  1. I would gladly let you borrow my disc if I wasn't so far away. If you have a dvd writer I believe it's available for download somewhere.
  2. If it's the 2.4 2az-fe engine they are prone to burning oil and your experience isn't uncommon. Not to say there won't be a leak but I'd guess it's burning it.
  3. I had the alternator go on my old 2001 2.4 sportivo manual, changed that one myself as it's easy to get to. As for multimeter I have one from aldi which works nicely.
  4. Having the voltage not increase with the car started definitely doesn't bode well for the alternator. I got a new alternator a few years ago and I believe it cost ~$600 all up.
  5. I saw that video too and made me wonder how common that issue is. Goodluck with the project!
  6. If the cables are plugged in properly in the correct slots either the headunit is faulty or you could check the software to make sure the sound bias isnt set to just the rear speakers. Some headunits require adapter cables too so might want to make sure you have everything required. I don't know too much about headunits though so hopefully somebody more experienced will be along to give you some pointers.
  7. Pretty sure I've saved more than one useful document you posted. Thanks
  8. I'm thinking of moving back to the UK in the next year or so and taking my car with me, As you know they aren't a thing over there. What parts would you stock up on which would be a hassle to get over there? There are limited Toyotas with the 2GR engine and then you have the Lotus so I think engine-wise things might be ok for part availability but what parts can you think of that may save a future headache? Nothing is set in stone right now but being stocked up on various parts wouldn't harm no matter where I live. Cheers for any thoughts and recommendations.
  9. My old SX6 had the line replaced but my SL still needs doing, I have the parts on the shelf I've just been procrastinating about getting it done. It's good to hear the rubber was still in decent condition, I'm hoping the same goes for mine so theres no rush lol. Wonder if it's any easier/harder to change on the TRD in comparison. nicejob!
  10. Yeah definitely a later model 40 series. I had a 2007 SX6 which had red lights.
  11. Looking at carsales I think 12k is a fair price point given the mileage. Good luck on the sale, I usually sell dirt cheap because im impatient lol.
  12. Depends on which headunit you have, On the base model press FM on the left and Scan on the right to get to the right frequency and hold one of the numbered buttons to save the station. If you aren't getting anything id be inclined to think the aerial isnt plugged in.
  13. This video here shows where he puts it but it's best to remove the supercharger etc so you don't get metal shavings in your engine. Might be an easier location but that looks decent to me.
  14. Not sure if it will be the case for you but I had that issue (vibration, didnt notice hesitation) which got progressively worse but to begin with I only noticed it on hard acceleration and it turned out to be a CV shaft. What did you need to splash 4 grand on?
