    Handbrake

Please people complain to your dealer about this problem and ask them to log a record of it to Toyota. My dealer contacted Toyota Motor Co last Wednesday morning, heard nothing until (5.35 pm Fri) when the dealer called and said was Monday is a holiday for us so you may hear something Tuesday but Toyota will definately want your car to look at....... I am so over this car!!!!! :( I too use a boat ramp to launch my jet ski.....no way the brake holds backwards, it's just like it's in neutral it rolls back that fast. Lucky I don't need to launch a cruiser of any size. Blackluger...my plastic on the towbar area did the same thing, dropped one clip.

6,500k's on the clock now but they were first notified of the fault before the complimentary 1000k service.

    Handbrake

Continuing story of the 'handbrake'........... Dealer had the car for 4 days, yes, thats another 4 days, and replaced the cable, shoes and machined the discs and once again adjusted it.....I took it home tested it on my driveway and .....it still didn't hold at all !!!!!!!!!!! Straight back on the ph to dealership.......yes, booked it in again! Result? another day at the dealer where they 'adjusted handbrake after cable settled in' and guess what???? yes, it was improved, doesn't roll quickly down the drive with h/brake full on now, just creeps slowly down!!!!!! Dealer has had it for a total of 7 days for this problem alone and as of Wed morning notified Toyota Motor Co of the problem.

Well the dealer had it for a day and still couldn't get it to hold so it's booked in again next week to have new shoes and cable fitted <_<

    Handbrake

Got a call from my dealer this morning asking me to come up and pick up the assist service manager and take him to my driveway to show him how it doesn't hold. Did the above and he was horrified at how the car just rolled straight down my drive, the h/brake not doing a thing to even slow the car down. It's now booked in again (3rd time), for a whole day and they will supply me a loan car..........................
  8. Last trip was 472 k's and the light came on, 91 octane, trip comp said 25 k's to go, avg 12.5 and took 61 litres to fill 90% counrtry roads and highway, towing a box trailer with 2 motorbikes and full of gear etc. 2 adults, 2 kids, back of the Kluger full as well. Speedo was sitting on 100 - 120.
  9. What size Roo Lights are they and did they fit easily? I was thinking of Lightforce 240's, how do the R/L's perform?

    Handbrake

Have had my Kluger back to Toyota twice now for the handbrake adjustment and it still doesn't hold. I am not talking a steep hill, only my driveway (see avatar), there is no hope of it holding on a boat ramp or steeper hill. 1st time they said it was adjusted to 'within spec,' 2nd time they said it was adjusted to within one notch of full adjustment and that I should not expect the handbrake to hold on it's own and should put the auto in Park to stop the vehicle roling down a hill. If I do this when I start the car to drive off it's hard to put into drive and makes a loud thud/clunk noise to do so....don't think its doing the auto any good. Another Kluger, same model holds easily on my driveway without being in "P" while mine rolls at normal rolling speed with h/brake full on, on all the way to the flat of my garage. Anyone else got a problem handbrake or a solution for Toyota?

    Gas Conversion

A friend of mine had his '08 Grande converted to LPG about 2 wks ago. I was going to have mine done as well but am now waiting on the new Liquid Injection LPG system that claims more power and within 5-10% (or better) economy as petrol. The new Li LPG system has only just been released a few days ago for Fords, Commodores and Territory coming soon. Selected installers are now attending courses for certification to fit the new system. Australian LPG Warehouse is supplying the systems and has said there will be a kit for the 08 Kluger available very soon.

    Cabin Lights

I thought the little light was a UV light to illuminate the control markings on the steering wheel.

    Toyota Advantage

I had my hand brake adjusted at the 1,000 k free check as it wouldn't hold at all. It wouldn't hold on any sort of hill or a boat ramp or even in my driveway which isn't that steep (see avatar). It came back slightly better but is still useless unless pushed all the way to the floor and then only just holds. Was told it was adjusted within 'spec' but I still need to put a brick in front of my wheels in my driveway.
  15. Any more info on the Liquid Injection Systems? I am looking at having my Kluger converted but if something better is coming soon it could be worth the wait. Thanks
  16. Well it's not the windscreen in mine...Toyota replaced the screen today and the rattle is still there.
  17. I've had mine back to Toyota re the rattles in the passenger side dash but they weren't able to hear them. Sometimes the noise drives me crazy so my next step is to take a digital voice recorder in the car to try and record the rattles for them.
  18. Thanks Taka, I'll be off to get a set :D

    Headlights/HID

Has anyone converted their headlights to HID? If so, what's involved and is the result worth the effort/cost? I am not impressed with the standard headlights and wondering if HID would be an improvement.

    Kluger Windscreen

Thanks for all the feedback so far. So when you are going around a left hand corner and the view is distorted that is acceptable? On a $65k vehicle? And yes, on occasions you can see it while looking straight ahead. Anyone else got any feedback on this? I am interested to know if this is 'how windscreens are these days' or if it's a genuine problem.
  21. No, not for the Kluger specifically.....just a bucket seat seat cover. Silver Cloud was the brand 'I think'

    Kluger Windscreen

Another Kluger I know has the same problem, hardly noticable when looking straight ahead but look to the left and it's really bad.
  23. SuperCheap was advertising air bag compatable lambswool seat covers a few weeks ago ~ $200 I think.
  24. Has anyone noticed a ripple effect in their windscreen? It's most apparent when sitting in the drivers seat and looking from the drivers seat to the left through where the passenger looks.
  25. Thank you Scot_C but how do I get around this: "Note: At this time we can only accept accounts from subscribers with US mailing and billing addresses"? This may help.....http://www.priceusa.com.au/
