  1. Hi Due for an Oil change and a few friends suggested i use Castrol Edge 5W40 or maybe Castrol Magnetec 10W40. Between the two - Which would be better on the 2ZZGE? I have used Mobil1 0W40 and Shell Helix Ultra 5W40 before - but cost is a bit too much.
  2. I got a price here in today from Toyota for the OEM TOYOTA MR-S LSD which should fit in the Sportivo. It was R 8800. Approx R 2000 cheaper than the Quaife. I'm gonna order this LSD. Its helical - so no maintenance and its slightly cheaper than the Quiafe. Will I need any other parts besides the OEM TOYOTA LSD. Seals, Bearings? Thanks.
  3. I would like to get the quaife but the price is steep, almost double that of the Mechanical TRD. I am gonna try and see if I can get hold of the JDM Helical MR-S one. Its seems like a good inbetween option.
  4. How is the JDM MR-S (So Called TRD) Torsen Helical LSD as compared to the Genuine Mechanical TRD LSD? The Quaife is definately the Best option but the price is double. Mayb the Torsen Helical LSD might be a cheaper way out? Any suggestions?
  5. Hi guys I'm interested in fittting a LSD to my Sportivo. I more into Street use than Track use. What would be my best option? Also can the 2ZZGE Gearbox handle the LSD. My options are as follows. 1. TRD Mechanical LSD - R 5500 2. Quaife Helical LSD - R 10 500 I am thinking of going with the TRD LSD as it is almost half the price. Also the Mechanic who is going to fit the LSD said that he can adjust the LSD to 40% so that it does not lock up on the bends. What do you guys suggest?
  6. Thanks for the advise guys. I wanted to make sure the the primary piping diameter where the same on old and new spec. Which is the case. No need for me to change to new spec header. cheers
  7. Hi Will the US Toyota Matrix XRS TRD Cold Air Induction fit on the Corolla Sportivo? I am thinking of buying a TRD CAI and this is the only one I can get my hand on. Please advise gurus? Thanks
  8. Hi Please can anybody advise whether there is any difference between the Old Spec(Pre-Facelift) Header and the New Spec (Facelift) Header? Performance and Design wise? I have a Old Spec Sportivo and am I thinking of changing the Header to the New Spec Header. Or should I just port the Old Spec Header?
  9. Hi guys. I have used the search and have not really found any answers. I own a 2003 RunX RSi (Corolla Sportivo) with BMC Flat Bed Filter and Ported Header + 63mm Mandrel Bent Exhaust system. I am interested in fitting the UNICHIP in my vehicle but wanna know if if works on our cabbies without going into SAFE/LIMP mode. I think a few guys on this forum have the unichip fitted to their cabbies. Do you guys have problems with the Unichip? Are there any gains with unichip? Please guys help me out. Thanks
  10. Hi I had a loud rattle noise coming from inside my downpipe. When we examined the downpipe we found that the inside layer had cracked into pieces! I had to then replace the downpipe and TOYOTA dont sell just the downpipe! They sell the complete exhaust piece with cat from manifold to before rear silencer. Anyway I got a 63mm custom downpipe made up but then the car lost all its torque! So I removed the 63mm custom downpipe and install a Viper performance branch 4-2-1! Definately much better than the 63mm Custom downpipe but I still feel that the standard branch and downpipe with 63mm freeflow was best! Guess its in my mind or I need to Chip the car with the new setup! Heres a pic of the branch: Any suggestions as too what would be the best setup will be welcome! Currently I have Viper Branch and 63mm 2 BOX Mandrel bent Exhaust System.
