I also sold my Sportivo a few weeks ago. It is sad to see it gone. Now I am back on Market to look for new car again.

Compare to AWD.. you still suffering a little bit of torque steer. By help of traction control, you just need to hold your steering wheel and do not try to correct it, by the help of traction control and balance of the chassis, the car actually take off alright. When we were drag racing with commodore and falcon, Aurion actually come out a lot more quick. Around the corner, I never drive a AWD with VSC, when I test drive the Aurion, my aim is push the car until we lost it. All the corners, I just simple push it too hard, the instructor said that is not the right way to drive it. But when he drove the car and do a big turn, it turn alright... for example.. if you been to Calder, he turn the first corner at 85km/h with no problem. Sorry, as I said I did not test drive the car proparly, I am waiting for test drive the car at the normal road conditions. The first time I drove it, it did felt like you need to push hard to get the power, but as soon as I get into second corner, we went crazy. But may be it is just same as 2.4l camry or previous 3.0l camry, at new the car engine is a bit hard to take off. The more your drive the better it will become.

Even I can not believe it. Aurion actually drive better than Corolla Sportivo. I had a first official test drive of the new Aurion today at a race course. The drive is every impressive. First, quater mile. The car is actually faster than VE commodore and BF Falcon. The first 100m the VE is keeping up with the Aurion. After that Aurion started pulling away. For Falcon, it is absolutely not even close to the Aurion. Finally, the track time. The Aurion chassis is so well setup, I drive the car at full throttle all the way in the race course. Aurion is a big car, people usually very careful at driving a big car at the race course. The car is not race prepare, the car having the brake and suspension setting as people driving everyday. At the first corner, it is about 120 degree and I am doing about 120 to 130km/h the VSC kicked in. The car keeps going while VSC is in operational. Commodore, the car slow down significantly when the VSC operating. Later, I test driven the Mitsubishi 380, that car is nice for normal driving condition. I did not test drive the Falcon, I think that car is a bit old and dangerous. For my comment on the chassis setting. Aurion is the best, nice driving chassis, because the chassis is well setup I need to drive the car extremely hard for VSC to work. The VE is not that bad, but I think it is just enough for today’s technology. For 380, as I mention it is nice for normal driving condition, but do not take that car out on the track, it will kill you. Sorry I totally forgot to test drive the comfort of the car. It is too much fun to drive the car at a track with no worry about police or smashing the car. I have a lot of fun driving the car. I can not wait to drive it on the normal road. Comeon... everyone can do it with..... The car come in Traction Control and VSC...... Heard the beeping sound when the car turned?? that is for VSC... see the car.. it is very slow exit from the corner... Go to drive a Toyota with TRC like MRS and you will know.. AlphaC.

I had a drive.. you can really feel the car are actually less power. Many people already complain the car are not powerful enough.. I also think that Corolla is not a very light car (in the same category), so less power are help the drive at all..

Do not need to wait until next service... please read your owner manual, you need to reprogram your Windows again (I not really remember how to do it again.. different cars has it way of reprogram the windows).. it is not the windows recover itself slowy... it is because some of your passenger re program it for you.. all the Toyota auto up/down windows has to reprogram after the battery disconnected....

It is depend which month of production... if the built date is september it is 100kw of power.. if the built date is oct it will be 93kw... it is hard to tell..

It is depend what colour is the water.. I say 99.99% is Air conditioning water... 0.01% is leak from somewhere...

About the 15" disk brake, Yes, Ascent used to be 14" steel while they upgrade to 15" steel but they did no upgrade the brake to fit 15".

I can be wrong here, but I am not sure. I had been with Toyota for a while now, the average life cycle for a car in Toyota is 5 years. And next year 2006 I think it is also end of era for current Corolla. I also heard the rumours in Toyota, they already planned the new Corolla in late 2006 or definately in 2007. So re-introduce the Corolla sportivo in Mid or Late next year isn't look possible. And re-release the sportivo too close to the new model isn't a good move, that will make the sportivo is hard to sell as well. And Toyota Australia always said SPORT CARS are not their main concentration, because the life cycle is too short. Even if they re-introduce the Sportivo overseas, we might able to see it in Australia.

Wonder where they got this stat from cause most dealers couldn't get enough of them... ← I do not know.. I am working in for Toyota and that is what the "top guys" at Toyota told us.. From my point of view, they simply doesn't interest in sport cars at all, they keep told us that Sport cars has very short product life cycle, they sell very well in first couple of years only. All Corolla Sportivo models (South Africa TSAM-sourced) will cease production from 31 October 2005. There will be no immediate replacement for Corolla Sportivo in the foreseeable future. I knew that Celica and Mr2 is gone, but now Corolla Sportivo, this will makes Toyota Australia with no Sport Car. One and only top 10 Car manufactures in Australia with no Sport Car. Certain batch of Corolla Sportivo the brake shoe is sitting too close to the disk. So the noise is from there. The noise should be disappear after the car had been warm up. The noise will disappear after about 2500km, or if not tell them to remove your brake shoe and readjust tje clearance again. AlphaC.

I am working for Toyota, and picked up my Sportivo not Long ago. Yes there is a problem with the Engine oil sensor, that is not an easy fix. the dealership need to send the car to Auto Electrician, they can not fix in house. If they trying to fix it in house tell them to get lose. I send my to Auto Electrician and the light never come back on again.
