  1. Hi Trent, As I have mentioned earlier, I have previously owned a 2008 ZR6 and have also driven many 2010 SR6s - all extremely quiet and very comfortable. The issue is with the 50 series.
  2. Hi Matt, Thank you for the comments. As I have mentioned earlier, I have previously owned a 2008 ZR6 and have also driven many 2010 SR6s - all extremely quiet, so I can't see why sports handling and NVH can't go together. Toyota has stuffed up on the 50 series - just have to find out where.
  3. I have had everything checked out - alignment is ok. As I mentioned earlier,it is will all the Sportivos that I have driven in the 50 series. learning to live with the noise for the time being. Hopefully someone comes up with a solution soon.
  4. I talked to a senior tech at my local Toyota and he said that it is due to the sports suspension. He said that even in the new Camry's with the optional sports suspension upgrade, the noise is there.
  5. Hi Tony, I spend about 6 hours a day on the road and I really like the ZR6 - except for the road noise, it is excessive. When I talk to my customers via the bluetooth, they can hardly hear me due to the noise. Mine is a stock standard - not lowered or any other changes except for the sound deadening.
  6. Hi - it is the road / tyre noise. I have had a 2008 ZR6 and a 2012 Prodigy - both super quiet. Have tried 3 different sets / types of tyres - but not much luck. Have driven a few 2013 / 2014 ZR6s and they are noisy as well. Drove the latest Holden SV6 recently and it was super quiet as well.
  7. HI Matt, I can't see it in mine. I know the 2008 one did. Which model and year is yours?
  8. Matt36415 - I would be interested to get some feedback once you have tested it out. I have spent almost $3500 and still no luck. I have attached some pictures after the first sound deadening. This made no difference. I then had the wheel arches does as well - made about 5% difference. They are great cars but the road noise is too much. A tech at toyota told me that it is due to the sports suspension - not too sure about this. My first 2008 ZR6 Sportivo was super quiet.
  9. I have some sound deadening material that I want installed in the car. Do you know anyone in Brisbane who can do it - the seats will have to be removed. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321777305401 Thanks.
  10. Thanks mg85 - are you able to upload some pics if possible. Interested in seeing how you did it.
  11. Hi 07Prodigy, Just checking if you have had any luck. I am really frustrated with this Aurion road noise. Thinking for dumping it and going back to Holdens.
  12. Hi Brian G. I don't know which material he used but it took him just under an hour.
  13. Just to update you all. I have rented / driven a lot of cars over the past years and the new batch of Aurions are the nosiest that I have come across. I have changed 2 sets of tyres. I got sound deadening done at Northfield Car sound but it made very little difference to the car. They did all 4 doors, roof, boot and the floor. Then my brother did the front drivers side wheel arch - made a huge difference. We will soon be doing the front left - will keep you updated.
  14. Hi Robboszr6. Thanks for the feedback. I ordered a full set of Michelin primacy 3 st last week and will be installed on Monday. What size did you get. I am tossing up between 225/55R17 and 215/55R17. I have been told that the 225 will give a harder riding as it has a higher load rating (101) compared to 94 load rating of the 215/55/R17
  15. Hi Robboszr6. Thank you for your comments. I have been using Yokohama Advan Decibel - V551 tyres in my previous cars as well. The 2008 ZR6 had it during its last 2 years and after that on the 2012 Prodigy. That's why after a week of driving the 2013 ZR6 I had them installed. And I agree about it getting noisier when road surface changes.
  16. Hi TRD12345. Thank you for your feedback. No it is not lowered - stock standard. I have been using Yokohama Decibels for the past 4 years without any issue. The original tyre was Bridgestone and they were noisier.
  17. Hi. I recently upgraded to a 2013 ZR6. The very first thing I noticed was how noisy it is inside the cabin - road noise - mostly at speeds over 90k. I have since changed the tyres and got underbody sound deadening as well. I got Yokohama decibel tyres which I have always used. None of these have made any difference to the noise level. This is my 3rd Aurion - 1st was a 2008 ZR6 and then a 2012 Prodigy. Both previous Aurions were fairly quiet. Any feedback / suggestions will be appreciated.
  18. Hi Road Runner - thank you for your comment. Old is Gold. I had become accustomed to quality and the confidence that it gave me. I really don't know how to explain it but the new car lacks feedback.
  19. Hi Auri 7. Thank you for your post. I am put off by how cheap the interior of the new Aurion looks. As for the floor mats - I went to the spare parts shop at the local Toyota dealer and even the manager over there was surprised at the cheap quality of it. It came with Bridgestone tyres which were crappy so after a week I upgraded to Yokohama Advan sport v105 - the same ones I had in the zr6. Wheel alignment and pressure are great. Kick down and acceleration is great - better then the 2008 zr6. Overall the car is good but has that cheap feeling to everything - the confidence it not there. As for the next car - I don't really know. Before the ZR6 I had 3 holden commodores - I tried to support the Aussie car industry - but now that's going as well. Open to suggestions - has to be big but not a suv. Thanks for the tip on the floor mats - but I thinks it time to sell the car and look at something totally different - or go back to Holden - one last try.
  20. I recently traded in my Aurion 2008 ZR6 for a 2012 Prodigy. The 40 series had a feeling of safety and robust about it that is missing in the 50 series. Most disappointing is the steering - feels very sensitive at high speeds and lacks feedback at low speeds. Also, the interior, the floor mats and the leather seats have a cheap feeling to it. The 2008 ZR6 came with high quality floor mats that did not move an inch - they had rubber spikes at the bottom to hold it in place. The new Genuine Toyota mats keep slipping off. All this combined with a few other minor concerns has now put me off Toyota.
  21. Thanks for your feedback. Which ones did you get and and where from ?
  22. The more I read the more confused i am. Most people are recommending 35 watt 4300k instead of 55 watt 4300 or 6000k. Would like to hear your feedbacks. Thanks.
  23. The first eBay one is looking good so far. Do I go for 4300k or 6000k?
  24. Ok. These are a few that I am looking at. Any feedback would be appreciated. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/55W-HID-Xenon-Bulb-Conversion-Kit-Slim-Ballast-H1-H3-H7-H9-H11-3000K-6000K-8000K-/261252266792?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd3d93b28 http://www.ebay.com.my/itm/CAR-XENON-HID-55W-50W-KIT-H1-H3-H7-H11-HB4-6000K-8000K-/170648402490 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XENON-HID-COMPLETE-Conversion-KIT-H7-6000K-single-beam-bulbs-55W-DIGITAL-BALLAST-/261236558474?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd2e98a8a
