to install? *Im not mechanically minded so it would probably end up at a workshop* 3) Which one is the best bang for buck? 4) Which one will give me the best all round performance? 5) If I were to by it by itself would my manual need strengthening? *besides clutch* I'm leaning towards the 20V BT since VVT is just plain awesome and it would be cheaper to insure and look after, also the 2 inch cat back system I have now on the AFE wont need expanding for the 20V BT? BUT blow off valves are sooooooooooooooo cool! and I think the GZE would get more power in the long run? PLEASE!!! help me out guys I need all the wisdom that can be shed on this to help make my rolla a tidy little sleeper.
  8. Second that, I have a K&N Pod on my ae101 and when you sink the boot in it makes a wicked induction noise!! To answer your question about what difference it will make... not much to a N/A motor of 2L and below (unless your original airbox and filter is that clogged with stuff it cant induct properly). All that said it will give you a slight performance improvement, a quicker response time in acceleration and could also improve fuel economy. But the reason I got one is for awesome induction noises!!! Oh and if you buy one make sure you have a heat shield to go around it so as to stop all that hot engine air from being sucked up defeating the purpose of Cold Air Induction. Hope this helps.
  9. Glad to hear my car isnt the only one. Hiro Protagonist if you get around to fixing your steering rack and it stops popping could you let me know? and what head lights have you got? where did you get them? and if you dont mind me asking how much? I want to upgrade mine, they have cataracts.
  10. Its popped about 3-4 times. I might give taping it a crack hopefully it doesnt put to much pressure in the line and srping a leak.
  11. lol yeah mine has a spring si it locks in "tight". I have put a chain on it so when it pops I dont loose it but still it shouldnt be happening... Anyone had this problem?
  12. Hi, I've just recently noticed that the power steering cap on my 94 Corolla 4afe engine loosens itself and pops off! I dont know how the hell it does it but at $34 a cap its getting pretty expensive! I have been to toyota about it and the service guys are clueless, they made me turn it on the spot to see if there was to much pressure in the lines or whatever and that came up clear. Has anyone else had this problem? Need some help please!!! any ideas would be much appreciated. I was thinking maybe the spring in the cap is too strong and with engine viabrations it loosens it but yeah I doubt it would be that.
  13. Lol at the driving commercials, thats a sweet idea. Cheers for the replies everyone but i think im going to mount it into the dash and hide the dvd player in the glove box for easy access. Only trouble is I couldnt find a good picture quality screen that would fit in the gap so im gonna run with this.... http://www.teac.com.au/product/6/529/specs Bought it today and the thing has a sweet picture for only $190. I have taken it apart and it looks moddable, the lcd screen comes right out which is handy ill make up my own mount for it and "try" to extend the lcd to dvd wires, this is were I could get stuck since the wires are TINY!!! anyways ill keep you all posted on the progress if your interested and post some pics :D
