I own a toyota hiace import (1993), 100 series 3 liter engine automatic diesel.
My gearbox is broken and I try to find a second hand gearbox to replace it.
But up to now i didn't had any luck. I called 50 different wreckers but nobody seem to have this gearbox. (A45DL)
The mechanic told me that it is important to buy one that has the same year model otherwise their is a change that it wont fit. Now is it such a struggle to find this exact gearbox from the same year that i look at alternatives. I found a gearbox that comes out of a toyota hiace commuter yearmodel 2000. The transmission plate at the engine says the same as my plate : A45DL.
But I am not sure if this will fit. How can i find out without exactly trying?
And maybe someone has another idea, like importing one from japan? I tried to find something online but i couldn't figure it out.
