Thanks for that fellas, Her budget is pretty tight. She lives on a farm in central Queensland and is doing it pretty hard. I drive up there from Brisbane fairly often and am prepared to help her out a bit. I'll keep my eyes open on gumtree and wait for something to come up now that I know what cars to look for. The reconditioned one is the smart way to go but dollar wise its necessary to do it in smaller bites. btw, will a 4y fit? cheers

Thanks for that. I've scoured just about every wrecker in south east Queensland without luck. They mostly say they haven't seen one for years. If she wants to go ahead with it she might have to bite the bullet and do the old one up. cheers

Hi, I'm helping my cousin's daughter look for a second hand 2y motor for her 1994 hilux. She's quite a girl and does all her own repairs. The 2y motors seem to be quite scarce. Does anyone know what other toyotas they were fitted to? or can suggest another cheapish motor that would bolt in with minimum modifications. Cheers, Tom
