    MS55

try Rare Spares - branches throughout australia, will surely be willing to organise o/s freight. I know they have the weather strip/rubbers for ms65 (73 model), they were approx $67 aud each. Dunno if they'll have em for your ol girl but ya never know till ya give em a buzz. look up yellow pages on line (oz) and you'll find the listing easy
  2. gday man, wot exactly do you mean by drop arm - are you referring to the arm that travels from the splines on the steering box to the steering linkage arrangement (pitman arm in this part of the world) or some type of suspension component? If the former I had to get mine from Queensland (I live near Melbourne) to suit a 1973 ms65. Try hooking up to some freaks in Thailand cause every man and his dog has had one there at some stage of their lives. Yeah thats the bit... Pitman arm.. Currently Im looking over that area of the world for help with some guy on ebay from Singapore.... Sounds promising, just got to wait til the plane fly's in, in a coupla weeks and we can go from there!! Thanks for your help... well if no luck get in contact with two parts supply chains in Australia that should be able to track one down -one is called Burson, the other is Rare Spares. I 'll be checkin the site in the coming weeks so let us know how ya go bloke.

  4. Gday all. Was after a power steering mains and return hose to suit the ms 65. Any leads or contacts in this hemisphere would be appreciated. Many thanks
  5. G'day man. Not long ago put 7 inch wheels on my ms65. no problems at rear at first, little bit of scrapin at fron t ie under heavy brake load with wheel turned etc. Chewed out 1 rear tyre when I towed my boat, so had to put stockies on to tow - BUT - since then have invested in a set of poly air springs at the back (cost $306.00)- will solve tyre scrapin on wheel arch when towing loads, and it's improved cornering immensely. lower profile tyres up front have minimalized scouring, but I intend to look at some mods up front ie airbag suspension. Mags are an older multifit chrome star type, so you're spot on in saying your choices are limited. They really set the thing off though, will post image on my profile soon. ps. mags cost me $100 at local wreckers - they're always right in front of ya.
  6. Hello all. Expressions of interest from Classic Toyota owners & enthusiasts are welcomed for a possible casual meeting in the Outer Sth East Melbourne/Mornington Peninsula region sometime in Late Spring/Early summer. Day's proceedings would involve obvious gathering/presentation of vehicles and a valuable opportunity to meet, discuss, advise, observe, wheel & deal - whatever. The venue would ideally be some kind of reserve or point of interest where bbq/picnic facilities and plenty of parking is available. Again note this would bew designed to be a casual affair ie no horsepower heroes - just a casual sundie browse, cuppa n chat. I'll check this post again regularly in the coming weeks, any feedback/possible interest is more than welcomed. Many thanks
  7. I know where there's a wreck in reasonable nick that's got the bits ya want. It's a mornington peninsula sorta thing so dunno if it's a goa depending on where you are. Any idea where I can find a power steering box for mine ?
  8. man - sorry i'm late on replying, you've probably already done the swap. why not keep the feeling with a late model v8 from a landcruiser or lexus, as seems to be all the rage in custom circles lately. My understanding is 4.0 or 4.5 litre petrol options are available, the latter being particularly suited to gas. Who knows ,ya might even want a turbo diesel. I'd suggest having any good muscle car/ mod shop lookijng at any mount fabrication required - hopefully it's just a matter of that only - rather than having to alter tunnels/firewalls etc. I wouldn't expect these to be an issue though - no more so than say any gm plant. Gotta say the rig looks epic, and I know what you mean about keeping em original as I bought an ms 65 recently myself with a view to HEAVILY customization in a few years - now that I've tarted it up, the ***** looks too good to carve up! Many apologies again on delay of reply - due to club rego hassles. h (sob)
