  1. Any bull bar build threads, pics, ideas for the GEN1, steel or ally doesn't matter, if anyone has done it pitfalls, any advice etc, I know it's a unibody construction but surely there is something out there other than a nudge bar, I feel the front sub frame could be modified without too much trouble, regards all Maurie.
  2. Hi, just for info, I need to replace front CV's and axles on my 1998 RAV4, I had been seriously looking at Flea Bay, the average price for a pair was around $200 AUD with a 12 month warranty. A reputable rebuild company wanted almost new part cost for a rebuild. I just purchased a pair for $471 with a 5 YEAR WARRANTY, more than happy for this price with the warranty, not off flea bay but from a reputable Aus parts company. I am going to start a build thread soon. Regards all. Maurie.
  3. Thanks again for you reply, it's pointing me in the right direction to replacing the axles or having a rebuild. Regards Maurie
  4. Thanks Tony, any recommendations on what brand to use and who does rebuilds, regards
  5. Has anyone used non original drive shafts, I have read the quality can vary, I only do about 10000 ks a year (if that) in this vehicle, I'm not buying original due to cost. Any comments would be appreciated regarding non original shaft quality and durability.
  6. Hi all, I have just acquired a 1998 RAV4 4 door, the rear seat backs fold down both ways but I cannot fold the folded seats forward. There is lever on the side of the seats but it appears the latch might be stuck, is there a fix for this, maybe an emergency release, does the seat have a latch on both sides of each seat or just a single latch close to the middle, any help woild be greatly appreciated, Regards Maurie.
