  1. go for a sportivo :) http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...x=mode+matchany 05 model - 14500 ks on dash - 20grand ....
  2. has anyone used the normal E10 (93 octane) in their sportivo ..... if you have, how did it affect performance / mileage? will it bugger up our engine?
  3. I’m not trying to be a pessimist and don’t get me wrong i think sunroof's are great but isn’t that simply a ridiculous waste of cash ... I mean 2 grand..... That’s seems to be quite allot to spend on a sunroof that won’t really increase the resale value of the car at all....

2003 Corolla Sportivo 73500 ks had it since August 2006 - bought it on 49 k going strong!
  5. i just went downstairs to the car to have a look / check i think the clutch and its height etc is fine ... the problem seems to be more in the gearbox (possibly just my shifting) it seems that when im shifting from 1st to 2nd im pushing way to far to he left ... as if im shifting into the reverse gear but shifting down offcourse (not upwards)(remember its a sportivo so reverse is next to 1st) it just seems that the resistance that used to be present between reverse and 1st / 2nd area has dissipated a little bit ... or maybe its just me pushing to hard to the left instead of maintaining my 1st to 2nd down the 'side wall' .... im not sure i think alot of times things like this are in my head... or maybe my 2nd gear syncro is going?
  6. im having the exact same problem (lift wil engage 50% of the time from 1st to 2nd shifts....) ill attempt to do the same procedure ... how many times did u tighten and loosen the bolts?
  7. Are they the same??? Do both airboxs have those small pipes (vaccum's) for the VSV etc... they plug into the top and bottom parts of the airbox?
  8. what exactly do the 'blue thingy' and 'brown thing' (i think u refer to them as the VSV ....) do - also what do the vaccum lines that come out of the stock airbox do .. if u block them off when u put the cai in ... what happens when u take the cai out ... are they necessary???
  9. The 2 vaccum lines (tiny in diamter) that plug into the top and bottom of the corolla airbox - are they needed????? the 2 tiny platic pieces that they plug into snapped off when removing the airbox (tried superglueing them back on.... doesnt work) so i have just blocked the ends up ... car drives 100% normally though there is a faint whilstly murmor sound when u have the windows open but with windows closed nothing is evident what do these vaccum things do (and the strange clip on thing that has the brown ends that clip into each other ... [this clips on the front of the airbox] the pipes/vaccums come from there...... can anyone help?
  10. 19 year old 03 corolla sportivo CAI + DVD player head unit pay $807 a year (including rental car facility for 15 days) 500+1200 excess car insured for $24500 AAMI
  11. my 1st 03 corolla hatch (auto) which i bought at 26,000ks did the same thing, i think its normal!
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...A:IT&ih=009 what you guys rekon - the above trd knob vs the stock knob ???
  13. fantastic looking car ! and its a 2zz o yeh!
  14. please define what you mean by 'burped'???
  15. sounds pretty good i bought my 03 stivo in August 06 with about 50k on the clock for $19,500 but PERFECT condition, paint, interior etc so i was very happy good luck!
  16. Strangest thing (Comparing Mobil 6000 95 octane to Mobil 8000 98 octane) I have always used 98 octane in my sportivo but last time i filled up with 6000 because they were out of 8000 and have noticed something strange There is no doubt there is more power / better throttle response using 98 octane how ever, using 95, all the rattles the engine used to make have seemingly disappeared.... the engine sounds better and seems to have a more stabilised / even power delivery..... Am i going nuts or could this be true??
  17. loooks awsomeee .. id love 1 ... do u have a price, can u get another by any chance??? does it fit perfectly?
  18. what about the TRD one u can get of eBay etc... is it much heavier? i find alot of vibrations and noises seem to be coming from the gear knob area .... any one else find this? whats the weight of the stock sportivo knob?
  19. yes please!!!! and locations 2 purchase ... that fit our car!
  20. Aren't all the fuses located in the black box on the right of the battery? Cause I don't see any box behind the battery. I’ve blown this fuse 2, from memory it’s the purple fuse (i think 15) ... it controls ur interior lights, audio, clock etc i took it to an autoelectrician ... he pulled appart the car and then checked fuses.... (the fuse costs like nothing i think 20cents ... but i had to pay for the time ...) I learnt this a costly way … :(
  21. id like a heavy gear knob but the stock stivo one looks classy .... i dont want a cheap looking knob... any one have suggestions on which and where to buy?
  22. lift doesnt always engage at 6100 , sometimes kicks in a bit later
  23. aggreeeeeeeeeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she loves to rev and gets awsome fuel consumption so why bother with keeping the revs so low .... it almost seems like the tacho is incorrect (for example 2,000 revs in a honda civic is equivalent to like 3,000 in our sportivo) drive her like she is sposed to be driven !! :)
  24. how come is that? When looking to buy my Rolla, I first hired a hatch then drove two more demonstrator hatches from the dealer. All came with a soft rattling sound from the rear, like plastic against metal. I've read elsewhere that maybe this is because unlike the sedans, the hatches are built in South Africa. I tend to think it's all the flaps and bits of moving upholstery hanging down behind the rear seats. Anyway, I ended up buying a sedan. No more rattles. Still lots of road noise, so I don't think the trunk is insulating me from rear wheel road roar. Try saying that four times. 1. NOT all hatches are built in SA ... I had a 03 Corolla Ascent and as the VIN indicated it was built in Japan, i think more hatches were built in Japan than SA. ALL corollas SPORTIVO's were built in SA! 2. Comments like this are a bit ridiculous these days as MANY BMW's, Mercs, Audi's etc built in SA ... and they maintain there quality
