  1. my mum has an 02 wagon with 140,000km on it and its never skipped a beat. Just the normal servicing etc and its still running like the day we got it. The 2zz's are pretty tough it took me 6 months of pretty hard driving and few trips to 9,000RPM on stock internals to kill one....

mate my first car was an 03 ascent and now I’ve got an 03 Sportivo

there is absolutely NO comparison - its simply a diff car - if nothing but for the engine go for the stivo - stick a CAI in and it roars!!!

  2. i get mimimum 650km from my 2003 corolla sportivo. i once got close to 700km driving snails pace

i got about 740ks City driving - Mobil 8000 (58 litres) and that was with quite a bit of lift- but mostly changes around 3.5k

still very impressed with this little beast - compared to my auto 03 corolla (used to get 400 ks Max 50 litres of 91 unleaded - driving softtt)

  3. damn...that means i mite gotta take out my fogg lights?! or buy this special thing....lol

    1. YOU DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE FRONT BUMPER OR FOG LIGHTS!!!!

    2. INSTALLATION DEPENDING ON HOW GOOD YOUR ARE TAKES AROUND 20 MINS (TOOK ME AND A FRIEND ABOUT 15 MINS DOING IT SLOWLY - and we found it quite easy)

    3. PRICE WOULD BE AROUND THE 325-390 (depending on currency conversion - hopefully we can get it down a bit depending on order size (as delivery to Aus is the expensive part)

    4. The bypass value is used when driving through heavy amounts of water - it prevents any water from getting into the engine (and is situated about half a foot from where the CAI connects onto the engine

    5. Fits all sportivo models - (03 to 05) !!!

  4. i find the only petrol that will give me good mileage is Mobil 8000

used 50 litres on 700k (all city driving) with AC on constantly

    im very happy with that

it seems the others such as shell, caltex, bp 98RON's give better performance but alot less k's

  5. :nono: What about the Jews?????

    :P

    Happy Hanukkah? :)

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year TOCA!

Be Safe Have fun & Take It Easy On The Spirts LOL

its spelt chanukkah :) (the c is silent in chanukkah lol)

but yeh have a awsome new year, happy chanukkah, xmas, kwanza, ramadan etc :)

  6. hey, you're the guy i was talking to at maccas, cause i remember your aerial!

    i was the redhead kid..lol

good to see you got it in! i should hopefully be picking up a blitz CAI within the next few weeks :D

    blitz dont make CAI...

welllllll, as far as i know, my brother in laws mate who will be selling it to me, had it on his old sportivo, i haven't seen it yet, but i have been told its a blitz and its from the states...im pretty sure i've seen some around on ebay before ;)

    anyone want to confirm?

ive seen a few blitz intakes on ebay Australia - cant coment until ive seen one / driven in a car with one installed

gluk with it - ull loveeeeeeeeeee it :)

btw im getting better petrol consumption now aswell - 650ks HAMMERING IT :)

how many kms were u gettin b4

well probs around the same- but hammering nearly non stop much more than before :) - LIFT is more adictive than ever

  8. silverbuilt: did you use a plastic primer before spraying the final colour on. cos i was talking to a guy at a paint shop and he said you need this special plastic primer so that the paint would stick and not peel. was he correct??

definitely use plastic primer 1st then do the coats of paint then do the final glossy coat layer (with plastic gloss stuff)

  9. Installed my AEM CAI last night-

Best BUY / MOD EVER! - the sound of this thing when you hit LIFT is incredible - ridiculously loud at revs >6000 but below is quiet as- almost same as before

ALSO - all my rattles and noises have gone away - it used to rattle and buzz like crazy when i hit LIFT (i thought the noise was coming from the centre consol / dash) but now it has alllll gone away

much quicker throttle response and definatley more power from 4grand upwards (especially in LIFT)

  10. how much did the phoenix gold cost ya?

at the time - i got the 6.5" for the front and then 6x9's for the back (awesome speakers but big mistake due to inadequate corolla stock parcel shelf and allot of effort needed to do it properly- just get 4 x 6.5's)

and it was $290 for both sets

  11. Just wanted to know what the speaker sizes were in the corolla. the speakers in mine are starting to crap out after a bit too much greenday, marley, ect

speaker reccomendations would also be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance

the speakers in my previous corolla ascent seca were pretty bad - so i changed them to Pheonix Gold 6.5inches - to answer your question - the stock speakers were 6.5 inch - so al i had to do was take off the door panels and remove the speakers bracket containing the speaker (which were pop riveted on), smash out the old speakers and use the same brackets to put the new speakers in.

The Phoenix golds were excellent speakers :) (im no longer using them as the stock setup in the stivo is much better than the ascent and will suffice :)

  12. Kings Superlow Springs 50mm AE122 Front - KTFL105SL

    Kings Superlow Springs 50mm AE122 Rear - KTRL106SL

i have looked up this part numbers from the list that northy kindly set up. but wondering, i had king super lows fitted today and on the receipt it said AE122. Jus wondering if this is in fact the right spring for 1zz1. Thanx, good boy, would you know or anyone else please, im a lil worried though ride is awesome and not to stiff.

just wondering how much it cost (springs + installation) and where are you located, as i was thinking of having springs installed

also what is the handling like- compared to before

  13. My CAI will be getting installed in a few days (hopefully lol) and i was just wondering - will the car get warmer quicker with the CAI installed as currently i can drive 2 k’s or so and the car still wont be fully warmed up yet? or will the CAI do the opposite and take longer for the car to warm due to additional, denser colder air coming in?
