  1. Could we please have this pinned to the top as well for future reference :) :)
  2. Hi Guys My March 2008 model is as quiet as a mouse..so far. :)
  3. The animation is just there to hide the bootup screen that all pc's have running in the background. Your losing sight of the fact that now you do have a reversing camera where as in your previous car you probably did not. Did you whinge to that manufacturer that the rear vision sucked no matter how long the car had been started....Noooo. Just be greatful that you can atleast see half your driveway when reversing instead of using the brail method like we all did in times gone by. So in responce to the original question, unfortionally no,there is no way of speeding up the time it takes to display the reversing camera at this time but hopefully in the future a different type of screen may become available and than it may improve. We are in the hands of the Toyota finance gods.
  4. So much intelligence for a threesum of headphones; tomorrow we'll tackle world peace....or that annoying thing with the GPS disabeling above 5ks, whichever comes first.
  5. If you have the middle seat in place and the console in the hole, the remote can hide in the console lid and the three headphones fit in on top easily.
  6. I've had the beast for two weeks now and I'm on my 5th tank already. The first three averaged between 12.6 and 12.2 on 91 Ron fuel covering between 450 to 500kms. The 4th tank I used 95 Ron petrol and to my surprise the usage jumped up to 15.5 l/100km and the range went down to 420 kms. This tank is back to 91 and the figures are down to 12 even. I have also noticed that the "distance to empty" guesstimate and the fuel guage are way out. Even running the car well past the "Zero range left",and having a 1mm gap between the TOP of the fuel guage pointer and the "E" (yes I run it down off the scale ), and filling the tank up untill I can see the petrol at the top of the filling tube, I have only managed to squeeze 65 L in tops. Therefor I should be able to get another 100kms out of a tank but I'm not game enough to try that yet.
  7. Look on the bright side...At least we can fit larger, better, cheeper tyres (255/55R19 ) and for a change our speedos will become more accurate !!! :) :) ( 9 days untill pickup :D :D )

    2008 kluger

Ordered 10th Dec, built in March, Still waiting,,they claim pickup 21st/04. We will see !!!
  9. OD = outer diameter? The 245/55R19 have on OD of 756 . 255/55R19 are 763. Slightly larger but well within the magic 3% range. 275/50R19 are 766 and for those who want 20" rins, the direct replacement is 275/45R20 ( 755 )
  10. Hi Guys,,This just appeared on the US site,It might be worth giving it a go; Just follow the link..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Unlock-2004-2008-Toyota-Lexus-Factory-Navigation-DVD_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38653QQihZ013QQitem Z230230948349QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  11. I've been doing some calling around, here's what Iv'e found. You can get this Apollo system fitted to the new model Kluger,"Premier Auto Center" (http://www.premierautocentre.com.au/index.htm) in Sydneys west have done a couple now. They cost $4495 but you get $2000 back. The 54 L tank is a "Donut Type" that lives where your spare use to be. Where the spare will live after the conversion is up to you. The filler connection goes in behind the fuel cap door next to the petrol filler. Toyota does not warrent anything to do with the conversion but you can buy an insurance policy from Premier for $199 which covers you for anything that Toyota wont honor for the same period as the orriginal warranty. Alternitively if you live in N.S.W. you can go to "Apollo's" website ( http://www.apolloproducts.com.au/index.aspx ) and ask for your local installer. Apollo only supply the kits. At the moment, there is a 1 month wait untill you can get in. The Premier website has a "savings caculator" on it and according to that,I will recover the conversion costs in the first year. The mechanic also told me that the new motor (3.5 L) handels the gas well and they have had no complaints or failures from any of the vehicles with that motor that they have converted. Lets see who will be the first to bite the bullet and have it done...
  12. Thanks JD for your honest approach to this thread. Like yourself, I am a multiple Forum member,as are several other prominment members of this forum (you know who you are !!!).We all have our vehicle loyalities but who's to say we don't own both? We take the ***** out of the "other" manufactures because in some small way it helps to justify in our own mind our purchase of that particular vehicle which I'm sure nobody took lightly before they signed on the dotted line. I am equally positive that no member of either forum would wish any mishap/problem onto another manufacturer or their followers because as wev'e all seen numerous times, tomorrow it may happen to us !! We are all here to sing the praises of our particular Make and model but also to learn it's weaknesses and more importantly to share these thoughts and experiences with our cyber friends so we can all learn. At the end of the day we all want to enjoy our cars to the fullest whatever they are. I think that "Terra Australis" may be right... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WOW!!!!! johnydep... followed the link you put up for the toyota site...introduced me to an entire new world ...maybe we should invite them on our next cruise and show them how much fun we have in our Territories... __________________ I think we should all get together and have a "Bloody Good Weekend" United we stand and show the "stealers" we mean buisiness.(and take the ***** in person)
  13. Hi Oatesy, firstly, welcome to the club. I'm sure you'll find plenty of usefull info here and hopefully bring some with you aswell. I think that the following link will point you in the right direction. Have a poke around in this site. It's pretty good. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=224252
  14. Yes,my price is verrrry good :D :Yes,I am part of a multi-national company with OZ Branches in every capital City, over 100 fleet cars nationally = Big fleet discount ;) : Yes I do have to wait a long time for my colour and options :( and Yes, I have sent other work colleagues to this salesman so Aardvark's theory about long waiting times may be right <_< . All in all,as much as I HATE the wait, SHMBO keeps reminding me that my present car will be fully paid off by then and therefor a "no cost to us " change over with my daughter keeping my present company car (Falcon XR8) On second thoughts, the Hand Break can have the Falcon and my daughter can have the Camry...Much safer. (But I'd still have my new car tomorrow if I could swing it )
  15. Taka...You the man. This site is gold.. The Yanks ask all the questions that we think would be too trivial. All members should join using there identical AU login name and password. That way we'll all know if one of us is online or has asked a question. Before you poo poo this idea, just think of the problems, questions and answers we will have access to with the US and Canada online. Our Kluger ownership numbers are only a decimal point compared to them.

    Reverse cam

Maybe we can change the two dodgie looking reflectors for LED reverse lamps. PC XT might be able to help with this being the King of LED's. :P :P
  17. Mmmmm it does means stick out a lot. 15cm (i am good measuring thing with my mind).... It may look odd without the nudge bar as it will nearly look like a set of wings in the car.! Does that mean that Aardvark will now be known as Dumbo or maybe even "wingnut" :D :D :D
  18. Good on ya Aardvark, welcome to the club!!! Bet you can't wait for next week.
  19. Chullora Nobel Toyota, I already weakened them for you! good work good Colour I bought the Dealer Principles car there! Is yours AWD? If it is thats a Mad Buy! We have Been driving our Blue one since October last year ...Happy waiting your a definite number for some one! Yes it is an AWD ,mine is the Glacier Blue not the Tidal Blue :P . My neighbour just picked up a new Aurion and the bugger got a cyan blue one :( and I couldn't bare having two cars the same colour sitting one meter away from each other in the driveways so I changed mine to the lighter colour.
  20. Mine is $60k3 drive away with tow pack, nudge bar, sidesteps, mats, rubber cargo mat and some free plastics for having to wait soooo long. Ordered it Dec 10 for whats now a late April delivery, all because I wanted a blue one!!!!

    New Kluger

Just finished talking to the stock controller,Feb /March build and mid April (15th) delivery to the dealer.I can than pick it up about 7 to 10 days after that. If I wanted to change it to a pearl white,I could have it in three weeks,A graphite or Ebony one would be mid March but I'd rather wait for the blue. The Tracking system still shows me "On Order" but that will change in about two weeks so he tells me. 52 days untill I get my new car and counting....
  22. Captain Kaos

    New Kluger

I'm still just "On Order" with no firm dates for production. We won't even talk about delivery. :( :( :(
