  1. Good idea to get Toyota diagnosis before doing anything else. They will probably charge you for the diagnosis. If you think you might have a case under ACL then you should take that up with them. It's important though that your vehicle must have been serviced on time every time. Hopefully you'll have records to back that up if its been serviced by an independent mechanic.
  2. Hi Folks Over here from rav4 forum which is very quiet. In my research about the leather peeling on my 3yo RAV4, I've noticed a number of LC200 owners reporting the same problem. I want to make a warranty claim and trying to gather as much evidence as I can for the inevitable push back from Toyota. Just wondering if anyone here has experienced the same thing. FWIW, the car is garaged and the peeling is in the 4 o'clock position. TIA
  3. Assume it's out of warranty. Nevertheless, assuming it's not got too many Ks, say 160 plus, then you should approach Toyota for replacement under Australian Consumer Law. Of course, Toyota may still fob you off because they know you'll have to go to a lawyer and that's going to cost you money. That said, if the trans is gonna cost 8k plus then paying a solicitor a grand for a consultation and a letter from them to Toyota reminding Toyota of their obligations under ACL might be good value for money. Good luck. I'm about to have a fight over a leather steering wheel that's peeling on 3yo RAV.
  4. Hi Folks Have 2020 Cruiser hybrid with 60k kms. The leather has started peeling off the steering wheel. Has anyone else had this issue? I intend making a warranty claim. How do you think I'll go? TIA

    Android auto

G'day Andp. Apparently, according to the RAV4 brochure on Toyota's website, wireless is only with Car Play and not Android Auto. Yeah. It sucks.
  6. After almost 2 years of constant average fuel usage of 5.4, started to rise: 5.5, 5.7 and now settled down to 5.9. That'sa 10% increase. Nothing has changed, if anything I'm now driving even more economically. The car has done just short of 60k. I did change from OEM Bridgestone to Toyos, but I wouldn't expect that would explain the increase. Dealers done diagnostic on hybrid system and they say all good. Anyone else experienced this? While we're at it, this forum doesn't appear to be very active given the popularity of the vehicle. Is there another Australian RAV4 forum that people use? TIA
  7. Looking for recommendations/suggestions for replacing Bridgestone OEM tyres. Still legal at 53k kms but probably won't get to 60k. Am tending towards Khumo Crugen. Did more than 70k kms on our 2017 Sportage. Thanks in advance.
  8. Is it 2WD or 4WD. If it's 2WD I wouldn't bother. 400kg Max towing capacity. That's 40kg tow ball downweight. (Toyotas best kept secret). Essentially rules out an ebike carrier. Add one ebike eg and you'll be over. Found out after purchase. So this means if we go on holidays and want to take our bikes: one e; one conventional then we have to take my FG ute. It's more comfortable actually but twice the fuel and the dogs hate it behind the seats:) If it's 4Wd forget what I just said.
  9. Gday Folks Have a 2020 RAV Cruiser Hybrid 2WD. Car is covered by the Toyota 5 year warranty with an additional 2 year warranty, as long as I service with Toyota on time. I want to fit a tow bar (for a bike carrier) and a light bar. Can someone tell me if I have non-genuine parts fitted, will that void the additional 2 years of warranty. I understand this will not void the standard warranty (under Australian consumer law). Local dealer states that I must buy genuine parts but can be fitted by anyone - not sure about this advice. Thanks in advance.
