  1. well thats what I had previously been told and thought, so in that case it didn't collapse it just fell to the floor. Made it harder to get out of the car. I think given the circumstances, the way the steering wheel had moved would still be considered acceptable. It needs force in the appropriate direction to be able to collapse. Having it collapsible would just prevent it from moving further towards the driver or allow it to be pushed forward in the event the driver had continued their forward momentum towards it.
  2. Well on two occasions that I have purchased the Potenza's, one was from a Bob Jane, the other from a Bridgestone Tyre Centre. If they refuse to quote over the phone, simply tell them no thanks and say you'll just another franchise that would prefer your business. Quotes are going to vary if it's not in a catalogue so the deals one person gets doesn't necessarily mean you are going to get the same.
  3. You don't have to go into a shop for quotes. There is this marvellous device called the telephone. You probably could have made a couple of calls in the time it took to make that post as well. Surely your time isn't that precious.
  4. Never noticed any noise. Surely though if they were squeaking, that would simply be solved with grease. They aren't intended to stay greased for life.
  5. Just the way the engine is designed. Part of the noise comes from the top end of the engine, part from the EGR valve, part from the VVTi solenoids. It all adds up to a noisy engine.

As always. Still keeping the tradition.
  7. You don't / you can't.
  8. No worries. As for overdrive, may as well leave it on. It doesn't really matter unless you think you will rev out 3rd. Turning overdrive off is only going to limit you to the first 3 gears so if by the end of the 1/4 mile you are still in the rev range of 3rd, then having it on or off won't make any difference.
  9. Really depends on the car. You can depending on how much power you are dealing with and what your tires are like, you may be able to get away with simply holding the brake with your left foot and having your right foot ready to floor the accelerator. Then when the third yellow light illuminates, you lift your left foot while stomping on the accelerator as quick as you can. That would be the simplest way, but it would not lead to the best times. To get those, you need to experiment. For the Aurion, I had written u some pointers. To give you some idea of how you can experiment, have a read of the following:

Holy forum return Batman! Haven't heard from you in ages.
  11. This is all I can think of now:
  12. Do you walk outside in the open with a dust mask on? Then I guess there isn't really anything to complain about.
  13. Geez mate. You're probably going to have an interesting time finding the answer to that one. That beep certainly doesn't sound like anything that came in the car from factory. I would start looking around the car for anything aftermarket fitted to it.
  14. They don't seem to have it on their website. You are probably better off making a phone call. Not everything can be found online.
  15. I'm guessing you didn't read everything I wrote before going straight to the picture!
  16. You women and your grandma cars.
  17. Why Toyota. Why must you do this to us and not bring this out to Australia.
  18. Re-pack the batteries like you would with RC car battery packs maybe I'd hate to imagine the price of that though. Seriously though, how much would Toyota charge to replace the batteries? Surely there would be some way they can offset it by sending the old ones off for recycling or something.
  19. The CN chip means you won't be able to log on here anymore.
  20. Wow... just wow.
  21. Just saw that 2nd commercial on another site. Was about to post it here for LOL's but looks like you beat me to it.
  22. Don't have to go that extreme just for replacing the mufflers for straight pipes. Just go to Right Price in Slacks Creek.
