Hello,
I have a my18 prado gxl with 103000 km. Full service history, excellent condition. I purchased the vehicle second hand late last year and have generally enjoyed the experience.
In November, whilst towing a laden car trailer, a radar cruise system fault came up. Because the vehicle is fitted with a 5 post bullbar, the sensor has been relocated to the lower nearside front. Toyota recalibrated the system (under warranty as the bar was on the car when I bought it). No further problems....
Anyway, I am currently on a trip from the Nsw Riverina to FNQ, towing a camper trailer. Yesterday, for no apparent reason, fault messages for radar cruise control, lane departure and pre-crash system all flashed for a minute before going, not to be seen again.
Today, the 'pre crash system unavailable' warning came on and has remained on ever since.
I am assuming that the system runs off the one sensor. I've ensured it's clean.
All I can guess is that the front of the car is sitting higher due to the trailer and this may have thrown out the calibration....
Any suggestions? I don't want to be recalibrating the bloody thing each time I tow a trailer.
