Thanks the reply. OBDII did work but only a small amount of data. The only option is Techstream pre 2006 Aussie toyota's I believe. Thanks for your reply.

Hi all, New member looking to sort out my Mum's car. As far as I'm aware the 2002 Avalon I have here has an OBDII plug but is only OBD protocol? So do I need an OBDII to USB adapter and then have to use Techstream on a windows laptop? Is there another way around this headache? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
