  1. Hey Im thinking about buying a corolla sportivo (dealer option) rear under skirt. Just wondering what prices others have paid for a one that is painted. Plus any advice on installation would help.
  2. Im from Melbourne, got my car from Nunawading Toyota. I talked to the service guy n he said he reckons that my car was probably on a jig that was at the end of its lifetime. Cuz the door lines up on every side but the crease on the top of the door that flows on to the quarter misses by about 4/5mm. He reckons the bonnet is normal for a sportivo and also the top back seat is normal cuz its all messy n creased along the bottom of it. Still no matter where the car is made it should have the same quality build.
  3. Sweet I took my car in to get it fixed for my 1000km service yesterday I had a huge list of complaints *My bonnet did not line up Answer - Toyota service guy said that all sportivos a like that so they cant do much about it. They tried to adjust the bonnet n bumper. Still doesnt line up. *My door did not line up with the rear quarter. Answer -Toyota service guy said they need to replace n paint the door. *Poor Finish on passenger footwell (can be seen between kit n door). Answer - Need to Repaint * No paint under rear door Answer - Need to repaint Tick in Engine Answer - According to them there is no tick, apparently its normal on Sportivos cuz it is a noisy engine *Grinding noise Answer - There is no grinding noise * Sticky Transmission Answer - There is nothing wrong with the transmission We have bought 2 brand new cars in the last 5 years My sisters Korean 2000 Daewoo Lanos - Perfect Panels n paint, no problems My mums 2003 Honda Civic Gli - Perfect Panels n paint, no problems My 2005 Toyota Corolla - Piece of Junk Now I dunno if I want to replace n paint bits of the car because it wont be the same. Its a brand new car n shouldnt need it it. I think Toyota should compensate me.
  4. Yep i got a Black 1. Ive only had it for a couple of weeks and have had to clean it 4 times, n gave it a good wax once.
  5. Air con was off. I dunno Im sort of over worrying about it. I have warranty, the car is new, i always warm it up and drive it in a proper manner. So whatever is wrong with it Toyota has to fix it, fix it, fix it and fix it again untill im happy otherwise i'll call up consumer affairs n take em to court. By the way Rolla Boy, thats a mad ride
  6. cooley the dash looks good, what brand globes did u use?
  7. sort of like a valve lifter knock with shu shu sound
  8. yes pics would be nice. What the brigtness like?, is it very uniform?
  9. Its booked in thursday, its the earliest i can get it booked in.
  10. Now this sportivo is really giving me the s***s at 800km. Last night i went to warm it up b4 i cruised to my gfs place. I let it idle n got out of my car to have a look at it with driving lights on at night. I imediately noticed a knocking sound. I popped the bonet and checkd for any loose engine covers n parts but everthing seemed tight. After a few minutes of listening i concluded that the sound was coming from the inside top end of my motor. Just so it wasnt a warm up issue i listened to it after driving for 30 min and it was still there. Now im not sure if it has been there the whole time cuz i havent had the car idle while i wasnt in the car. I dont get y its having so many issue for a new car, n i have been driving it like a baby. Last time I buy a Toyota, 345 000km on my old Honda and not 1 issue.
  11. Day 7 of sportivo ownership, 760km on the odometer. Driving home from work i noticed that grinding sound when decelerating is getting worse. Seems to be there when i engage and disengage the clutch (my clutch pedal is all the way to the floor so its not my driving). Gear changes are starting to get very sticky indeed and am using much more force to downshift into 2nd and 1st. Looks like my clutch or trans has a problem
  12. Hey i did a search but come up with nuthin. Has any1 changed the console lights on the sportivo from green to red to match the dash?
  13. Thanks to those who actually replied with something constructive I think 18x7.5s are the way to go with 215/35 so i dont deviate too much from stock. I couldnt find any 18x7s in any of the designs that I was interested in. I realise i will lose performance but i dont really care. I'll just put on the stockies wen i go to calder.
  14. Ive had the car for less than a week. First couple of days i had trouble shifting from 1st to 2nd but that went away. Sometimes i have to force the shifter a little harder into 1st when downshifting, and also downshifting from 4th to 3rd it can get a bit sticky at odd occations. But it also could be just the way im driving and I need to get use to the car still.
  15. Hey im looking into buying wheels in the near future for my corolla. My last car (88 Honda Legend Coupe) I installed a set of 17s (17x7s Aventek Vapours with Goodyear Eagle F1 215/45ZR17 tyres)so i am going bigger this time. I was thinking 18's or 19's for my 2005 corolla sportivo. The set of wheels i am intereststed in are chrome XHP Scorch. These only come in 18x7.5 for a 4 stud car and not 19's. Although i really wana get 19's cuz they are worth the little exrta money so i may keep looking QNS What size aftermarket wheels has every1 else got? and what type of tyre width/profile is good for the corolla? Plus has any1 had any problems with performance and/or clearance with 18 or 19 inch wheels?
