  1. Removing power steering pump and driving without it will damage the rack, there is no way to overcome that.
  2. You said that the noise is kliking or rubing? Take the wheel off (do not forget to use the jacks to support the car as you will have to spend some time under it...) and start from cheking small things like back cover of brake disk sometimes it can get bent and make rubing noise, if not, have a look at the front of the CV you will see the flanges that suposeto be round, small stones can damage it as well and it will make scrubing sounds, check all CV boots inner and outer. And that is right do not forget to have a look at any nails or so in tyres...
  3. Hi boys and girls! I got the 1991 ST184 Celica SX maybe half a year ago and I do like it, nice handling... and sunroof... At this moment it is under a total reconstructionn and modification process. Suspension is nealy finished, had to change all bushes- do not like rubber, pref. polyurethane, lowered springs from Pedders, KYB shoks, Autotechnica steering wheel and gear knob, shortened gear stick, all white vynil top of interior (still having a problem of lyuing the vynil around the rear side windows), total rearangement under the bonet, K&H POD Filter, 15x7 +25, 15x7 +35 alloy rims (best size for doing some curcuit cruising... Stil do not know the brand will post the pictures as soon as I will get them - I will need some wheel pros help me to find it ..) The bigest problemm of all is the 5S-FE engine, would love to change it for something like 3S-GE Beams, Just got the help from one of the forum members about the paint, will try to make it "Wildfire"... Will post some pics as soon as will get home... And one more, if anyone knows were I can find some polyurethane engine mouns???
  4. Thank you for help, I have done it already I did desidet just to pull it realy hard and it came off ( but not very hard ), had to find another way, as the surrounding plastic is getting painted and do not want to scratch it if have to take it off next time. Now I'm stuck on dash board, I dont know how to disconect the cable of the heater switch, I did pulled the handles out and found the little ring that stays on the pin and took it off, , but nothing happening , it stil stays in place and not moving, dash is held by that cable... By the way I like the car, light, small, economical, easy to handle, well now it is even more stable than when I got it, did fit the Nolathane bushes and it gives beter control, the bad thing is not all the bushes yet uvalable, going to talk to Nolathane to make some. And thank you for welcome , and guys do you do some kind of the rides sometimes?
  5. Hello everyone, I am totaly new to the forum and CELICAs, use to be an RB30 boy, and use to drive Holdens but now have changed my ride to a CELICA ST184. And now I have a small problem, I am trying to change the CD player but stuck on the first step: 1 Taking the original unit out Have tried to take the unit out the normal way but it is a original Toyota Philips cassete player and there is no holes in player for removing or push internal clips. Tried to remove the face plastic. I took the cover that sits around the gear knob and puled the plastick that around the player and cup holder but ilooks like the top is not clicking off. STUCK
