  1. Hi everyone, as the title suggests just all of a sudden they just stopped working. I haven't got a workshop manual, so I just checked the fuse under the drivers side kick panel, it looked ok. I was thinking relay but haven't got a clue were it may be, so if anyone that is knowlegeable with these cars could help me out, it would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance for any help.
  2. What I should have added is when it stops on her, it can be started up again and goes ok until it decides to stall on her again.
  3. Hi everyone, I hoping someone can help me out. My auntie has a 1981 corona which just conks out on her, it seems to happen when it starts to go up a hill, not always but does happen, she is an old lady and really panicks when it happens of course. She took it to the local mechanic which he just changed the fuel filter but this did not fix the problem. So would anyone know what I should be looking at to fix this problem ? really appreciate any help.
  4. Ok, thanks for your reply.
  5. Could be one of a number of things but an easy starting point would be to look at the plugs and check the leads. Not knowing your knowledge of mechanics from there on it gets a little more tricky, EI checking fuel delivery, as the system should be under pressure which should be released before checking especially if the motor is hot. A good mechanic should be able to pick up the problem quite cheaply. Thank you for your reply, I will check the plugs and leads, I have just been told that it is only hesitant to start from cold start, once its been driven she starts up normally, shall see what happens . many thanks
  6. Hi all, my mums got a 1989 Camry 4 cyl, lately it takes quite a few turns of the key to before she actually starts running, it sounds strong battery/ ignition wise but seems like its not getting the amount of fuel it needs to kick over, once its going it runs fine. any suggestions what could be causing this would be appreciated

  9. Thanks very much guys, does sound like a pric of a job, I will tell him to ahead and fix it then sounds reasonable enough, also tell him to replace the main seal as well, thank you, much appreciated.
  10. Hi all, my mum has a 1989 Camry [4 cyl ] , apparantly her water pump is buggered, a mechanic has priced the job in the $500 range, he said it is a big job and whilst he is there he may as well fit a new timing chain, does this sound right to you guys [ the price i mean], i don't anything about toyota cars but my mate has just reffitted a new water pump on his holden V6 com' and said it only took him an hour or so. appreciate any comments thanks
