  1. Hi, I have the exact same problem with a Rav 4. Have you had a successful outcome yet ?
  2. Thats not a bad price for a towbar, they are a real pain to install. Just keep in mind that if you buy and fit genuine Toyota accessories from new, they are covered by the new vehicle warranty....ie 3 years 100,000km. Also, genuine Toyota accessories purchased and fitted to any Toyota through a dealer are warranted for the remainder of the new vehicle warranty, ie if your car is 12 months old and you fit genuine side steps, they are covered for the next 2 years until your warranty expires.
  3. I think if you look in your warranty and service book that you'll find the first complimentary service is valid any time between 1000 and 5000 km, but the offer expires after three months, most customers come in after around 1000 km. Just drive normally and a couple of longer trips wouldn't hurt. I stand corrected, just checked and you can take it in any time UP to 5000 km. The offer expires if you do OVER 5000 km or three months elapses
  4. Toyota genuine price for a towbar fitted on a new Aurion is $758.78 including wiring
  5. First scheduled oil change is at 15000 km, if a dealer chooses to do it sooner then it's up to them.
  6. My first concern would be for your friend who helped you out buying under the employment scheme. I he has done anything dishonest or illegal by helping you ( even unknowingly ) then you may be compromising his position and putting yourself in a position where the dealer may be able to ask you for even more money up to the normal retail price. If it's all above boards then I think your email records should be proof enough to make the contract stand.Good luck.
  7. The flat alloy washers are used for the gearbox because it's mating surface is the machined cast body of the gearbox, whereas the crush washer for the diff is used because the mating surface is not machined flat. When you tighten the crush washer it will flatten slightly. You MUST replace this type of washer with a new one every time it is removed. I always replace the alloy ones as well, but if they are in good condition you should get away with using them again. If the gearbox filler plug, washer and mating surface are in good condition there is no way it can leak so the oil must be coming from somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend using any tape or sealant at all, the proper washers will give you an oil tight seal.
  8. Check out 'Carryboy' canopies available from Autobahn, very good quality, lifetime warranty and they look real smart too!
  9. Try Autobahn, I know last month they had a new supplier of rear wings for Corolla and Aurion/Camry, might be worth a go
  10. Sounds like an idle air control valve (IAC)problem to me. Cleaning it may work temporarily but might not be enough, you might have to replace it. Maybe you could borrow one off a mate and try it for a few days before forking out for a new one.
  11. I have noticed that many here refer to the 'sports' mode on their Aurion's. Just thought I'd mention that the transmission in the Aurion is not sold nor advertised as having a 'sports' mode. It is purely a 'sequential' shift mode and that's what the 'S' on the instrument display stands for
