  1. Hi all, I'm looking to get my car tinted and was hoping you could give me some recommendations? I have a black corolla sportivo 03. Best place to get it done? Darkest legal? Probable price? Thanks all, Cornrolla
  2. Well, I rang AAMI again to get a quote with mods (acting like i already had them). It was 940 as opposed to 630 for a stock stivo (for me). So since i only got a stock one (so far hehehe) I'll just apply for that, and then tell them about the mods later. The AAMI guy said that there shouldn't be that big a discrepancy in price, so he recommended that course of action too. So cheers for the info all, much appreciated... still would be interesting to see what others have in terms of insurance... looks to me like aami is the cheapest upfront.
  3. Um, where did you hear this? Because I can't find it on their link...
  4. I should just mention, i'm 21 (sooo old!! lol) and my quote full comp with aami was 635... RACQ etc was 1300+. But aami, when I rang them, said I could only have 1 mod. How did you aami customers get all your mods and still go with them? Do you think your mods affected your cost much? cornrolla
  5. Hey all, So I got my 03 Sportivo several weeks ago, but am yet to get insurance. I was about to go with AAMI today, but upon ringing up found out that they only allow one mod. period. not cool, since i had a few things planned So I have several questions...since I noticed just about every tivo owner on here has several mods (and then some lol) Who are you with? Why? Price? Service? How much (if you don't mind me asking) How many mods can you have with them? Premium costs? Age of driver? Any other important info? I searched the forum and noticed that there wasn't a post specifically dedicated to full comp insurance rates for sportivos, so here it is Obviously this post is for those with corolla sportivos mainly, and with full comp insurance :) I'm in Bris/QLD btw, so esp anyone in the area, plz tell me your choice and reasons! Thanks guys, cornrolla
  6. well, i've rang all the usual places - autobarn, repco, supercheap - and they said they couldn't find a part no for that yr, only for previous years. one of them said they had a universal one though. anyway, i checked myself - went to bosch website and looked for the part through their brochures... they were right, i could find a part no. only for previous years, not from 01-up. not cool. i'm wondering whether a universal will be as effective as the genuine... but you pay more than double installed (400) for the genuine. thoughts?
  7. i haven't got it yet, but probably a universal one. i'm looking on the bosch website to try to find a part no. how many wires can you connect up to in the corolla? do the spare wires just hang there? do you know of anyone who has a universal one, and what do they think? (sorry about all the q's!) Depends, anywhere from 2 to 5 depending on what sort of O2 sensor it is. Did you get one specifically for your car, or a universal one?
  8. thanks for that hero, i couldn't get through to them but found an autobarn store at lawnton which did have the part. how many wires does the o2 unit have btw?
  9. yes, i am in brisbane (north). would that be possible, random hero? lol, i should be able to install one i hope hahaha. i know toyota has them in stock, but if you have contacts, i'd really appreciate it. They'll be able to order them in though. Where are you located? If you're in Brissy I can track one down for you. It's really, really easy to change over - any idiot that can wield a spanner can do it (not insinuating that you're an idiot :P)
  10. has anyone had to put a new 02 sensor in? i'm ringing around atm and it seems like the toyota genuine one is the only one... repco/autobahn etc say they don't have one on stock
  11. also, is it a safety cert requirement to have the 02 sensor working? because it wasn't when i got it, and i'm wondering whether the mech did a dodge job...
  12. Random Hero, where do you get them from? Sorry, I have no idea about cars, just that I love my tivo lol You can buy them new for <$100, I can't see any reason why you'd really want to go for a second hand one.
  13. Hi All, I purchased an 03 Corolla Sportivo yesterday and paid in full :D It's a dream I had for years, so I was very happy. Until I noticed the engine light go one, you know the one in the manual which says, 'take to dealer immediately'. So I range the bloke I bought it off - he said that the light had been on for 6 mths, he took it to the Skyfleet Kedron and they said it wasn't a critical issue, that it would be 100ish to fix. He told me to go there and check if I wanted. I didn't notice this light during test drive btw, stupid I know. So I rang them, and yes, they had his (mine now, hehe) corolla on their system and mentioned the Oxygen sensor unit. Said it wasn't urgent but should be fixed to improve performance, and quoted me almost 400. 300 for the part and 100 for the install. My question is: Should the safety certificate have picked this up? Or does this not matter for a safety cert? Is there anywhere cheaper or should I get it done at Toyota? I rang Repco and they said they didn't have the part for the tivo model no :( What should I do? Is it necessary to fix this immediately? Obviously the ex-owner doesn't care because he has his money, but its kinda dented my tivo buying experience. It seems lowering will have to wait sigh lol. Thanks for you help guys, Jus
  14. Hi all, I hope i put this in the right section... I want to know if there are h-gates made for corollas... so you can see what gear you're in... older model cars used to have them. if so are they expensive and hard to get? I want one because I'm not very confident driving manual... lame i know, but I'm just starting Sorry if this is unclear, I put a pic below. Jus
  15. Thanks for that mate - should brush up on my graphic skills lol. I dunno... white's prob better for the hot brizzy climate... but i always wanted a black car. we'll see
