  1. hey thanks guys, i thought it was running a tad too cold. thermo fans are ok, they stay off when cars cold if they went all the time they would come on when ignition turned, correct? anyway ive removed the thermostat and am off to yak to the toyota spares guys to see if a hotter thermo is required thanks for the input appreciated KK edit: there is no thermostat....................previous owner mustve taken it out.......problem sorted and car now running at just below 1/2
  2. hi guys where is the temp gauge supposed to sit during normal running, the reason i ask is our camry barely gets above cold, my other car (not a camry) gets to about a 1/3rd. if its running too cold whats the best thermostat to get? thanks KK
  3. tyres have you checked the pressures? too hard a pressure too hard a ride. also tyre profile makes a huge difference as well, 45 & 50 series tyres are as hard as rock, i just went from stock 65 series to 45 series and the ride changed completely, handles better but rides heaps harder. its something i can live with but it dont sound like your missus can. maybe someone with that model can help more KK
  4. hi guys anybody know if a 94 toyota hiace and a 94 camry share the same wheel offset/center bore, a assume the stud patterns the same. i purchased a set of rims for my 94 camry but i didn't like the look of them on the car (rodney jane racing wheels, the black ones) and have bought another set which look much better imo. anyway i got a friend who lives interstate who owns a 94 hiace who will take the old ones off my hands but only if they will absolutely fit his van. without test fitting i've got no idea if they will or not so i don't want to freight them up only to find they wont fit. all the online wheel charts ive read do not have the hiace listed any help appreciated thanks KK
  5. yep that list is what he intends to replace thanks guys can rest a little easier that my mechanic isnt trying to put one on. KK
  6. thanks guys bought a set of wheels (to suit ford au it said in paper) well they slipped on like they were toyota oem rims look nice too thanks peeps didnt want to outlay $$$ unless being sure, you lot made it so.
  7. yes its a 4 pot didnt realize they replace waterpumps etc while in there, i suppose it makes sense but he never mentioned them ill have to ask thanks KK
  8. just had a yak to my local mechanic who has just done a tranny service on the wifes camry. i mentioned i will book it in soon to do the timing belt and associated seals/gaskets as i don't know when it was done he says "roughly 600-650" that sound right to anyone i know its a little tight in there room wise but it seems a little excessive. KK
  9. ya missing the point what i said was if au stud pattern/offset is same as camrys then i could buy wheels listed on ebay as to suit ford au as most times sellers just list the car they came off. no way in gods green earth id put ford wheels on the camry either, its just not right KK
  10. yeah whippy i agree the people in the local tyre dealers here know jack if the cars more than a few years old they know even less, i pity the guy who goes in there with a 60,70s car they will scratch their heads in wonder. im more looking on ebay and even on ebay not much shows up to suit 94 camry. ive seen guys driving round here in hiace's with falcon wheels so i know those wheels are interchangeable. KK
  11. thanks for the replies the reason i asked what other car makes wheels fit the sdv10 is that on ebay wheel shops and other websites they mention what cars wheels fit. the cammy being a little old in the tooth is never mentioned on these sites. so for arguments sakes if an ad says wheels will fit falcons au and onwards and au wheels (stud pattern+offset) will fit the cammy id be sweet. KK
  12. hi guys 1st off a very merry christmas to you all and may 09 bring you happiness and good motoring now onto the issue just puchased a 94 camry for the wife, its a cracker, been well looked after and serviced at the toyota dealer it was purchased from since new. 210k on clock. now apart from a dodgey windscreen washer bottle ( why is it they all disintegrate? ) to be fixed id like to put some nice alloys/mags on it. do any other model cars wheel fit the sdv10 camry, ive heard mention ford wheels will fit is that true? and subaru? any input appreciated as id like to bling it up for the wife for xmas thanks KK
  13. hi peeps my camry had its passengers side CV shaft replaced about 2 months ago. the strut was also replaced as was the lower ball joint. after a while the car has started to get a low notchy vibration coming from front end somewhere. if you would imagine a flat spotted tyre, thats what it sorta feels/sounds like but im getting no huge vibrations, more a low grumblin growly notchy feel, the faster i go so does it. so its something rotating. theres no vibration thru wheel or brake pedal, its coming from the front somewhere. seeing as ive already replaced cv/ball joint/strut on this side do you think it might be the hub bearing on this side? has anyone else had a similar experience? thanks in advance for your replies KK
