Theres 5 practical exercise
1. go 40km and emergency hard brake
2. salom at 45, 35, 30, 45km
3. hairpin at 45, 40, 35, 45km
4. emergency lane change, no braking at 45
5. emergency lane change with hard brake stop
so all exercise bascially aims at killing you brakes and tires. possible wheel alignment
-
Came back from the aami course today to get the 10% off insurance.
All these exercises required dead hard brakings.
Just feel like it hurts the car, tires, brakes, steering.
Especially on a new car.
Anyone had similar experiences?

there is a 7day cooling off period, but you only get your money back only if finanace was not approved. If its approved and you wanna canel it, you lose your deposit. I m sure you were happy at the deal before you signed the dotted line right?
Just think positive.

Hey enjoy your new corolla. I have the Conquest model and have done around 4500. Opened it up around the back roads the other day 160kmh at 4400 revs.
Very stable and smooth.
I m quite happy with the new rolla too. smooth cornering, except for the hard suspension. You can feel every bump and on bad roads, its a pain in the ****.

dont worry about breaking in the engine
the blokes loading/unloading your car in the wharf had already thrashed the engine.
As far as i know and what i have seen in some car loading video. They looks to be not even over 40km/h. But anyway, i think its true that the manufacturer has done most of the braking in themself when manufactuering already.
most brand new cars have 80Km or less on them - i don't know how you can break-in an engine in less than 80km's. Unless you mean they run the engine in before it goes in the car. I thought they only start up the engine at idle speed as part of the QC process (birthing).
yeh, before they go to the car...plus the kms can be resetted....0km means out the door nto the actual start life of engine

Thanks a bunch folks for all ya replies! At least I've got some idea of how to treat my new baby now. :D
I can't wait, keep waiting for the dealer to ring with the magic words of, "The car is ready and you can pick it up..." lol :D
You're in my situation about a month ago..its so exciting. and enjoy the smell of the new corolla too..hehe

Hey dude, Congrat on your ZR.. its great car
I just passed 1000KM with mine Levin SX this morning.
During the period, i just drive normally, which is smooth driving, didnt really get pass 3000rpm....i'll say baby it for the 300km as said on the manual, since i think things are new ...i' read somewhere to rev it constantly but keep it below 3000rpm....thats what i try to do, after 500km, you can try to push the engine abit but i only did it for few seconds during highways just to let it open up to the upper range
-
i m tempted to get these mtecs too
-
Yeah they said they were gonna send it by UPS.
Can't wait Im putting in the order today :D
I have second thought about UPS. Its gonna take up to 14 working days. They throw your things around too. Have heard quite a few people complainted about guitars landing in wood pieces.

Looks like BP is the winner so far..
The thing about BP is, there isnt alot of store along my daily route, like 1 shop if i do go pass that route...so shell is abit more convient for me.
-
Yeah and it sounds like it won't be available over here because its the European division of TTE motorsports, and appently by what I was told at my Toyota Dealership is that Australia doesn't deal with them directly or have no intention of to soon. So yeah im ordering it this week.
Does anybody know an approximate time for something from europe being shipped?
Depends on what you ship with.
EMS is pretty quick, 4 -5 days roughly.

i owned a levin sx, its true that its heavier, but you are getting a few extra 7kw of power, so that makes up for it. Fuel aint too bad...i'm still getting 9.2L/100km on my clock..but its gradually coming down. jsut hope it will hit the stated 7.6l range..i just use shell unleaded
How do you know that you are getting an extra 7kw of power from using Shell Unleaded? What type of Shell Unleaded fuel are you referring to? Has anyone tried ethanol fuel yet in their car?
Sorry, I actually comparing to previous model of corolla which is only 93kw....
As for the fuel...i have no idea

joeyee u wana post up the scans?
i m from hk and i m interested in reading it
Hi Sugizo,
If you r from Hong Kong, just get the Sept 2007 issue of option fans.
They are probably up to Oct issue by now, but you should be able to get one copy over there.
And also, can you make some enquiries about it?
Whether it will create any issues with the ZZE123 here in Aus? in terms of fitting?
i m from hk but i m in syd
i think u know better then me that magazines from hk are almost eactly 6x the original hk price..
anyway, i'm just a novice when it comes to car but any mods on a stock engine will lessen the life of it because it may not be able to tolerate the the icnrease in power..but dont quote me on it..
i have a friend of a friend who installed turbo killed the car in 6months...so i guess there are always risks..u can decide if its really worth it
-
i think its too risky to mod a newly released car since not much stuff and info is around and esp they are quite different from previous model....if u plan to spend money on increasing performance then i suggest you a car with better performance in teh first place...
-
i reckon the stock unit 6 stacker is actual pretty good. especially the bluetooth which is quite handy
-
real nice,
how much did u score it for?
