  1. I had to repace my tyres at 36,800 k as the edges were badly worn but not the centres. I very regularly checked the pressures in them.

    The new Bridgestones have done just under 10,000k and show bad signs of feathering on the edge once again, despite being rotated, balanced and wheel align done at 5,000 k's and due again.

    Went back to Bob Jane where I bought them from yesterday and was told that was 'normal' wear and to keep up the rotations etc and that 36,000 k out of my old ones was doing well and the new ones were doing 'well' also despite the feathering edges. So 1 year out of 4 x $400 tyres? 7-8 wheel alignments and balances (every 5,000k) in the lifetime of the tyre adds up to a lot of $$$ or the price of 1 tyre in the 1 yr I expect to get from them.

    I asked about the Hankook or Toyos and they advised that I would get even less mileage out of those and that some were only getting 18,000k from them.

    Am I just being jerked around here? What are peoples experiences with other tyres after they have done around 10,000 k's or more on them?

  2. Just put 4 new Bridgestones on my AWD Grande 4 wks ago, have done around 3,000 k's on them and they are showing signs of edge scrubbing already. Is there a fix for this problem?

    The old Bridgestones were replaced at 36,500k's and had tread in the centre but the edges were bald. Tyres were rotated regularly and wheel alignments done.

  3. 36,000 k's and my tyres need replacing.

    I've done a bit of a search and found some have fitted Toyo Open Country's instead of the OEM Bridgestones, is there any other tyre that will fit on the OEM rims other than the 2 mentioned?

    Any feedback on the Toyo's or prices? I'm not real impressed with the wear of the Duelers or the price....

  4. How much for the springs? Any more feedback and pics on the springs? I wouldn't mind raising mine as it doesn't really have much ground clearance.

  5. Any idea if the light output is better than OEM? I find my low beam is very poor, to the point that passengers will often ask if I have my lights on.

    I have headlight protecters, would this affect light output?

    I wonder if that is true? I was thinking of getting some, I also think that the high beam is not that great, but perhaps that is because of the height of the lights and less reflection off things on the side of the road? Did you get yours from toyota or aftermarket?

    Got them from Toyota.

  7. A car seat cover stall at Paddy's Markets, Homebush, Sydney will custom make a set for the front 2 rows, may even have them ready made. A friend and I both bought a set about a year ago, can't remember how much but wasn't a lot.

  9. Just checked mine after the replacement was done, it has the rubber section and is not the full metal pipe, what a waste of time Toyota service is.

    Also came back missing 2 plastic clips that hold the black plastic between the grill and radiater in place, have they got monkeys instead of mechanics?

    About to ring Toyota now........after holding on the Cust Service line for Recalls (1800 643 242) for over 1/2 hr I gave up.

    Rang the dealer, no help there," Toyota supplied us the part and we just put it in, don't know anything about a full metal pipe."

  10. Had mine done 3 days ago, got the letter yesterday.

    Did they replace it with a steel pipe?

    Good point, haven't checked, will look tomorrow though. The part no on the invoice says 04009833131. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I should have thought to check, last time dealer told me they did the air filter I found it full of bugs, dirt etc, obviously the cover hadn't even been removed. Toyota service.....NOT!!!!.

  11. I had the new JTG Liquid Injection system installed a couple of months ago.

    Mine is the 1st and only Kluger done with this system (as far as I know) and was a custom install.

    ALPGW has since done a JTG Li kit for the Aurion (same motor)

  12. Like I said, everything has been replaced on mine, shoes, cable etc and it has been adjusted sooo many times by the dealer I have lost count. Also had it adjusted by my own mechanic at least twice.

    Toyota Aust did come to my home to inspect the steepness of my driveway, (it's not that steep) every other car I know holds on it easily. Unfortunately I was away when Toyota came and couldn't find out any result, probably filed in the 'too hard, don't really care Toyota basket.'

    This is my first Toyota and if my particular car is anything to go on, Toyota quality has slipped badly.

    Would I buy another Toyota after my experience with a $65k Kluger, probably not. Love the car, hate the numerous problems with it.
