  1. Right im a camry owner but a mate of mine brought his girlfriend a 89 celica sorry dont know the model number and what not, but id did have a 3s-ge in it which has since passed away it now has a 3s-gte in it out of an MR2 and a manual gearbox out of an SV21 cam. Its all in all plugged up and runs but not fine. The 4th cylinder isnt firing and it has spark, compression but 0 fuel which ive found to come to injector pulse. All the injectors were cleaned and checked as well as the fuel rail and they were all fine just to rule out anything simple. I have tested the plug and lume and it seems to be that the ECU is cactus on that 1 injector but the rest are fine it just sounds like a boxer when running. The question i have is since the motor is still ran of a dizzy can i tap the injector thats getting no power onto the next 1? I was told it may not work as the injectors could work in order with the firing time but i dont see how thats possible when its a dizzy car theres no way it could tell when it could fire (please correct me if im wrong) but will that tapping idea work for a signal or do the injectors run on there own times? cheers.
  2. nah man ur making a hard job easy the square gromet is easy done you can literally unbolt it and take it out thus allowing it much easier to pierce a hole through the gromet so the wires can pass through safely, also under the dash should be like a black sheild drop that out with the door open and you should be able to see carpet pass the wire through piece of *****, thats where my amp cable alarm siren all go through there.
  3. Check the light around the key ive put neons in the foot wells and i have them run off the key light so that there is a delay and gives a pretty cool effect being that i dont have an ultima and havnt realy looked in 1 so this is really just a gues and saying have a look at that as they run off a different circuit (well i presume due to the delay) if thats not the case then i could only assume that they have there own fuse...i dont think that makes sence anyway give that a crack if worst comes to worst try and trace the wiring back it might be a long and painfull proscess but it will deffenatly give you an answer. Thats about all i can suggest for now. I just remembered something so i hadto edit the post but i had trouble with the lights behind my a/c controls 1 half kept flicking in and out and i found out where the factory split was to the 2 different lights the connection was shotty so i chopped and resoldered it with a decent connection and never had trouble since. being that the interior lights now that i think of it it would make sence to keep them on the same lines off the doors they may be the same problem i experianced. good luck with it.

  5. there are certain ways that new transmitters can be programmed with ef falcons ya havto like hold the dimister button and turn the key on and off like 10 times and then press the new transmitter. alot of systems are like that toyota im not sure of surely you may be able to google it elsewhere or see if a local toyota dealer can tell ya the trick wish i could help more.
  6. $2.25 to make it sound not so bad along a sealed road at a mates farm if you cant work out the speed from that price...yeh...still had more in it but stock width tyres + braking distance fading by the second it wouldnt have been a great plan to push it further
  7. Hey all me again, I was just doin the rounds on my car as ya do and i have been losing fluid every1 keeps sayen it powersteering fluid but i havnt had to top it up but i have hadto top up the oil on occasion but unable to find where the friggen hell its been coming from until this morn. I have been told by a couple of mechanics that the rocker covers can come loose over time on the older model v6 camrys, but when i brought the car i had it serviced and knew of a leak and was told that it was the rear rocker cover loose but had been tightend as they hadto pull the plenum off to get to it and all that. As i was mucken round though just making sure all things where tight i had a go at a nut on the rear rocker cover on the drivers side of the plenum and the ******en thing was so loose im supprised the dam thing hasnt fallen out! so putting 2 and 2 together that slime bag hunk of **** lieing mechanic didnt do the job (not that i paid for it) but has anyone else had this problem? or is it like a 1 off case like rare as and im the unlucky 1? also what hell do i havto go through to tighten them all up obviously the plenum may havto come off (i didnt bother trying to look to ****** off at the time).
  8. Cheers man ill havto do some research into it and save up at the moment im trying to save up for a set of Tremor mags through bob janes finished in a machine black just reckon they would look metal now i got 20% all round tint and my stickers on it. ill soon have some pics of what it should look like in due time after i get the cash but im in the process of photoshopping some mags onto it and lowering itjust so i know what the end result would kinda look like.
  9. Sounds fair do they make the piggy back units for those ECUS? Ive worked in an after market automotive field and ive never had the privilage to look at a camry let alone touch 1 until i brought mine. Do you know what brand if any piggy back units will work with the particular ECUS camrys have?
  10. I just done the front brake in my car upgraded the front discs and pads (old ones were knakkerd) and now i have a problem when i was embedding the new pads the brake light on the dash came on near the end of the embedding process and it turned off i just thought it was the fact i was riding the brakes and taking of all the time, but every now and then it comes back on and i wanted to know if any1 has had this or a similar problem and how to fix it. Also when should the fuel light come on? and is it at a certain point like some cars it comes on when there is 10 liters left or so.
  11. I knew the es 300s had a little bit more power but from what ive read i thought that was something to do with the exhaust but i could be wrong, does anyone know if they had a diff ecu or was it the same with all the 3vzs?
  12. ah k then sick as cancer cheers for that supa dude. Thats answers why i thought stuff did that and all that. On that note do yas have any other idea for more poke? At the moment the only change ive done is put a pod filter on and my car launches like hell and as soon as it hits like 3700rpm it really squats and runs. Ive done a little research on exhausts and things and ive been told anything more than a 2 1/4 inch pipe youll be loosing over gaining so i got that on the card and a mate whos a mechanics and does a fair bit of work on imports reckons that the 3vz-fe should have a similar reaction to extractors like the quad cam V8s do in the certain model aristos and soarers (i cant spell for shat) he reckons that they gain a fair bit of torque and bit more kws. So yeah if anyone has had any experiance with those ideas id like to know i wanna get my car off its guts and make falcadore owners fear at the lights.
  13. Vienta head unit are a piece of ***** i used to be an auto tech and i have done my own and they are easy. to answer the 1st q.. your immobiliser shouldnt be bothered by the new deck the security is just the head units security code. 2nd q.. soldering is always the best way it save **** coming undone and unexplained flicking on and off of the deck speakers ect... 3rd q.. all named brand head units are the same dimentions e.g. sony, pioneer, kenwood all that stuff and on the side of the decks there is useually either a T or an N (ie: toyota and nissan) for the bracets to screw into so ther should fit first time every time. Need anymore help i can get what colours the wires you need and all that for ya. Thanks for the info!! That would be great! Also, can you give me some more instructions about soldering the wiring? I have no idea how and never have soldered things before.. And one more thing, I have read that it is very important to disconnect the car battery before attempting to do anything, how do I disconnect it? Sorry for all the newb questions.. Cheers, sung Just drop the black terminal off the battery it wont zap or short or anything like that it may be a little time befor i get the colors of wires ect depending on where you were based i could do it for ya. but that just might not be possible. soldering just find ya wires that you need strip em and twitch together pretty easy when ya do it once you can do it forever just gotta make sure its a strong connection and should be gold!
  14. Fair enough just lookin at the stats mines a gen 3 and the gen 3.5 was that little bit more powerful and figured it may have been just a little fine tuning with the next series wide body ecu as the motor gearbox ect stayed the same.
