  1. after almost 3 weeks we finally found the keys.. it was under the microwave!!! but just for future ref,, i called a few auto locksmith and they will charge anything between $550-$850 for 2 keys.. they come to you and cut it on the spot.. thanks for the input guys.. wil
  2. hey guys long story short, my mum lost my keys to my corolla last week and now we turned the house over 3 times and still havent been able to find it.. i called Toyota today and they wanted $1900 for a new ECU and 2 keys.. parts only!!! just wanted to see if i had any other cheaper options.. any help would be great.. cheers wil
  3. i'v just completed the belt change,, piece of cake.. done in about 15min.. a little bit tricky getting around the last pulley, extra set of hands come in handy here.. good luck for the future guys, its not too hard ;) thanks again for the tips, cheers wil
  4. last time i had it done my mechanic only charged me $70,, and it took him 1/2hr.. i figured it cant be that hard, so i'll have a crack at it this time.. ;)
  5. cheers guys.. been a great help.. will do it this weekend.. i'll let you guys know how i go.
  6. hey guys just wondering if anyone has done a DIY belt replacement for the drive belt in a 1zz.. i tried a quick search but couldn't find much... my car has just clicked over 200,000km so time to change the belt, but would like to try it my self. any tips would be great.. cheers guys wil
  7. tell us or 2 weeks ban,, lol.. wil
  8. located west sub's of melbourne, 1rocky, i'll try and get some prices for postage. cheers guys.
  9. hey guys, i'm after 1 sportivo rim for a spare, not too fussed about tyres.. also after a set of zze shocks, prefer something after market like KYB's, good condition no leaks.. feel free to pm me or 0421 477 686 (sms only) cheers guys wil
  10. the guys from QFM in QLD will make custom pads for you if you order them. great guys to deal with, but you just have to wait. i got a set of QFM pads made for my corolla ascent sedan, took about 6 weeks.
  11. i'm currently on s-tech springs and stock shocks.. i'v had pedders springs and also BC coilovers before this, and this current set up is the better out of the 3 in terms of everyday driving (i do aprox 50,000km per year). i'v had them for well over 1 year, and from memory i paid about $350, and installed them my self. just make sure you buy genuine tein and not copies.
  12. i'v had my 2002 corolla for 3 1/2 years,, got it on 44,000km and now coming onto 200,000km, and done at least 4 track days in it. cars been mod'd and then returned to almost stock (suspension and brakes only) was serviced every 5,000km up untill about 12 months ago (when i stoped tracking it) now service every 10,000km. the last 156,000km has only tasted premium petrol, last week i averaged 7lt per 100km.. they say 1 lap is equivalent to 1000km wear and tear, last track day i did 26 laps around winton. fuel and services has cost me a small fortune (at one stage i was servicing every 5-6 weeks) but i would not change it for anything.. great car..
  13. you wouldn't be interested in selling 1 rim, would you? i need a spare.. wil
  14. tempting,, but my shocks are shot... :( i know it'll be a good day,, they always are..
  15. hey guys/girls i'm after a full set of shocks, as mine are starting to leak. prefer vic as postage might get expensive. a set of KYB's with low kms would be ideal, if anyone has them laying around. PM me with asking prices (would love a set of koni yellows but don't have the money atm :() cheers guys.
