  1. Didn't the toyota salesman tell you its 'Corolla by name, not by nature'??? Oh what a feeling !
  2. It wasn't my intention in opening a can of worms by posting this item on this forum. I purchased my Stivo exactly two years ago in June 2003 and basically I've lived with certain issue for long enough and want them rectified without any hassles. It is now apparent to me that there are alot of upset and frustrated Toyota customers like me who just want what they paid for. I'm looking forward to hearing feedback from people who have had their car's fixed so that I can make an assessment for myself in finding a dealer that cares.
  3. I have had problems changing gears at both low and high RPM pretty much from new. I had the Stivo serviced the other week and had the clutch adjusted as it was notchy. Since I've had the car back I can't feel any improvement, if fact it feels worse. Can any Sydney-siders who have had theres fixed suggest a good dealer to have my car serviced properly ? Thanks.
  4. Are you serious, I didn't rev the stivo past 8k until I had chalked up 3000 kms. I'd be taking it easy for the next few thousand kays just to get the motor run.
  5. My Stivo is black and gets washed once a month if it's lucky. I've manged to go 4 months without washing it.... I was overseas for 3 of those months.
  6. I agree with Azza, don't waste time and take the car back to your dealer. The first 2000 kms you need to take it easy running in the motor.
  7. I wonder if the new head unit has RCA's ?
  8. I've seen the silver Stivo in Northcote Street, St Leonards... must be a local to the area
  9. Fully sick ! Where have you mounted the amp, if it's not too tricky a question ?
  10. Ouch... I know how that feels. I did the same thing in June '03. My new Stivo just landed in Syd so I purchased the first one off the ship. 3 weeks later was in the panel shop for repairs after a wack by a council truck (thanks fellas). I think I hold the record for the first Stivo in a panel shop. My only tip is to find a good repairer around your area, shop around. Unless you have someone you already know.
  11. If there's one thing I love about Europe is their massive Motorways. Especially in Germany and some of the Southern European countries. Everytime I head over there which is every three years, driving around in a rent-a-car, I'm usually driving well over 180km/h for hours and hours on end without seeing any cops. If I could only drive my stivo over there would be awsome.
  12. Buddy... save your dosh. It's not worth blowing your hard earned cash on this project. My suggestion is to save your money, yes this is difficult, and spend it on another vehicle which has the potential to be easily modified/worked. With this is mind you can have a car that you can slowly build up, and constantly expand on. This will enable you to have a car that can progress from Street to Strip, if so desired, when ever you want, and when budget allows.
  13. If a good thief wants them, they'll steal it. The only thing you can try is preventative measures. These include quality lock nuts and perhaps an alarm with a shock sensor which in an event of a theft will alert you by pager. Otherwise you can spend a couple of hundred bucks and get the whole car "Data Dotted", including the rims. Remember, it doesn't matter what you try, thieves will always find a work around.
  14. The only way around warranties is to hold onto your original exhaust or whatever origional item(s) you've replaced. And if, heaven forbid, things go wrong quickly throw on the origionals back on again. I know it's painful but there seems to be no other way around warranties, unless you've got the big dollars....
  15. try a toyota wrecker in your area. Tell what you need and they can usually point you in the right direction
  16. Does anyone know if the stock standard stivo head unit (rad/cass/stacker) has rca's. If not, can I get away with using an RCA convertor to connect a amp for a sub ?
  17. Are there any Stivos out there running Nitrous? Whether it be for street or strip.
  18. I'll take it back to the dealer and get it checked out. :) --- And remember, 'if you wanna rev it, stivo it"
  19. Are Sportivo owners having issues with rust appearing on the wheel mounting surface, I think it's called ? If you look through the wheel spokes there's rust forming and even on the disk brake too.
