When I plan to get HIDs, I'm going to make sure that the HID kit that I get comes with a resistors which will help you from burning your current wiring that is in your car. I wonder though that in the base models all wiring would maybe be similar to ones found in the ZR which have HIDs which means that we would be well off... Nothing can beat a profesional install. If something goes wrong HID then you will always be covered for warranty.

Tecnhically it's not the same engine... To start off, the engine has both variable valve timing on the intake and exhaust valves whereas before it was only on the exhaust. Also comparing the bore and stoke of the 1ZZ-FE models to the 2ZR-FE... 1ZZ-FE 79.0(bore) / 91.5(stroke) = 0.86338... (bore/strke ratio) 2ZR-FE 80.5 / 88.3 = 0.91166... This shows that the 1ZZ-FE is more of an undersquare engine compared to the 2ZR-FE(square engine). It also has a longer stroke so the new Corollas are higher revving engine which is why max torue is only reached at 4,400prm with 175Nm compared to the 1ZZ-FE 4,200rpm, 170Nm. So maybe the difference might be minor but who knows, maybe they are built more like the 1NZ-FE(Yaris) which has conrods like pencils or it could even be the total opposite with a boost thirsty engine that is waiting to be slapped with 12psi.

Apart from my Kappa wheels that came from the dealer I have also added the Pioneer AVH-P6850... I haven't yet posted the short shifter kit that I have ordered as it is touch and go at the moment. According to the seller its a 90% guarenteed that it will fit. Once I recieve it I'll post some more for you all.

I agree totoaly... I have changed my head unit to the Pioneer AVH-P6850 and I have found now that the speakers sounds worse. They don't sound good at all, the speakers were designed and tested to be used only with the factory head unit and nothing else. I'm upgrading everything eventually but I am doing my Audio in stages, so next for me are a set of 6" for the front and rears with a 4 channel running them... I would suggest that you change the speaker wire if you are going to run an amp through them, if not then you could leave them as is. Just remember that you could be under powering the new speakers if you do run it from the head unit, but this also depend on what speakers you intend on getting.

To the spring thickness. Slightly heavier. My main aim is to just close the gap I have that is seen at the top of the tyre to the guard IE not be able to see thru ... if you know what I mean. I don't particularly want it down over the top of the tyres So you wanna close the gap but you don't want the wheels to "tuck" in under the guards... I think he means he doesnt want it that low that the tyres go under the guard ala lowrider. Yes heavier and thicker means stiffer it wont compress as easily as the originals which is natural because you dont want to smack into the bump stops.

Make sure your hand-brake is up/on and as tight as possiable and give it a try... oh and it's not cause there is no power, just un-experienced thats all.

Hey on an Aurion, chrome is just what it needs, but I don't like it when people put heavy chrome wheels on a WRX... its like slapping the engineer who designed the race bred car across the face. It's all about power to weight ratio and not bling factor. This is one sexy Aurion/Camry though... in my books, those wheels are so sweet, might be harder to drive but well worth it.

Oh man... no thanks for the input from me :P just kiddin, It's really good to hear everyones opinion on this but at the end of the day the more you hear the more you become "little skeptical about dropping it ..." rubbing, and tyre sizes the list will go on and on about how they scrape over speed bumps. If and when you do go for a drop like pedders tell them that you want no rubbing or scraping... if they can't do it then go to another store.
