So I took it to an air con guy who said that gas level is ok and suspects some issue with the signal or a component of the compressor that receives the signal and turns it on.

Hi fellow, I have a Tarago 2006 which I bought 2 years ago from a dealer. One sunny day when I turned on the air con, it made a strange hissing sound and then stopped blowing cold air. When I turn on the a/c, the car can sense it, the condenser fan turns on, the vent blowers work but the compressor clutch does not engage. I called a mechanic who said that some cars have a sensor that stops the clutch to engage if the gas is low. Thoughts? Thanks AT
