It seems to sit very close to your bumper, you might want to keep an eye on that as heat in the ehaust tip could damage it Never mind I had a look At the Remus website & there are pictures on there of your system. The system on the Sportivo sits lower. Are you happy with it? I think mine's great, love the sound & the look
  2. Apart from the looks, its all the same as lucio has mentioned. The finish/quality is better....., well the finish/quality is the same as I noticed, results very from car to car, no matter pre or post facelift. Actually the heavier gear knob was done by the recall (along with the clutch cables), as it was done on mine. So either way you go, pre or post facelift, you can't go wrong dude. I own a pre-facelift stivo, no rattles, no issues, excellent stock power and economy (ask any Melbourne who knows my car) and would only upgrade it if the Compressor gets released in Australia. I agree. There are 4 Sportivo's in my family, 2 x 04's & 2 x 05's & there is no difference with the build quality. There are only 2 extra features on the 05 model, Auto up & down for all four windows & a MP3 CD player. Personally I like the silver finish in the interior on the 04 better than the fake Carbon Fibre or whatever it is in the 05, although having said that it is easy to scratch the silver on the 04. Also I have weighed the gear knob's out of curiosity as I had never heard about this, they are both the same weight. As far as Tyre's go I think alot of people stay with standard until they are worn out or upgrade to a 17" wheel with a 215/45/17 as I have done. Having said that there would be no problem with fitting a 205/50/16 to the standard rim if you wanted to, I'm sure this would give you reasonable improvement in grip levels
  3. those 250 units were sold only the in the UK I'm mean't to say the U.K. only, my bad. But what I said about the 300 units of normal Sportivo's is true. Corolla's in general are selling very well at the moment but I'm sure that there would still be some Sportivo's left & I'm sure Dealers would not want to hang onto them as they are plated 05 not 06. One funny thing about it is that everyone of them had there gear knob stolen while they were on the wharf. What kind of stupid person steals a gear knob that probably only fits on a handful of cars anyway. Goodluck trying to sell them.
  4. Nothing wrong with Remus, I have one fitted to Corolla Sportivo which is the same as your T-Sport, although the sysyem isn't loud it does sound great. The best thing in my opinion is that there is no cabin drone at cruising speeds. Have you had experience with a Remus sysytem before? If you like check out the photos in the current post "Remus Exhaust", hopefully I will have sound bite up by the weekend.
  5. Here some photo's of my Remus Muffler, I will try & post a sound bite over the next couple of days
  6. I believe X-force are supposed to be an excellent system also. Never tried one myself but there seems to be several members who speak highly of them. I will have to check it out this weekend at the meet, hopefully will see you there. :D :D
  7. I have just recently had the Remus Muffler fitted to my 04 Sportivo. I am extremely happy with what I got. The sound of the exhaust is deep & throaty but relatively quiet. Meaning that there is plenty of noise when you are excelarating but when you cruising along at a steady speed it is very quiet, no cabin drone which is typical of most exhaust. There is not really any difference with the power of the car, maybe a little more torque but it has definately made the engine breathe better & it now seems more willing to rev. It also looks fantastic. The finish of the muffler is second to none. I have heard many different exhaust on the Sportivo in particular & in my opinion the sound that is generated is better than most, but obviously this is a personnal opinion. Worth every penny although I'm not sure if I should be saying this as I like being one of the few who have this exhaust.
  8. For anyone that wants to know. My father who works for Toyota Australia has just taken delivery of his new Corolla Sportivo that has come out of the last batch of Corolla Sportivo's to land in the country. The total number that came into the country in this shipment was 300. This quantitiy will be distributed around the country with most going to Sydney & Melbourne. I would say that most of these are available as he as only recived his in last few weeks. He has also told me that it is highly unlikey that we will get the compressor version in this Country as there were only 250 distrubuted worldwide & to his knowledge no more will be made.
  9. I can't find an 18" tyre that will legally fit the Corolla ACCORDING TO NSW LAW'S. 215/35/18 - Correct size but Tyre does not meet load rating requirements. 225/35/18 - This tyre will meet the required load rating but is too wide according to the Law. You can only go 1" wider than standard. This means if you have a Sportivo which comes with a 195/55/16 you can only go as wide as a 215 & if you go up to an 18" you must come down to a 35 series. An 18" inch wheel in a 40 series will meet your load rating but will not meet the overall diameter requirements. This will throw your speedo out so is not good in many ways. If annyone can prove me wrong & find a 215/35/18 tyre with at least an 87V load rating than let me know as would would consider buying a set straight away. Having said that I bought myself a set of high quality Japanese forged rims in 17". They are very light & strong & suit the car without being overstated. I ride on 215/45/17 Bridgestone Potenze GIII, which are a great tyre but expensive. Worth it in the end though as they wear really well. One other thing, a 45 series tyre will scrub occasionally with a 35mm drop on standard shocks on rough roads such as the Nasho is in Sydney but otherwise they are an ideal tyre size, giving better comfort than a 40 series & filling the gap a little better. You should also understand that if you were involved in an accident that was your fault With Illegal Wheels & Tyres's fitted to the car & an Insurance Investigator was to assess you vehicle you RUN THE RISK of VOIDING your policy as your car will not be road legal. Imagine having to cover the cost of the damage to your vehicle & anything else you may have hit. this has happened to people I know so I speak from experinece.
  10. Wheel Alignment has nothing to do with Steering Shake. Wheel alignment only controls what direction your car will travel in, preferably a straight line. A car with bad alignment will pull either left or right when travelling a long a level straight road at a constant speed. An unbalanced wheel will also shake the steering wheel. Try getting your wheels re-balanced first. Shouldn't cost more than $30. More than likely the steering shake is caused by not have Hub Locating Rings as you insatalled the wheels yourself. Any good tyre shop will have heaps of various sizes availabe if your wheels didn't have them included. It will just be matter of trying each size until the correct size is found. If the Tyre shop you go to doesn't know what you're talking about than they do not know what they are talking about so find another shop. Also I'm glad to hear your getting your car lowered by suspension professionals & that they are doing the wheel alignment. Tyre shops don't know S#$T when it comes to doing a proper alignment & camber adjustment. Anyway, good luck, I'm sure the problem is an easy fix. :D :D Wheel Alignment has nothing to do with Steering Shake. It is very common for people to be defected for this small over sight. If you are not sure the load rating is printed on the sidewall of the tyre.
  11. Hey glad to hear you are alright, we all got a bit worried. We didn't see one cop & we had no traffic on the way down. We all took it pretty easy anyway. The Nasho is a good drive even when your crusin'. Anyway its shame you missed put, maybe next time. By the way, your car is looking & sounding great. See you at the next meet. :D :D
  12. There are at least two turbo 2ZZGE's that I know of in the country, both Celica's that have been featured in Australian magazine's on several occasions. One has the plates "PETIR" & one that was owned by a 1st grade ARL player, can't think of his name. Anyway check BLITZ USA website to see there supercharged Celica, bloody awesome. :D :D
  13. I've had the same problem of steering wheel shake for quite some time, only happens at exactly 110KPH. I saw this post & followed the same advise about getting my front disk machined. After getting the car back I feel they are actually a little worse. Has anyone got any other suggestions, & yes I have also had my wheels re-balanced, although I didn't change my brake pads, maybe this is the cause, I don't know.
  14. I should be free on that night, so I will come along. Shame about the double demerit points for that period
