  1. Nope I got the display to work, you can bypass the HU, the HU doesnt control the display, so look for a orphan wiring that is neither power, antenna or speakers and bingo.
  2. Thats what you would expect from Pedders or any major retailer. hows the warrranty on their work?
  3. u got it from toyota? any difference? very interested to know.. Yep , Melbourne City Toyota, it looks like its part of the car no doubt and feels like it too, and as said as before you need the spacers, the facia is not a standard shape, the car audio place i installed actually had the spacers to my suprise. I was originally thinking or overlaying my interior panels, the silver bits to polished granite like what you get in the Honda accord and euro, looks so much better,
  4. Top of my list to chose are... Osram Nightbreakers. Philips Xtreme Vision. Both are as good as each other, you'll need to browse the web to get the best prices though, Im happy with my night breakers, so much so people think im driving on Hibeams lol.
  5. Whether or not Toyota makes them or not, Toyota do sell it as a genuine part. it is around $30 bucks, Obviously the guy doesnt know what he is talking about, perhaps ask for the Camry double din facia as well, as they may have listed in under that car. I have one on my car to fit the Kenwood DDin unit.
  6. Fantastic work Jin, Somebody put a sticky on this, useful for replacing those annoyingly placed parkers.
  7. stupid question, but does the trd have hid's? i dont think they do... would your mates one work on the trd? I always thought the 3500SL would come with it...
  8. Yep get that, been complaining is some other thread, takes like 1-2sec before I get a response, shocking if you need to do a snap overtake and rather dangerous if you plan to overtake when the other lane is going faster... the car behind might just run into you..
  9. Hello, I had my Aurion fitted up with GAS. The car runs perfect with no loss of power and the running costs are 50% to that of petrol. I would not have had my car converted to LPG if it wasnt for this new injection system where you dont lose power. I spent 3 months researching LPG for the Aurion and I found the right installer (that is very important). Some people on the forum have said Toyota dont recommend LPG for the Aurion motor. News announcements last week indicated taxis going to the aurion with lpg so that cant be right. Also, Toyota had helped develop the LPG system for the Aurion but Toyota would rather have you buying the Prius; they dont make any money if you convert your car. The gas tank is not so big so its not too bad on space. This is what my fuel costed me, so far, in heavy city driving: 1. 290km $33 @ 64.9c/l 2. 240km $23 @ 64.9/l (with 4c discount per litre) Not bad, eh! I dont mind visiting the servos anymore. I am not really worried about the debate 'to convert or not to convert'. I am happy with the conversion. Ahh, how much all up, and where did you go for the conversion?
  10. Havent had that issue, mine acts differently that it just takes long to realise that youve planted the foot down, so theres a 1-2 sec delay in throttle response, but thatst the ECU adjusting... I would just advise the service center on this problem...
  11. Errrrr.... Aurion? Arent you on the 60k km service deal? $120 each service for upto 60k is cheap and plus you dont run the risk of warranty voidance.
  12. Take out keyless and auto lights, as they are standard on a Zr6. Plus I believe that Presara seats are more comfy?
  13. The only thing I notice from those photos is that the parkers are now the angel eyes, you can see that they have left the original parker reflector/section still intact even if its not in use at all, .... unless its interchangable...
  14. Ah ok, think you misunderstood me, thats what im planning to do myself, paint the inside chrome bit in black not the clear casing Anyways, also found these...but can't speak Thai to know what brand they are. I'd have them if it wasn't for the angel eyes. haha nah thats what I meant, instead of you butchering your genuine toyota ones, buy some cheaper JDM style like those on the pic and just replace the whole unit. Also have you got a link to more pics of this car or headlights?
  15. Nope, But they have one called the Allion haha, looks nothing really like the Aurion/Camry, but interior I can see some similarities but overall a different car. The japanese give the inferior versions to the rest of world haha.
  16. 1) What does the JDM light look like? 2) Where would I source it? Import monster cant help me find anything, Ive got no idea what to look for elsewhere. JDM style which is the inside plastic mould (light housing not the plastic glass front) is black, many lancers civic have this look as a mod. Umm not sure where to start perhaps ask the guy who bought the aftermarket grill?... but make sure you search for 'Camry' as its called a Camry (but Aurion looks) in SEast Asia.
  17. Id have the new FG FPV F6 Ute... But then all these cars are just showboats, paying a premium for the same practicality for the non performance counterpart. Same goes with the TRD Hilux, its all for show.
  18. Agree I wouldnt risk it, see if you can source JDM style headlights for the Aurion from overseas Thailand, Malay/Indo, and replace the whole unit...
  19. Your lucky, you know how much my R34 Xenon headlights would have costed me...? $1250 for one, but thats on an import and a old model car, although Nissan still manufactures parts for the car even if it was 8 years old...
  20. I wouldnt mind the new accord, its got 200killawasps as well, although im not sure on the 0-100 compared to the Aurion.. but for quality and interior its ahead, had a sit in it (luxury model) and makes you feel like your in merc or bmw to the least. and I doubt it has rattles like an Aus built car.. Nah, i dont think they are ladies cars at all, its not like your buying a civic or Jazz, lower and get some nice rims :),
  21. Is there any threads on the FG falcons on there yet? would love to see the common problems with this range of cars....
  22. Well, not really - back pressure is always bad. When you make an exhaust mod to a freer flowing one, you interfere with the fuel/air ratio - Most of the time, the engine starts to run lean, losing power down low. If you change the exhaust, you need to re-tune the parameters to compensate with a programmable computer. Whether or not you still enjoy the current fuel economy, is a different issue altogether. My civic with a b16A engine ran a 2.5inch mandrell bend exhaust, to produce 119kw and heaps of torque (haha..torque in a honda!) BTW, my Aurion dynoed at 153kw At the wheels. Yep corrected, high compression engines such I assume the B16 is?, and turbos where the exhaust turbine creates more restrictions or any engine that has exhaust pressure build up from low down , require a more free flowing exhaust, but there is a point where you cant sticka 6" inch exhaust system even if you can remap AFR's and expect it to be increasingly performing. Oh your's did 153fwkw? Rolla or Hub dyno and is your car stock?
  23. Also a point I think the G6E has launch control too, I wouldnt mind testing that out too... I would opt for the G6E anyday based on the papers, but yeah as people said its a series 1, look at the BA's when they first came out... and plus you will soon be expecting lots of modifications for this car if your into it, I doubt the TRD Aurion will have upgrade packages dedicated to it all...
  24. Lol I might be being harsh but with your problems.. probably the TCS system doesnt work as well!
